【山口観光】山口ドライブ旅行で美祢市観光からの下関グルメを堪能!山口旅行vlog

: Beautiful natural scenery, scenery that seems like the end of the world, my trip to Yamaguchi was just amazing, it’s been a while since my last road trip to Yamaguchi Prefecture , I enjoyed the spectacular drive, walked through beautiful scenery that was so hidden , discovered some great gourmet food that’s recommended for when you’re a little hungry, found some mysterious places that are so much fun to take commemorative photos , and ate a lot of delicious sushi, I enjoyed it from morning to night, so please watch until the end, it’s been a while since my last trip to Yamaguchi, it’s been about two years since I’ve had a full-fledged trip to Yamaguchi, it’s been two years since I arrived at Yamaguchi Ube Airport, it’s been two years since I got a rental car from here , if you walk 400 meters you can also get there by train, there’s some kind of amusement park-like thing, what’s this, an airplane , it’s nice, the atmosphere of this town is nice , I got the rental car, there’s a fish shop near the airport that apparently has takeout sashimi and sushi, so I stopped by there, it’s been raining a lot in September and October so I was a little depressed, but it’s great, today I’m in Mine City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, I’ll mainly be sightseeing in Mine City, and then go to Shimonoseki at night. I’ll be using Shimonoseki as my base for a three-day, two-night road trip around Yamaguchi Prefecture. I’m hungry. I remember the food being good in Yamaguchi Prefecture, so maybe my brain is just remembering. I’m suddenly hungry. The food around here looks good too. I can’t drink alcohol, let alone eat, so I don’t go to izakayas at all, but there are a lot of izakayas that serve creative cuisine that are quite good when you travel. They have local fish, and if you want to try a little bit of everything, izakayas are a good option. I thought that since it was the area around the airport , it would be a long, rural landscape, but it was actually quite thriving. There were a few restaurants here and there, and apartment buildings were lined up. I decided to buy mainly sashimi at the fish shop at my destination , so I bought two packs of sashimi, a seafood roll, and seafood takoyaki. Surprisingly, seafood takoyaki and seafood roll. Natural yellowtail sashimi from Ube, and sea bass sashimi from Ube. All four for 2,000 yen, which was quite reasonable , so I decided to start with what to eat. Shall we have sea bass, seafood rolls , takoyaki and yellowtail? So we started with the yellowtail, it’s delicious , really crunchy , it’s been a while since I’ve had sashimi, the soy sauce is good, sushi is good but the sashimi is also good, this is the real joy of a road trip, this is good, next is sea bass, the yellowtail is even better, the sea bass is really good, it’s good but we have a long drive ahead of us so eating sushi will make me a little sleepy, we’ll have sushi for dinner and sashimi for lunch looks good It’s a rare size, it ‘s just the right size , it’s hard to find the right size, this is really big, quite a size The seafood roll was also good , at first bite I thought the yellowtail was better but afterwards it was like it was mixed in with all the different flavors and it was really delicious, the takoyaki was unexpectedly cold as it wasn’t microwaved, it was just regular seafood takoyaki , it was delicious even cold, it’s the first time I’ve eaten it, it was surprisingly good even cold, it was surprisingly edible I never thought I’d eat takoyaki on a trip but sometimes it’s okay, thank you for the meal, it was delicious, on our way to our first destination today Is that a ginkgo tree? It feels like it’s been a while since I’ve seen this yellow-green color. I wasn’t even thinking about autumn leaves on this trip . From Ube Airport, I headed towards Hagi/Akiyoshido. I wonder what the hell that huge torii gate is called. Kotosaki Hachimangu Shrine. Here, National Route 490 is a long way. There are two or three lanes, so there aren’t any traffic jams. I’m heading to Ube Interchange. I’m heading towards Kitakyushu. I mean , last time, or rather, it was a while ago when I was on a trip to Miyazaki (a road trip). I said I wanted to feel the local atmosphere instead of taking the highway, but this time I’m going to use the highway. The distance I’m traveling is quite long . Also, it’s already November, so the daylight hours are getting shorter, so I’ll use the highway as much as possible while sightseeing. I’m getting off at Onoda IC. Before going to the Akiyoshidai area in Mine City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, I found a roadside station with a foot bath and other things, so I thought I’d stop by there and see a really mysterious tourist spot nearby before going to Akiyoshidai. I’m really looking forward to the scenery. Wow , wow, the suddenly open view is really nice. It’s a tranquil view. However, the wind was really strong today, so if there was nothing blocking it, the car would be blown away . I never thought about seeing the autumn leaves in the autumn foliage season. After driving a few kilometers, I entered Sanyo Onoda City. Anyway, the atmosphere is great. When it’s sunny, the view is really open the moment you come out of the tunnel, so the sense of openness is completely different. Isn’t there two characters too many? (Maybe it’s just my imagination) I wonder if I should take the local roads from here. I guess I’ll just be driving along the national highway ? Well, if it’s a main road like this, it’s fine. It’s 19km to Mine. From here, take Prefectural Route 71. Continue along the road to your destination for 23km, straight ahead, and you’ll see the roadside station. Is that the Susa River? There’s a river flowing on the left (the view is amazing). National Route 316 has a great view from here , heading towards the mountains . And it’s also recommended for driving on sunny days. The temperature right now is 16 degrees. If it’s sunny, it’s absolutely beautiful . At 16 degrees, the view is amazing, but there’s no space to park. We’ve entered Mine City, and the sign is barely visible. 帰りました。 English: It’s great. There’s abundant nature and beautiful scenery. It’s really beautiful. The river we passed earlier was beautiful, but this rural scenery is nice too. Wow , even though I’m not from here at all , I feel like I’m back. It’s like I’m back . It’s very easy to drive, there are hardly any curves. Yamaguchi Prefecture and Kyushu really have a lot of places that are perfect for a driving trip (Kyushu is amazing because there are no bears). If you go a little off course and towards the mountains, there are many places with great views. The size of the trees has changed, they’ve gotten bigger. It’s 12.4km from our destination. There are these P signs here and there, I wonder if there’s something to them? Maybe they’re just places to take a break . I see, there was a bit of traffic congestion because of the construction. Traveling on weekdays is great because there are fewer people at tourist spots and the restaurants are empty, but there’s the risk of regular holidays and temporary closures, and road construction is generally carried out on weekdays, so this is what happens. With a tunnel this long, I wonder if the roadside station I’m on now has a foot bath and a restaurant? I’m looking forward to seeing all the facilities. Wow, it ‘s amazing. But, with a tunnel this long and alternating traffic, this is what happens. There’s a lot of traffic, and it’s amazing how much traffic there is in a place like this. It’s so easy to drive. It’s about 20km straight without a single turn , and then we’ll arrive in 6km. The road is so straight that it’s almost dangerous to drive when you’re sleepy. On my last trip to Yamaguchi , I went around Akiyoshidai and Nagato , and there were so many stink bugs flying around, it was unbelievable. There are stink bugs, I wonder what it will be like in 2025. And then we arrive at the Ofuku Roadside Station. Is this the entrance? This isn’t a roadside station, it’s the entrance to Okufu Onsen. Oh, we don’t have time, so we’ll skip the hot springs. We’ll skip the hot springs . This is the entrance to the Ofuku Roadside Station. It’s crowded, even though it’s in the mountains like this. Oh well, the 40km drive went by in a flash. With beautiful scenery , time flies by. We’ve arrived . The Ofuku Roadside Station is so beautiful. If we come back in two weeks, the leaves will be more autumnal and it will look nice. There’s also a sauna here. Courtyard, bathroom, open-air bath, sauna. Wow, I’m intrigued. Burdock croquettes. But I’ll try it later. It’s like this. Segway tour . Tuk-tuk for three people. Minetuk. Amazing. At this time of year it ‘s not this green, but maybe it’s brown now. It feels like Aso. Good fortune frog Kero-kun. There’s also a foot bath here. Free entry from 11am to 5pm. What a beautiful view. This mountain suits the blue sky, so let’s get it . Let’s eat it while it’s still warm . Delicious . I think it’s the flavor of burdock. It ‘s kind of chewy on the outside and crispy on the inside. This is delicious. All of this is 250 yen. Isn’t it a potato? Maybe it’s a taro? Roadside station Ofuku! Thank you. All the baths are fed by natural hot springs . If I had time, I would have liked to try the hot springs. This roadside station has a sauna. Amazing . Wow . Wow. The view is amazing. This road is quite a good driving course. The leaves are red only here! : Wow, the scenery was really beautiful, Yamaguchi Prefecture after all . I wonder where I should go on my next trip, and I think Yamaguchi Prefecture isn’t really on the list of places to go, but even if you don’t live nearby or live in the Kanto region, you should definitely go. Next up, we head to Beppu Benten Pond. From here on, the road suddenly seems narrower, so you have to follow the signs. This is it. The water here
is so beautiful, and the color of the pond is beautiful. It feels like Oshino Hakkai (Mount Fuji area). The water is so beautiful. It’s been two years since I last came here, and it’s just as impressive as the first time. I’m glad I went every two years, but I never get bored of going back. And anyway , the scenery is so mystical. As I continue down this road, there is Benten Pond. The water is so beautiful , so beautiful. Amazing. No, it’s beautiful on video, but with the naked eye : I wonder, it ‘s like ripples in the water, or rather , if the water wasn’t moving, it would be mysterious. It ‘s quite crowded from the parking lot. This pond is really beautiful, so let’s take a commemorative photo from every angle in 360 degrees.Oh , it ‘s amazing no matter how many times I look at it.This place is so amazing. It’s so blue.Amazing.I even took a beautiful photo with my iPhone. The reflection of the autumn leaves is so good.Maybe it would be better to include the torii gate. You can just stare blankly.I realized how deep it is from here.It ‘s really deep. The reflection is a little too much from here, so it looks better from over there. The maple leaves are reflected, Benzaiten and a restaurant.By the way, Benten Pond is located in the grounds of Beppu Itsukushima Shrine.Wow , this fish looks like it ‘s floating in the air.If you look closely, there are lots of them.It was a wonderful view. And there’s also this in the parking lot ?Scarecrow, scarecrow zone. What does this mean ?A tiger. If you look closely, there’s even one that says Grand Prix.Scarecrow ?神楽坂 山登り 徒歩 3分 English: I wonder if there was a contest for bears. I heard there are bears there , so I went to Benten Pond . The scenery was amazing. Next, I’m heading to the Akiyoshidai area . From here, I’ll drive around the karst area first while the sun is rising and the weather is good , and then I’ll go to Akiyoshi Cave. This road is also nice. The road to my next destination has a great view, and I never got bored of driving . There are 3.4km left until my next destination, and the curves are suddenly increasing. It feels a bit like a mountain road, but it’s easy to drive. Stone Town. Another 3km to Akiyoshidai , and Akiyoshi Cave is just 400m away. Akiyoshi Cave is amazing, it’s well maintained, and the Akiyoshidai Tourist Exchange Center is around here. You could spend half a day here. Akiyoshi Cave is crowded, and there are several parking lots, and it’s crowded. There’s also the Akiyoshidai Family Travel Village. It looks like there will be quite a climb from here. I’m going up. This is the direction of the observation deck. From here, there are very steep slopes and curves. Is this the parking lot? I’ve arrived. I’ve arrived at Akiyoshidai . I think I could have driven there, so I’ll go there a bit later. For now, there’s an observation deck and a cafe nearby, so let’s take a look around there. It ‘s like climbing stairs from the parking lot.Well , it came into view after about 2-3 minutes of walking. The altitude is a bit high here, so the wind is cold. It’s quite high, 1,300 meters above sea level? Maybe 1,350m? ? The writing has disappeared. Oh, this isn’t an observation deck . There are also bicycle rentals. Tuk-tuks and rental bicycles. I’m here now, or here. There’s a photo spot and another one a little further away, and I think you can get there by car. If I go further north, there might be one here too. I didn’t go here last time, so this time I’ll go there too. Next up is Akiyoshidai Quasi-National Park, one of the largest karst landmasses in Japan . Akiyoshidai was born as a coral reef about 350 million years ago, and over the years it transformed into limestone, which accumulated from the sea to the mountains until it was 500 to 1000 meters thick. Rainwater flowed there , dissolving the limestone and creating the current topography. The many limestones scattered here and there were buried underground and were raised to the surface by plate movements. It ‘s said to contain many fossils of marine life. There’s apparently a road about three kilometers from here. This is my first time on a karst road drive, and I turned back here last time, so I’m going to go, go, go, go, go! I’m heading towards Prefectural Route 242. The views are sure to be great, it’s a nice time of day , and it’s sunny. I wasn’t expecting it to be like this at the time, so I was really excited. It’s amazing , I wonder why I didn’t go through it last time , it’s definitely worth a drive, it’s so different from Aso and Kasuga , it’s amazing, both sides are amazing, there are surprisingly few cars, this place is amazing , there’s no parking space, so I’ll take it easy and it would be good for touring too (they have moped rentals). There’s apparently a parking space about a kilometer further, so I’ll go and see the view. Chojagamori? The parking lot is 200 meters from here. I can’t walk from here, right? Is there a walking path? Ah, there are quite a few cars parked here too . Hey hey , I wonder how to get there. It’s quite a view. If you go further, the view is amazing. The right side is amazing. There’s a parking space up ahead, and apparently there’s a rock that looks like Snoopy. Let’s take a look over there. ” Wow , wow, wow” is all I can think of . It’s completely different from before. This is quite something, isn’t it? Hey hey, it’s amazing . What’s below is also amazing. Can you walk on this? Is this a promenade? The view is amazing . Akiyoshidai is the best. The sky feels so closeThis place is amazingPlease subscribe to the channelThere is also a large parking space here, so it is recommended for commemorative photosKaisui, where spring water returns undergroundThe depression that spreads out in front of you is named KaisuiThis place name comes from the fact that groundwater springs up at the bottom of the depression, flows for about 10 meters, and then is absorbed back into the groundWhen it rains continuously, the ground is unable to absorb all the water and it temporarilyThe Snoopy rock that I mentioned earlier seems to climb up this quite steep slopeSo we climb up hereThis is the promenadeSo does that mean we climb this or this? Lol, it’s no longer a road, it’s pretty rough. Looking at it like this , you would never think that this was the entrance, but I ‘ve seen people enter from here and Google Maps definitely says this is the place. It’s amazing, it’s like a hidden gem, if you climb up here it becomes a road. Ah, wow, just a short climb and the view is amazing. It ‘s called a road, but it’s rough. Well, it’s a steep road that you wouldn’t climb if it was your first trip. This is the landmark. Apparently there is this batten Snoopy rock, so I have to see it . My iPhone case is also Snoopy, so the area around Snoopy is starting to gentler. It ‘s quite a view . Isn’t it amazing? Looking at it like this, how did they get up there? You’d think, “Wow, this is the beginning, lol. I walked a little way from the parking lot and started climbing from around here, and here I am now. Well, this is the beginning . If I don’t hesitate for the first minute, I can make it . There’s still a lot to climb, quite a bit to climb. Once I get this far, it’s already a path . How do I get there ? Well, there aren’t any weird bugs from here. You should wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Going further, I came to a place that was like heaven. Wow, this is limestone. A huge rock . It’s like another world. Amazing , really. My excitement was rising with this beautiful, otherworldly scenery. Is n’t it really amazing? Seriously, another world . Finally, I found the Snoopy rock I was looking for. It seems to be Snoopy rock! だわ 。 English: Now that you mention it, this place is amazing too. It ‘s a little far away, so I had someone take a photo with Zoom, but the atmosphere of this background is really amazing . The path to get here is quite steep, so I recommend non-slip shoes. I feel like just strolling around aimlessly for 1-2 hours. This area is easy to walk around, but the first step was difficult. This side looks easier to walk on (I don’t know how to get there lol). It’s quite difficult to get down here, so be prepared to get hurt . The clothing is good. It might be a good idea to come with athletics-level spike shoes . It might be scary if your feet don’t have something to grip. It might be best not to come the day after a rainy day. This place is quite slippery, and sometimes there are places where you slip just on the mud, and the angle is steep. I think if you’re a regular hiker, you’ll be fine, but this is the most important part – the very first 2-3 meters. Here , you must not hesitate. There’s grass growing up to waist height here , but if you can go here without hesitation, you’ll be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Also, here, you’ll slip the moment you land, and Plus the grass was as hard as tree roots and both my feet got caught in them, plus I couldn’t get my hands to move properly to protect the camera I was holding. At first it didn’t hurt, but the next day it was bad… For the first time in my life I gouged my palm (the bleeding stopped immediately). It was a bit of an emergency, so I went here first and got first aid . I’m glad this place was there. They gave me bandages and stuff (it helped). My knee injury earlier was a bit big , but I’m really glad they had the ones I had earlier. Thankfully , it was my wrist that was the worst (my wrist still hurts 7 days later…). I think I parked in the farthest parking lot of all places . This area is closed. 帰りましたら、 観音様連れのご参加も大歓迎です 。 English: Since it’s raining, I thought that was the only place to park, but there was a 200 yen place a little nearby. Turn right at the sign there and go straight and you’ll reach the entrance. No way, I never thought I’d fall that hard. I thought it was just grass lying around, but it was really strong grass (like a trap). Next time I’ll definitely not jump . This is how you remember. I wonder what it’s like at this time of day. Are there any restaurants open? I walk a lot, surprisingly . If you go straight again from here you’ll find Akiyoshido. It ‘s about 300 meters to Akiyoshido, but it’s still about halfway, so it’s quite a walk . From that parking lot it might be about 600-700 meters. Kappa-sama, please heal your wounds. It ‘s great, I’ve walked quite a bit. I can see the entrance. From here I’ll have to walk even further, so I went in. It’s 1,600 yen per adult. The sun has gone down a bit and it’s getting dark. It’s a very picturesque road. It’s so beautiful. What is this ? Seen from halfway down this bridge. This is so beautiful. This place is amazing too, it’s so blue, so we arrived at the entrance to Akiyoshi Cave. It’s a truly mystical sight! It was so big! The adventure course Apparently, for an additional 300 yen you can walk the adventure course. We can’t adventure any further today. It’s 25 metres high and 235 metres wide , with a total length of 11.2 km, the second longest in Japan. The temperature is 17 degrees all year round, so it’s warm and comfortable to visit in the winter. It’s really huge! Is this the next spot ? A really large pond? It’s so deep! Quite deep! The fences suddenly disappear here ! It’s like a dungeon ! It has a Harry Potter kind of atmosphere! This is called Senmachida! The estimated sightseeing time is 60 minutes, but any further would mean climbing stairs, so I give up and head back. But it only took about 20 minutes, and I was able to see quite a lot of different views, so it was great! I finally made it back this far! This might be the most amazing part, with the reflections on the water’s surface, it’s also mysterious! It feels like Princess Mononoke! Wow, Akiyoshido Cave is great! I’ll continue southwest and have sushi in Shimonoseki! I’m looking forward to it! I also wanted to go to the conveyor belt sushi restaurant on the second floor of Karato Market , but it’s only open during the day, so I can’t go on this trip! Sad, sad, seriously! However, I’m planning to stop by a roadside station tomorrow for lunch, which apparently serves sushi, so I’ll have some sushi. It’s 50km from here to Shimonoseki ! It’s so dazzling ! Hooray! On to Shimonoseki city! And here I am again this year! Come on , Wharf (this is Karato Market) ! Amazing!! It’s so beautiful when illuminated by the setting sun, and the colors of this sunset are so beautiful. The atmosphere is amazing. This port town is so beautiful. It’s a view that you should see with your own eyes. This sunset is amazing. It’s a wonderful view. This time of day is really nice. The view Parking in the Kamon Wharf car park is tricky, as you have to go all the way around from Karato Market and enter from here They’ve only just opened so it looks like you’ll be able to eat without waiting in line We’ve arrived at Kamon Wharf and for now we’ll head to the sushi restaurant on the second floor It’s across the main street I’ve never been there before This shopping street seems to have a lot to offer Karato Harete Yokocho The atmosphere on the second floor is also quite nice It’s my first time coming from this side I did n’t know there was a street like this So we went inside Sushi is for dinner tonight Ordering is done from the touch panel There are so many different types of tuna alone on the menu There are 23 pages of options, of which sushi is 13 pages long The menu was so extensive I was overwhelmed but I ordered my favourite salmon, Karato Market related dishes and Shimonoseki specialties Since I was there I also ordered the fugu zanmai set It seems they also offer takeout and there was also chirashi sushi The view is amazing The horse mackerel was delicious! Recommendations Overall it’s delicious, the horse mackerel is also good, and the blackthroat seaperch . In the end the salmon was so good I wanted seconds. It ‘s delicious. Kitakyushu is amazing, it ‘s pretty much one of the best in the country. It ‘s a port town, so it has a great night atmosphere. Shimonoseki and Mojiko are romantic. There’s also a Level 99 smartphone stand. This place has a great atmosphere too. And there are lots of Fuku here. Wow, it’s so emotional. I really love the night atmosphere of Shimonoseki . This feeling is really good. Oh, this place looks good too. The souvenir market. I’ve never been here before. There are lots of other things besides sushi, like souvenir shops. Kameyama Hachiman Shrine . Seriously, this is beautiful. I’m glad I was able to eat sushi in Shimonoseki again this year . I’d also like to try the sushi at Karato Market, but it’s only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and for some reason the days never work out. If it was only on weekdays, it would be nice if it was only for lunch. There’s a conveyor belt sushi restaurant on the second floor, which is amazing . It’s such a great place, but there are hardly any people walking around. Maybe it’s because it’s cold, but it would be nice if it was more crowded. The location is really good (I don’t want it to be crowded). Anyway
, I enjoyed the sushi and looked at the night view. It was a wonderful night after my walk. It was a wonderful night, or rather , it ‘s only 6:30 PM. I’m checking into tonight’s hotel. Tonight’s hotel is the familiar Dormy Inn, a Shimonoseki favorite. It’s great because it has a sauna (or maybe a shower today). This time, I’m staying in a twin room with a monitor! (TV?) And the table is just the right size . It’s spacious and nice. I’d like to stay here for about 10 nights. Plus, this bed has two outlets, a refrigerator, and free desserts like these. Moist orange financier water is included. Plus, there’s a sauna, a cold bath, pajama sets, and towels. Wow , it was delicious ! Thank you for the treat! I’ll have some ice cream. So, today, I enjoyed sightseeing and driving, mainly in Mine City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. By the way, tomorrow we will be driving along the coast of Shimonoseki and enjoying the spectacular views of the north side.
