奄美市市制施行20周年記念「第62回 奄美まつり」八月踊り
2025年8月2日、名瀬の街を舞台に繰り広げられた八月踊り。
シマ（集落）で暮らすみなさん、郷友会・シマ出身のみなさんが、代々受け継いできたリズムと想いを胸に舞います。
そして観光客のみなさんが一緒になって踊る姿は、まさに奄美の夏の風物詩。
歴史ある文化が、今もなお息づいています。

Commemorating the 20th Anniversary of Amami City’s Municipal Status
The 62nd Amami Matsuri — Hachigatsu Odori
On August 2, 2025, the city streets of Naze came alive with Hachigatsu Odori.
Residents of local *shima* (communities), members of hometown associations, and those with roots in the island danced with rhythms and spirit passed down through generations.
Tourists, too, joined in — dancing hand in hand with locals in a scene that captures the true essence of summer in Amami.
This timeless tradition continues to thrive, resonating in the hearts of all who gather.

奄美まつりは、鹿児島県奄美市で毎年開催される奄美大島最大の夏祭りです。
舟こぎ競争、八月踊り、そして活気に満ちたパレードなど、奄美ならではの伝統文化を体感できます。

Amami Matsuri is the largest summer festival held annually in Amami City, located on Amami Oshima in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.
