【ひとり日帰り千葉旅】限定の芋スイーツが主役。香取神宮と小江戸・佐原で味わうごほうび時間。

I heard that the sweetest sweet potato in Japan is located here, so I took a day trip to Sawara, Chiba, by bus from the Yaesu exit of Tokyo Station. The bus arrived in an area where the old townscape remains. I immediately headed to a shop selling Kinmitsuimo (sweet potato) with a maximum sugar content of 75 degrees. It is open only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The shop had popular baked sweet potatoes and puddings available for mail order. First, I tried the Kinmitsuimo gnocchi. The sweet potato has a gentle natural sweetness, and the richness of the cheese hits me hard. For dessert, I chose gelato. At the bottom was a paste of Kinmitsuimo raspberry , pistachio, and caramel gelato. I imagined it would be sweeter, but everything had a gentle taste. It would have been nice to have a rich dessert like tiramisu. Apparently , reservations are required for the giant castle-shaped parfait . Now that I’m full, I’ll get some exercise. I rented a bicycle here. After about 15 minutes of cycling, I arrived at the entrance to Katori Shrine. The approach to the shrine is bustling with soba restaurants and Japanese confectionery shops. Katori Shrine is Chiba’s most powerful power spot, mentioned in the “Nihon Shoki” (Chronicles of Japan), and is said to bring good luck in competitions. It is said to be a place to make up your mind, and the autumn leaves are at their best around the end of November . There are many highlights, so the course is planned accordingly. The dazzling red vermilion-painted tower gate is a sight to behold, as it has stood here since the Edo period. The main hall was also built in 1690 during the Edo period, but is currently being repainted in preparation for the once-every-twelve-years grand festival next year. If you go around to the back, you can see the black lacquered main hall, which is rare nationwide. The three cedars connected at the base are one of the power spots. The lantern featured a deer, a messenger of the gods of Katori Shrine. The next power spot is the keystone. It is said that this stone holds down the tail of a catfish underground, and by gazing at the stone you can share its power. Then we head to the inner shrine, the most powerful spot, where the wild spirit of Futsunushi-no-Okami is enshrined. The older you get, don’t you find yourself being forced to make more decisions? Whenever I want to make a decision about my future career choices or how to change the distance between me and my family, I ask God for a push in the right direction. It ‘s not a matter of praying to God , but rather a declaration of resolve, so I feel refreshed when I visit a shrine or temple. The former first torii gate of Katori Shrine is located along the Tone River. It is said that the enshrined deity, Futsunushi-no-Okami, crossed the sea and landed on the Tone River. The torii gate and the Tone River are both majestic and exude warmth rather than strength.People in the past must have seen this view before heading to Katori Shrine. The view at sunset is said to be even more beautiful.I went to the grounds of Yasaka Shrine to see the floats for the Sawara Grand Festival and it was even more majestic and bigger than I expected! The float is in the form of a doll on top of it , and it is said to be the largest float in Japan with dolls. The sculpture on the right, which has a large back, has an interesting story to tell. I think the sculpture on the right is an elephant. Large dolls were on display on the third floor. These are works by famous puppeteers and are valuable cultural heritage. We have returned to the Little Edo of Sawara. It is fun to watch the small boats turn skillfully. Have a good time. At exactly 3:00 pm, the water began to fall from the Jaja Bridge. This scene has been selected as one of the “100 Soundscapes of Japan to be Preserved.” Right next to the Jaja Bridge is the former home of Ino Tadataka. Ino Tadataka was a great man of Edo who walked all over Japan and completed a map of Japan. He ran his family business in this place in Sawara. I started walking at the age of 50. I wonder if Ino Tadataka also saw this view. I wonder if Ino Tadataka also saw this view. This is a surveying instrument that measures the angle of the stars to determine one’s position. Ino Tadataka improved the accuracy of maps by measuring the position of the stars. Step by step in an era before artificial satellites, Ino Tadataka’s achievements were engraved in my heart through Tatekawa Shinosuke’s rakugo story “The Road to the Great River.” I was so excited when I heard rakugo for the first time that I came to Sawara. On the other side of Omoide Bridge is the Ino Tadataka Memorial Museum. It operates as an old Japanese-style cafe, and appeared as a second-hand bookstore in the TV drama “Tokyo Bandwagon.” It is an impressive exhibit where the map made by satellite matches Ino’s map perfectly! A little further from the memorial hall is another location used in the drama: the old-style restaurant “Ristorante Casa Alberata.” This was the gate to the house where the main couple lived in “Bright Waves, a Perfect Day for Meoto.” I returned to the other side of Tadataka Bridge and bought some roasted sweet potatoes again at the first restaurant I visited, “Kinmitsudo.” This is a tourist rest area with a lovely courtyard. Kinmitsu sweet potatoes taste the sweetest and happiest when eaten roasted. I also ate some honey-soaked lemons, which relieved my fatigue. As the evening approached, the blue sky spread out before me. I took the return bus from the north exit of Sawara Station, so we passed the station. The sunset, like melting candy, looked delicious. I took the 4:33pm bus to Tokyo Station. I reluctantly got up and headed out on a solo trip during a busy time at work. Filled with sweets, I straightened my back in the sacred atmosphere and felt like my heart and mind were refreshed. I hope everyone can have some time to refresh themselves and start the days from tomorrow with a renewed spirit .
