Hello everyone, good evening. It’s Tamami from Tamami’s Walking Channel. Thank you for always watching. I just wanted to say that it’s starting to feel like autumn , but it doesn’t feel like autumn at all. I went back to Japan the other day , but it’s really hot there too. And I ‘ll tell you where I am now later , but anyway, I ‘m thinking of putting on long sleeves to get a feel for autumn. It’s a little oversized, so someone asked me, “Is that your dad’s jacket?” (angry) Today, first of all… thanks to all of you . Secondly, news from me . Thirdly, a Q&A that I wanted to try. And fourthly, about my activities in my third year… I’d like to present four parts to you all. I hope you’ll stay with me. Firstly, I’d like to talk about my… Tamami’s Walking Channel ‘s two-year anniversary. Thank you. To commemorate this two-year anniversary, I cut my hair short. I think I look a little younger. I cut off 40 centimetres. A very dear friend of mine told me that she had made a donation, and it was a year ago? …My hair was long too, so I was thinking I ‘d like to cut it off at some point and donate it , but I’m feeling refreshed now, so is that okay? 、 英語: I have had a change of heart or something . It’s not like I had a broken heart or anything , but I really wanted to change my attitude and flip a switch, and I always… get a haircut and that switches me on, so I think it was good timing . Those of you who have been watching this channel for a long time will know this, but when I was living in Hong Kong there was a company called Pandabus that operates travel agencies in Asia and Oceania , and it all started when I appeared as a cast member in a series called the Walking Series on their official YouTube channel. It was during the coronavirus pandemic, but that was about four years ago. That was Chapter 1, but when I moved to Thailand I founded the Tamami Walking Channel, and that was the start of Chapter 2. I ‘ve been posting about my life and travels in Bangkok , and to be able to reach our two-year anniversary like this is really exciting. Now, let’s move on to the second piece of news . This is my first time making a video, and I’ve moved. Hmm, I’ll give you three choices: 1. Vietnam 2. America 3. Taiwan So where is it? Tit- tit -tit -tit-teeeeen I’m in 3. Taiwan right now. So you ‘ve moved to Taiwan? This is the start of Chapter 3 of my walking series , yay! From now on, I ‘d like to update this walking series from Taiwan. The whole team will continue to work hard, so I appreciate your support. Taiwan is a popular tourist destination, so there’s lots of delicious food, and it’s close to Japan, so I think a lot of people will visit, so I’d like to update it with useful information and information about daily life . I still have some videos of Thailand that I haven’t been able to update yet, as well as videos of the countryside , so those will be uploaded from time to time… I’ll also be uploading videos of my travels , so it’ll be a bit mixed up …but I hope you ‘ll look forward to Chapter 3 of Tamami’s walking series, Taiwan . I’ve been to Taiwan before… …on a trip… …but this is my first time living here, and I never thought I’d end up moving to Taiwan , but Hong Kong is close now, Thailand isn’t that far, and Japan is close too, so I’m looking forward to it. ~ My second piece of news … That was Taiwan. I’ve been living there for a few months now, and life in Taiwan feels like a mix of life in Japan and life in Hong Kong. There are some parts that are similar to Japan, but it’s also similar to Hong Kong , and similar to the Chinese-speaking world and my time in Shanghai. But it’s also similar to Thailand. The formula for prices and things like that is multiplied by 4… multiplied by 5. Right now, we calculate 1 Thai baht at 5 yen , and in the same way we calculate 1 Taiwan dollar at 5 yen , so in that sense it’s pretty much the same. And the food at the food stalls is similar to Thailand, too. I hope to be able to share more information on that in the future. Next! Next is the Q&A ! Yay! I often get questions from friends and family… but I’ve picked out a few , including some I’ve received via direct mail , so I hope you’ll join me! First, three travel essentials: Of course, a cell phone. In this day and age, you need a cell phone , so ➊ my cell phone. But also… ❷ I always bring a credit card with insurance. And… hmm… a sense of enjoyment? ~ I always try to bring ❸ the excitement of seeing new things . Especially when I go to a country I’ve never been to before, I try to heighten that sense of excitement. Three things : ➊ my cell phone ❷ a credit card with insurance ❸ a sense of excitement … is this okay? お野菜とおいしいお酒を楽しみました 。 English: Here’s the point, a credit card that comes with insurance . And when I say insurance, there are two types: overseas travel insurance that comes with usage and automatic insurance. There are those that you can use just by having the card and those that you have to use the card to buy an airline ticket or other travel ticket for , so there’s a difference, and I’d like to explain more about that as well. When I travel , I make sure to eat local food of course, but I also try to eat what’s in season where I’m going. For example, if I go to a place that’s famous for white asparagus, like Germany, and it’s white asparagus season , I’ll eat white asparagus. If oysters are delicious here, then I’ll eat oysters. If cabbage is delicious now, then I’ll eat cabbage. I do research like that , and I showed it in a video about Korea before, but in Korea in May, I’ll eat something like Kongduraebab , a wild vegetable rice dish. I try to be conscious of things like that . Seasonal food is definitely delicious when you eat it in person, and since it’s a local specialty , I try to get seasonal food into my body. I also eat a lot of vegetables. Are we really in an age where we don’t need to eat vegetables ? 、まずはお問い合わせください。 English: Well, I guess I’ve finished that, but I’m eating vegetables. I’ll have one meal with vegetables, or buy some at the supermarket and eat those. This is the kind of food I consciously eat when I travel. Also, I ‘ve always loved coffee and I loved alcohol, so I would always try the famous alcoholic drinks at my travel destinations, and I would also make time to go to my favorite places like local coffee shops or cafes with a great atmosphere and enjoy a delicious coffee , but recently that’s been changing again. But that’s something I’ll talk about next time… … in the future… This is a question I’m often asked. What kind of SIM card do you use? My friends have asked me this, and my family has also asked me, “What should I do?” …and it’s a question we all have. Well, we’re in an age where you can’t do without the internet when you travel , and I use an eSIM… Well, I have two, and right now I’m using Rakuten Mobile . I wonder if that counts as a cheap SIM, a budget SIM ? 980 yen a month? 3GB? If you have Rakuten Mobile, you can use it in over 70 countries around the world (and it’s growing!). You get up to 2GB of free data per month, so you can use the same high-speed internet you use in Japan overseas . This is incredibly convenient, especially when you’re transiting through a country for only a few hours. It’s a pain to have to go through the trouble of switching to an eSIM card, right? It’s easy to use in those countries, and since it covers over 70 countries, it covers a lot of the countries people often travel to , so I personally recommend bringing a Rakuten Mobile card with you . But not only this , you’ll also be using data when you’re overseas, right? When making calls on Rakuten Mobile, you use a phone app called Rakuten Link . You make calls through the app. You can also use Rakuten Link to make calls within Japan , and it’s free. But what’s great about it is that if you’re overseas and make a call to Japan using Rakuten Link , you can make the call for free , without any additional charges, with your package plan . This is one of the things I really like about it . But there are still countries that aren’t covered by this alone. I recently went to North Macedonia, a country just above Greece , and I couldn’t use Rakuten Mobile there , so in those cases I often use an app called kkday to purchase an eSIM . It ‘s a light blue app, have you ever seen it? You can buy not only eSIMs , but also train tickets, theme park tickets, museum admission tickets, and tickets to various travel destinations . I often use kkday to purchase eSIMs , and to be honest, it’s cheaper than Rakuten Mobile. For example, I definitely… What if I’m going to a country where I’m going to be for three days and I know I’ll be searching a ton for sightseeing during those three days ? When I went to the UK, or somewhere where I know I’ll definitely be using about 1GB a day for sightseeing , I don’t get Rakuten Mobile’s gigabit, but I buy an eSIM from kkday and use that. So , I think it’s a good idea to use these two. But even if you buy an eSIM from kkday, it doesn’t come with a phone number, so you might need Rakuten Mobile for things like OTPs and SMS messages. So, I use both Rakuten Mobile and kkday. In any case, since it’s an eSIM, the fact that you don’t have to swap it out for a new SIM card is a great plus. This has gotten long, but if you’re interested, please take a look at the summary. The next question was about how to earn miles and which airlines are recommended . Personally , I earn miles with both JAL and ANA, but I’m currently trying to earn as much as possible with JAL. For Oneworld, I try to earn with JAL, and for Star Alliance, I try to earn with ANA. And SkyTeam. There is another major alliance, and I save points with SkyTeam through China Airlines, but if the conversion rate is better if I save points through an EVA account , then I will use EVA, and if ASIA MILES with Cathay Pacific or similar is better , then I will use that as well. This is a bit of a difficult point, so I wish I could explain it in a more concise and easy-to-understand way , but basically I fly with JAL and ANA, and also LCCs, so with LCCs I just think it’s fine to save up points, I ‘m not particularly particular about which airline I save up points with.Recommended airlines… The airline I really like is… Turkish Airlines.I’ve used them a few times, and their breakfast is delicious! Turkey is said to be one of the three countries with the most delicious food, and the in-flight meals on Turkish Airlines are pretty tasty and I really like them. I would definitely recommend flying on it at least once, and the layovers in Turkey are also great. Turkey is between Asia and Europe, so it’s easy to fly to Turkey and then fly back to Europe from Turkey , and I think the Middle East and Turkey are just the right place, so I like Turkish Airlines. What was the first country you went to in your life ? Korea.Korea is close to Kyushu , so it’s actually closer than Tokyo … or so I think …it’s so close.Have you ever cried while traveling? Yes, I have. For my graduation trip, I traveled to three European countries, I think it was France, Spain and Italy? But I lost my cell phone in France, the first place I was in.I was eating dinner and drinking with friends at night, and on the train going back to Paris from Versailles, I fell asleep, and when I woke up, I suddenly remembered something ! I said “This is it” and ran off the train, and then I dropped my phone, so I was like “Ahhhh” and crying really hard, and I’m sure my friends were in a lot of trouble too , and I wanted to apologize , and I was like, ” I’m so sorry , I’ve lost my phone and there’s no way it’ll be found, so I should just give up,” and they all hugged me, and the station staff were really nice and I thought, “I’m only in my first country , so I have to keep my spirits up, so I have no choice but to accept it,” and so I tried really hard that day, sending messages like “Find my iPhone” and saying things like, ” If anyone finds it, please email me here,” and I went back to the hotel, but it was towards the second half of the trip, so I decided there was nothing I could do , and I started taking pictures with the camera I had with me , and a kind French lady actually found my phone, and She contacted me via email , and I was traveling from France and in Spain when she contacted me, and I was about to go to Italy next. However, she wasn’t sure if it would arrive in Italy, so after I returned to Japan , she made the effort to send my phone back . It was found , and it was safely returned to me. I thanked her, and sent her some Japanese sweets. We continued to keep in touch from then on, and when I started working, I was able to meet her for tea . The world is big, but also small, and I still remember how happy I was to be able to meet the person who picked up my phone. Merci beaucoupThis was an experience that brought me to tears when I was traveling. The one thing I always buy when I travel is my “Souvenir Series”.I’m glad that everyone is enjoying it, and the whole team is talking about how we would like to continue to produce high-quality “Souvenir Series” .As for souvenirs, I used to buy crafts and other things for myself, but now I travel with less luggage, so I buy souvenirs for friends and family.I like coffee, so I try to buy coffee beans to bring back.I also like tea, so I buy tea to bring back. For example, when I go to Sri Lanka, the UK, China, and Taiwan, I buy a lot of tea. Also, coffee beans are bought in Vietnam, and I think I bought some in the Philippines recently. In the Philippines, there are coffee beans called Barako, which are very Filipino-style.I’d like to upload a souvenir video from that time, but actually, Coffee beans are available in many countries, and in Thailand too, coffee beans are delicious so I used to buy them, but recently I also buy a lot of tea. I’ve been cutting back on coffee recently so I think I’ve been buying more tea. I buy these two a lot. In the past, I liked bottled water and I also liked beer so I would often buy bottles of beer to take home as a beer collection , but beer has a short shelf life and bottles take up space and there are restrictions on alcohol, so recently I’ve given up on collecting beer and just enjoy it when I’m abroad . I also used to buy a lot of wine, and even now I’ll still buy one or two bottles of wine to take home . If I have the space, I’ll buy a bottle of each when I go to a famous winery so I can enjoy it later . Shall we make plans next… ? I get asked this question a lot, and if I’m traveling with friends or family or there are a lot of people and I think it will be difficult to travel, I will try to research and make reservations, but if I’m traveling alone, I just decide based on how I feel at the time.I might make a reservation for the next day, or the day before.Of course, it’s better to have a plan, and there will be days when you ‘ll think, “Oh, I managed to do this on the same day ,” but I think that’s also the joy of traveling.Rather than making plans, I would rather mark things down , and then think, “ I want to do this, and that,” and then think, ` `Oh, so this is close on this day, so let’s do this, this, and that.” On the plane, do you prefer a window seat or an aisle seat? I really try my best to sleep in economy class ! 、このままだとまたまた今日まで待っていてくださ いね! English: In those cases, I ‘ll of course aim for an empty seat in economy , but if there aren’t any available , I’ll sit by the window, put a neck pillow on, and lean it against the back like this so I can sleep. In that case, if I ‘ve already planned to brush my teeth before boarding the plane and not eat any in -flight meals, and have used the toilet beforehand , and I’m really just going to sleep … I’ll choose a window seat , but for example, if the flight isn’t that long … I usually sit by the aisle when flying. This concludes the Q&A. Also , if there’s anything else you’d like to ask, I’d be happy if you could let me know in the comments, even if it’s just a stamp. Next ~ This walking series is now in its third year, and Chapter 3 is about to begin in Taiwan, so I wondered if there was anything new I could do? That’s why I decided to open a note . What will I post on note? That’s what I’m saying… I’d like to post all sorts of things, such as things about life abroad or traveling abroad that I couldn’t make into videos , and I’d like to share them with you all through words and photos … I’d be happy to use note to communicate with you all a little more and hear from you all, so please take a look at this note if you’d like . This was the last announcement. From now on, I’d like to continue focusing on well -being and health , including things I like about living abroad and my own impressions. I’d be happy if you continue to watch . From now on , I’ll be delivering videos based in Taiwan again. That was Tamami’s Walk From Taiwan. Thank you very much. Bye -bye. Please watch again.
