Good morning! We are a newlywed, unemployed couple traveling around Japan on our honeymoon, eating lots of delicious food all over the country. Today we are heading to Rishiri Island, the second leg of our remote island trip. This is the remote island edition. It’s that island on this side of Hokkaido that says, ” Which way is this?” or ” Ponpon?” The explanations are always confusing , so we are now at the ferry terminal to go to the island, so we will board the ferry. You can get there from Wakkanai, so we will take the ferry. Let’s go ! Remote island! Rishiri! It’s embarrassing, isn’t it ? Let ‘s go! Boarding procedures. Let’s board! Let’s go! Let’s get on that! Now we are on board. We got the cheapest second-class seats, so we are here now. It is the cheapest, so it is 14,360 yen for two people round trip. We do not have a car . We left our car in Wakkanai , so today we will enjoy Rishiri Island without a car. We will find out how to get around when we arrive. It’s nice, it’s empty and there is no one around. It takes surprisingly an hour and a half from Wakkanai, so let ‘s enjoy a leisurely boat trip, eat some food, and go to sleep. Let’s enjoy our first time on Rishiri Island! Sea urchins feed on kelp. All the holes in the sea urchins are where they have nibbled. Choose one based on your intuition. Which one should we choose? Sweet and delicious.The Rishiri sea urchin here is luxurious and apparently they only eat Rishiri kelp, so they said it has a subtle kelp flavor, but the subtle kelp scent is delicious.My husband (who doesn’t like sea urchin) is eating it too.It’s delicious ! This is delicious , but even if you don’t like sea urchin, you can eat Hokkaido sea urchin. It’s fine without soy sauce. It was all gone in no time. The sea urchin was just picked up from the fish tank and freshly cut, so I thought it might have a fishy smell, but it did n’t have a fishy smell at all. It was fresh, plump, sweet, and delicious. Thank you for the meal . I’m glad I was able to eat Rishiri sea urchin too. It’s the best . I didn’t explain this properly until just now because we had a reservation, but this time we rented a motor. We rented a moped. It’s 3,000 yen per person for a day, or 6,000 yen for two people. Renting a car on Rishiri Island is quite expensive. You could also get around by bicycle, but it’s difficult to get around the whole island, so even considering the price, a moped is a good deal. Let’s go back the way we came and eat at that restaurant we were at earlier . We’re heading out on our mopeds again, and we’re off. Wait , wait! My husband kept going without noticing, and I was left behind because the engine wouldn’t start , but he didn’t notice at all. The engine wouldn’t start , and he forgot to brake, and only noticed quite a ways down the road. Are you OK, husband ? I forgot to brake, so the engine wouldn’t start! Sorry , let’s go! We’re leaving ! It’s really windy! I checked to make sure I hadn’t forgotten anything, but the only thing I forgot was my sunglasses, which I was wearing a half-helmet, so sunglasses were a must! A huge bug just hit me in the face and it really hurt! Apparently the wind speed is about 5 or 6 m/s today, so it’s really strong! It’s really windy, but I ‘ll do my best ! Rishiri Ramen Miraku Main Branch So, for lunch, we went to Ramen Miraku. It’s a famous ramen shop in Rishiri. It ‘s said to be the hardest ramen shop to get to in Japan, as you can’t even get there in a day from Tokyo. That’s why we came to this place! It’s located inside the Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum in Yokohama. We had eaten there once before, and since then, we’ve been talking about wanting to eat at the main branch in Rishiri. It’s been about three years , so it’s been a dream come true. It was really crowded; they started signing in at 8 a.m., and we signed in around 9:40 a.m. During the summer, they open at 11 a.m., but even so, we were probably about the 12th group. It’s a remote island on a weekday, so it’s amazing, everyone must have come! All the tourists gathered? I just ordered so I’m waiting for the ramen. The grilled soy sauce ramen (large) has arrived . It’s amazing! My stomach is growling and the chorus of my stomach won’t stop. I ordered a large portion. Let’s eat ! The flavor of the grilled soy sauce is delicious. And these noodles. They’re yellow, smooth and chewy, and they have my favorite wood ear mushrooms in them . The texture of the wood ear mushrooms when eaten together is the best. They should be eaten together . I’ll eat it too . It’s so good! The aroma of the grilled soy sauce is amazing. Amazing . The steam is delicious , even just the steam is delicious . Amazing. The aroma of the soy sauce is amazing, isn’t it? I’m being ignored . The pork slices are huge! I ‘m eating a lot. They ‘re so big! Let’s eat ! Now the rice is delicious. I ordered this grated kelp as a topping, so I’d like to add it. I said I’d add it a little at a time because it absorbs the soup. Grated kelp IN! But I have some unfortunate news. I discovered that I had passed the place I was most looking forward to. No, I didn’t forget, I just didn’t know where it was . Apparently, I had passed it before I realized it. This is where my sense of direction started to show. There was a place where you could see wild seals. That was what I was most looking forward to, but aren’t the little Moai the most exciting thing? Not the little Moai! *Excuse me! So we’ve arrived at Hime Numa. We can see the swamp and Rishiri Fuji from a different angle than before. Rishiri Fuji looks like two mountains from here. It feels like two completely different mountains. Amazing. The upside-down Mt. Fuji is actually beautiful here, but it’s windy today so we can’t see it . If there wasn’t any wind it might look beautiful. But we can still see a beautiful Rishiri Fuji. The sun is shining on half of it, which looks nice. Apparently you can go around the whole area, and while walking around you might be able to see a long-tailed tit, but we’re running out of time so we won’t explore. We’ll give up on the walk. There might be long-tailed tits around here even in summer, so we’ll try looking around here. We didn’t see them. This journey is almost over. We’ll arrive at our first port, Oshidomari, in about 10 minutes. It’s cold . Wait! It’s cold! Finishing at Oshidomari Port ! 値段や体力的なことも考え今回は初めての原付をレンタル🛵

これが最高に楽しかった😊

1日中晴れていたから
利尻富士はずっと綺麗だったし
なんといっても利尻グルメが美味すぎた！

ウニは昆布の出汁を感じたし
ラーメンは焼き醤油の香り・味が最高でした…

去年は行けなかった稚内・利尻
今年行けて本当によかった！

次は礼文も行くぞ！

次回はいよいよ道東へ！
