【ホテル宿泊記】沖縄・はいむるぶしが大人の楽園に進化!日本最南端のビーチリゾートの全てを超詳細レビュー | インフィニティプール、新客室、SPA、アクティビティ |八重山小浜島

This time, my husband and I visited Ishigaki Island in Okinawa Prefecture. We headed to the Euglena Ishigakijima Remote Island Terminal, about 20 minutes from the airport. We were heading to the resort on Kohama Island for the first time in four years. We bought our ferry tickets. There was also a convenience store and souvenir shop. The terminal had a counter reserved for guests, where you could leave your luggage and enjoy sightseeing on Ishigaki Island while waiting for the ferry. They also offer luggage delivery services to the hotel. This ferry terminal is where boats connect the Yaeyama Islands. It took about 25 minutes from Ishigaki Port to Kohama Island. We boarded a ferry like this. We departed. I felt excited about the start of an extraordinary experience. I had a wonderful time here four years ago, and it has recently been renovated, making it even more enjoyable for adults. Just a few minutes after departure, the sea turned this color. It’s beautiful. Japan has many beautiful places. We arrived at Kohama Island, surrounded by the largest coral reef in the Northern Hemisphere, in no time. We were greeted by someone holding a boat. A bus was about to take us to the resort. This is what the bus looked like inside. As we started to move, the staff told us all about the island. It’s a small island of about 8 square kilometers with a population of about 700. It’s famous as the filming location for the NHK drama series “Chura-san.” Its untouched nature and laid-back atmosphere make it a charming island unlike any other Yaeyama island. After a seven-minute bus ride, we arrived at the resort entrance. The resort’s vast grounds cover approximately 40 hectares. The entire site is within a national park, making it Japan’s southernmost beach resort. We entered the center house, which houses the front desk and restaurant. The beautiful red-tiled roof and Ryukyu limestone create a typical Yaeyama architecture. The staff warmly welcomed us. “Haimurubushi” is Japan’s southernmost island beach resort. It reopened in July 2025. We immediately went inside. This time, we’ll stay for two nights and three days, enjoying the food, activities, and spa. It’s completely different from my previous visit. We decided to look around later and first checked in. We were given a welcome drink. We were immediately shown to our room. We use a cart to move around the vast resort. After being instructed on how to use it, we enjoyed the resort with it as our companion. A staff member led us to our room in a cart. The resort offers a pleasant breeze. We could see the ocean directly ahead. This time, we stayed in the newly renovated “Kachibai” building. The resort is dotted with guest rooms like this. It looks like this. The accommodation building also features designs that evoke the Yaeyama spirit. We were shown around our room. Let’s begin the room tour. At the entrance, umbrellas, flashlights, and other items for when you go out are neatly organized. Let’s come in. It’s lovely. It’s spacious and very beautiful. Our room is called the “Garden Terrace Premium,” measuring 47 square meters. Our eyes are drawn to the private garden and large daybed. We’re drawn toward the garden. It’s very spacious. The garden is apparently 40 square meters in size. It looks cozy and I like it. It would also be a nice place to have a drink or take a nap. It’s soothing to be immersed in the wind and sounds of a tropical island. Back in the room, let’s take a closer look. There are two semi-double beds, arranged in a Hollywood-style configuration. This is what the bedside area looks like. The interior has a simple, natural design. There’s an outlet, USB, and Type-C at the pillowside. There’s also a daybed, perfect for relaxing. It’s located by the window, so it’s nice to spend time here gazing out the window. Here’s the TV, dining area, and minibar. The card keys have been updated, too. The dining area is also natural. The smart TV offers a variety of information. The minibar is integrated into the desk, offering great flexibility. There’s an electric kettle and ice bucket. There are water dispensers scattered throughout, and pitchers for those. There’s a phone, memo pad, Bluetooth speaker, and lantern. Here’s the refrigerator and freezer. There’s ample storage. Here’s what’s inside the drawer. Glasses and cups. Tea, coffee, and more. Healthy herbal tea, native to Okinawa. Japanese tea, drip coffee. The cups’ natural design and color are a perfect match for Haimurubushi. In the drawer below, you’ll find these items. Inside a cute logo-printed drawstring bag are individual toiletries. These items are inside. Inside another drawstring bag is a hair dryer. Comfortable-looking pajamas. Let’s go into the bathroom at the back. This is the toilet. This is the bath. It’s very spacious. The shampoo comes in an original bottle. The sink looks like this. There are plenty of items available. Bath salts and sheet masks made with natural Okinawan ingredients. A skincare set made in Japan. It also contains makeup remover and lotion. Finally, there’s a closet near the entrance. It also has hangers, a safe, and items useful for playing in the water. What did you think? I’m so happy to see how beautifully and comfortably renovated it has become. I’m planning to spend my time relaxing. For lunch, I went to “The Lounge & Bar” in the center house. It ‘s a relaxing space that serves drinks in the morning, food at lunchtime, and a bar in the evening. Even if you arrive early, you can still enjoy the facility’s pool and restaurant. Stepping out onto the terrace, you’ll find a pool called the “Garden Pool,” which is gently connected to the terrace. You can also eat and drink on the terrace. I’ll eat on the terrace tomorrow. The menu is as follows. I ordered mocktails called “Shell Bleu” and “Rouge.” Shell Bleu evokes the blue of the ocean and the sparkle of shellwork. Rouge evokes the vividness of bougainvillea. Apparently, the three types of rice balls available are very popular. I also ordered a luxurious sandwich with fillings: island wildflowers, plum, ginger-scented oil miso, “Chigina,” and “Jushi.” It’s great to see so many local ingredients, and it’s delicious. I also ordered a roast beef sandwich filled with plenty of Okinawan wagyu beef. It was also juicy and delicious. Thank you for the meal. Let’s explore the resort. We hopped on a cart and strolled around, feeling the breeze. First, we arrived at the beach and pool area. This is one of the areas that has been significantly renovated. The first two-tiered infinity pool on an Okinawan remote island makes you feel connected to the sea. The beautiful ocean and pleasant breeze make for a relaxing time. There are cabanas, and the beach is beautiful. The swimming area is spacious and wonderful. The ocean color is truly beautiful. You can see the other Yaeyama Islands in the distance. The rooftop of the beach cafe. I loved the great view. There was a cute shisa lion statue. It felt great. Opposite the main pool is another pool , the Quiet Pool, reserved for those 16 and older. The atmosphere is nice. This pool also has a beautiful design that seems to connect with the ocean. It was created for adult guests to relax in, and is heated in the winter. There’s even a beach bar and sauna. An authentic container sauna designed by the sauna creative group TTNE. A spacious space with a dynamic panoramic view. We were also given a special tour of the Club Lounge, exclusively available to suite guests . From the lounge, you can see the beautiful ocean so close you can almost reach out and touch it. Here, you can freely enjoy sweets and specialty drinks. They offer original baked goods, herbal teas, and Okinawan brown sugar. They also have original ice cream with Okinawan flavors. I’m also interested in the original blend coffee made with beans from Ishigaki Island. I was also shown a suite room with access to the club lounge. This is the “Ocean View Suite,” a 60-square-meter room. It’s spacious and nice. Above all, it has a great location on the oceanfront. There’s even a hammock, which is perfect. I arrived at the center house. Across from there is the Water Buffalo Pond, where tropical water lilies bloom in abundance. This little creature is the owner of the pond. Her name is Azuki-chan. I had the pleasure of saying hello to her . She apparently came from nearby Yubu Island. She’s so cute. Apparently, there are even repeat visitors just for her. I’m happy to have met her again. Haimurubushi is also home to many other creatures. They’re all loved and live freely, which is very relaxing. The resort has a large public bath called the “Public View Bath” and an open-air bath. You can enjoy the sunset and starry sky from the open-air bath. Finally, I’d like to introduce this unique facility: the Nawa Insect Museum Haimurubushi Branch. Let’s take a closer look inside the center house. First, there’s the lobby , where the reception and activity counter are located. At the back is the Library Lounge, a relaxing space. Live music is performed every night. There’s also a great area where you can pick up a book and read. There’s also a large shop, with a wide selection of resort wear and beautiful Okinawan crafts. There are also delicious local products from Kohama Island, such as mozuku seaweed, mozuku noodles, and brown sugar. There are also many Haimurubushi items, including brown sugar syrup, cookies, and collaboration goods. There’s also a wide variety of awamori. There are also plenty of drinks and snacks to enjoy during your stay, as well as Okinawan souvenirs. They even have a selection of water toys and other items you might suddenly need. Further inside, you’ll find the restaurant area. Enjoy a buffet breakfast and dinner at “The Buffet,” with three walls made of glass, creating a sense of openness. You can even see the ocean. The evening buffet features island pizza baked in a pizza oven and Okinawan Kuroge Wagyu steaks. Further back, there’s “The Steak & Grill,” and I’m really looking forward to having dinner there again today and tomorrow. Enjoy steak and seafood in an elegant atmosphere, illuminated with glittering starry sky-inspired lighting. As dusk approaches, we head out for our special activity: a sunset cruise aboard this catamaran yacht. We had the boat to ourselves, and it was just for us. The captain was a very kind and wonderful person, and it was fun to listen to his stories. We went a little further out to sea. The weather was fine, and we looked forward to a sunset. There was no one else in sight. We toasted with sparkling wine. It was a romantic and wonderful time. Here, we could lie back, daydream, and enjoy doing nothing. The sky gradually changed color, and it was finally time for sunset. We were on the ocean, blown by the wind, and simply gazing at the setting sun. It’s rare to find such a quiet and luxurious experience. It soothed our worn-down hearts from our hectic daily lives. It was a wonderful time. It was perfect for a commemorative trip for adults. It was sure to be an unforgettable experience. Still in a dreamlike state, we headed to dinner at “The Steak & Grill,” which we had seen a little earlier. As it got dark, the starry sky lights on the ceiling were beautiful. First, we chose a drink. There were so many Okinawan options that it was hard to choose. They have a wide selection of wines and whiskeys, both Okinawan and international, as well as Okinawa’s traditional liquor, awamori. For dinner, we chose the prix fixe dinner course. There were plenty of options. For drinks, I ordered “Tida,” an original cocktail inspired by the sun of Kohama Island. My husband ordered Haimurubushi’s original craft beer. It was refreshing and delicious, featuring Okinawan pineapple. We started with appetizers. Both plates were gorgeous and exciting. I chose four dishes featuring local seafood, including yellowfin tuna caught at Ishigaki Port. The yellowfin tuna was lightly smoked. Here, large clams under a jelly. Refreshing and refreshing. I love sea grapes. The scallops were sweet, and the red pepper sauce was delicious. My husband ordered “tebichi (pig’s trotter)” terrine. The sauce, made with Okinawan miso and anchovies, was deep and addictive. Looking outside, torches flickered here and there. It was quiet and cozy. The soup was vichyssoise. It was still hot, so a cold soup was nice. For the main course, we chose a steak made from domestic Japanese black beef. We had a choice of fillet or sirloin, and we chose both and shared half. The sirloin is on the right, and the fillet on the left. We enjoyed it with two types of sauce: Sharibian and Japanese. We also ordered garlic rice. Finally, for dessert, I chose cheesecake. It was stylishly presented, moist, and deliciously subtly sweet. My husband had mascarpone ice cream topped with espresso jelly. The brown sugar crust was exquisite. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. There was live music playing in the lounge, and the atmosphere was lovely. To finish off our day, we drove our cart to a specific location. We arrived at the beach and pool area. Apparently, a stargazing event was about to begin. A short walk away, we found a row of daybeds and binoculars set up. Can you see it? Although the photo didn’t come out well, I could see countless stars, almost without a gap. Even with just an iPhone shot, it looked like this. I was so excited to see Subaru so clearly. The starry sky guide pointed out the stars with a laser and explained the situation. The Yaeyama Islands were Japan’s first designated starry sky sanctuary. Apparently, you can see every first-magnitude star in the sky, as well as 84 of the 88 constellations. The starry sky is actually 100 times more amazing, so I’m sorry I could only capture this one. I also spotted many shooting stars, and it was a wonderful time. This may be the most star-gazing I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m so moved, I’m dazed. I’m looking forward to spending tomorrow and the day after here. Good night. Good morning. It’s the morning of my second day. I came to the beach and pool area to watch the sunrise. The colors are starting to look like they’re about to rise. The sun is rising above the horizon. The light and colors are getting stronger, and I’m feeling energized. It was worth getting up early. I’m so glad I got to see it with my own eyes. As I returned to my room and got ready, the sky quickly turned blue. It promised to be another wonderful day. It was a refreshing morning. It felt so good. I headed to the center house for breakfast. I went to the buffet restaurant I’d seen yesterday. The food area was so spacious. Let’s take a look at what was on the menu. Gurukun’s herb-grilled fish, cold cuts. This French toast looks delicious with their original brown sugar syrup. Rice. Goya Chanpuru. There was a corner where you could make Yaeyama soba. It features a light bonito and pork bone broth and round noodles. They also had yushi tofu soup and rafute curry. There were also various flavors of Blue Seal ice cream. In the drink section, I found Genki Cool, Ishigaki Island’s soul drink. Of course, they had the standard menu, too. They also had bread and sweets. Baby food was also available. Everyone would feel at ease. There was also an egg station. Order by telling them your favorite ingredients. Today’s menu focused on the typical menu of this place. I like Goya Chanpuru. It’s delicious with just the right amount of bitterness. I like to pour a generous amount of Koregusu (Japanese cucumber) over Yaeyama soba noodles. The broth is sweet and delicious. The omelette with seaweed is sure to be delicious. I enjoyed many dishes that are typical of Yaeyama, and it was a very satisfying breakfast. I’ve arranged activities and a spa today so that I can fully enjoy myself. First, I’ll interact with the horses and go horseback riding along the coast. Two very cute horses came to visit: Sanpin-chan and her sister, Chura-chan. They are a native breed called Yonaguni horses, small, gentle, and apparently very friendly. After spending some time with them and receiving a lesson on how to handle the reins, I’ll climb on their backs and start my stroll. My gaze is elevated, and it feels strange. Feeling the warmth, I move briskly along the coast. It was a special time enjoying the nature of Kohama Island while being rocked on horseback. It was also fun to trudge through the island’s unique vegetation. Finally, we arrived at the coast. Walking with Chura-chan, we were enveloped in the pleasant breeze and the sound of the waves. It was a dreamlike time. It’s rare to have an experience like this. Chura-chan was happily walking through the beautiful ocean. Riding on her back was also a great pleasure. We played a lot before heading back. The staff were kind and we enjoyed talking about all sorts of things. At the end, I gave her a carrot as a thank you. Thank you for playing with me. It was a truly special and wonderful time. I wholeheartedly recommend it. I felt kind and healed. I headed to the center house for breakfast. I wondered what I should have today. I went to “The Lounge & Bar” again today and sat on the terrace, gazing at the ocean. First, I had fresh Okinawan fruit juice. Today’s lunch was served in a paper package on the terrace. It was easy to eat, but I was pleased to see the menu featuring ingredients that were so authentically Okinawan. This was the rafute bowl. It contained a large, tender piece of rafute. This is a carbonara made with Okinawan pancetta called suchika. Each dish comes with a salad and soup. We also ordered desserts: a purple sweet potato parfait, a signature Okinawan dish, and a brown sugar cream puff from Kohama Island. Everything was delicious. Thank you for the meal. Our next activity was a four-wheeled buggy ride around Kohama Island. A regular driver’s license is all you need. We were given detailed instructions on how to operate the vehicle. We quickly learned the ropes. It was a joy to ride through Kohama Island in a buggy, feeling the breeze. We were told we could take a break at scenic spots along the way. We cruised through sugarcane fields and encountered some adorable animals. Along the way, we were able to see this view: mangroves as far as the eye could see. This typical Yaeyama landscape truly evoked the power of nature. After that, we continued to explore the island, enjoying the various sights. Finally, we climbed to the top of Otake, a 99-meter mountain with a spectacular view. It was incredible. Located in the center of the island, it offered a 360-degree view. Apparently, you can get a panoramic view of all eight Yaeyama Islands. I learned a lot about the buildings and islands that can be seen. It’s truly exhilarating to run around the island, feeling the breeze on your own. This time, I’m falling more and more in love with Kohama Island. Next, it’s time for some relaxation at the spa. Apparently, a new spa building, “The Spa,” was created as part of the recent renovation. I’m looking forward to spending some quality time there. We were warmly welcomed into the new, beautiful “The Spa” and then headed to the spectacular lounge. It’s fantastic. The color of the ocean is beautiful no matter how many times I look at it. I had herbal tea made with lemongrass grown in Haimurubushi. The menu is as shown here. They offer a wide variety of body and facial treatments. Apparently, they use an Okinawan skincare brand that uses honey harvested using their own proprietary methods. I was surprised when I entered my room. It’s a wonderful treatment room with a view of the ocean nearby. I started with a foot bath. They gave me a thorough massage in water infused with shell ginger. My legs, swollen from the flight, were soothed, and my mind was also relaxed. Then, my body treatment began. It felt so good I felt sleepy. I was so happy. The care was meticulous and meticulous, nestled in the beautiful natural surroundings. The service was highly skilled and deeply nourishing. It was a truly wonderful experience. Finally, we enjoyed a blend of Sanpin tea and lemongrass tea. It was time for dinner. We drove the cart to the center house. Fires lit up here and there around the garden pool, creating a beautiful scene. It would be nice to enjoy a drink from “The Lounge & Bar” here. The pool was also lit up, creating a magical atmosphere. It was time to head to dinner. We dined at “The Steak & Grill” again tonight. I had requested a different wellness course from last night. It was said to be delicious and visually appealing, with a menu that was low in carbohydrates and fats, primarily based on plant-based ingredients, and inspired by Okinawan cuisine. So, I thought I’d try something healthy. After the herbal tea made with herbs harvested on Ishigaki Island, the first dish on the menu was this: a refreshing dish of large clams and sea grapes. Then, for the appetizer, carpaccio. The miebai was apparently caught in the waters off Okinawa. The aroma of Meyer lemon added to the dish, giving it a refreshing finish. The miebai is a white fish with a refined flavor. It was delicious. Bread was served. Next came soup, a rich, Southern French soup with plenty of ingredients. I was delighted to be able to enjoy so many Okinawan vegetables. Now, the main course begins. Tonight’s dish is lamb. The two sauces—mugwort and black olive tapenade and shikwasa cream—are delicious. The dragon fruit buds on top of the bitter melon are delicious, even though it was my first time trying them. Finally, I ordered dessert and coffee: dark chocolate gateau and soy milk ice cream with cocoa nibs. This wellness course utilizes the power of plants to elevate Okinawan food culture to a healthy level. After dinner, I headed to the Beach & Grill again tonight. My goal for the night was to enjoy the quiet pool, which I was able to reserve exclusively for the night. A luxurious, private space, allowing me to connect with myself and my loved ones. It’s strange to have this entire space all to ourselves. We were able to use the sauna freely. We had a blast and even opened a bottle of sparkling wine. And then, this starry sky. Unlike last night, we floated in the pool, gazing at it. We took lots of photos and had fun. I remembered the story you told me yesterday and tried to guess the constellations. It was a time to enjoy the beauty of nature with my special someone. It was an unforgettable memory. Well, goodnight. Good morning. It’s the morning of our third day. I overslept tonight. I took a leisurely stroll down to the center house for breakfast. It seems that “The Steak & Grill” also uses it during busy times. It’s right next door, so the buffet isn’t far away. I’ll focus on Okinawan cuisine again this morning. I really like Goya Chanpuru. That’s why I chose this set meal style. The food was delicious every time. Thank you for the meal. It’s time to pack and leave this paradise. I check out at the center house. Since there’s still a little time before the ferry, I decided to take a short drive around the island. Last time, I came with my son, and this time with my husband, and it was a wonderful stay. It had evolved into a resort that adults can enjoy as well. Their concept is “Happiness no matter what you do, happiness no matter what you do,” and it really is true. Just being surrounded by nature was a joy. Many of my dreams came true. We enjoyed a sunset cruise, stargazing, horseback riding along the coast, and exploring in a buggy. For more information about Haimurubushi, click here. Sharing the beautiful scenery of Kohama Island. This is the island’s iconic, straight-stretching “Sugar Road .” This is Kohagura-so, the setting for the TV drama “Chura-san.” It’s still the same as it was back then. Here, Kohama Island is home to an impressive manta ray monument. The ocean is beautiful, no matter how many times you see it. Finally, I came here because the hotel staff recommended a favorite spot. It’s a beach in the Hososaki area. I can see Iriomote Island directly in front of me. With the fresh, beautiful ocean still fresh in my mind, it’s almost time for the ferry, though I’m sad to say it’s almost time. The time I spent at Haimurubushi was a series of extraordinary experiences. It was a trip that healed my mind and body and left me feeling deeply satisfied. There is an atmosphere that can only be experienced here, completely different from that of Ishigaki Island or Miyako Island. The warm air makes you feel gentle. It was a one-of-a-kind resort. I want to come back again. I was touched when they waved goodbye until we were out of sight. Thank you for reading to the end. Where should I go next? That’s all from Lily.
