【湯河原】自然と癒しをいっぱい感じる休日
Hello everyone. This time, I’m enjoying two days in Yugawara. Yugawara is located in the southwestern part of Kanagawa Prefecture and is famous for its hot springs. First, I’ll go for lunch. This restaurant is a long-established sushi restaurant that has been in Yugawara for over 40 years. It has a charming interior. It’s not too crowded, so it seems like a relaxing place to dine. There is counter seating and a tatami room. The long-awaited sushi has arrived. I ordered the “high-grade” version this time. The toppings were large, fresh, and satisfying. It was delicious and very satisfying! I headed to my next stop. Based on the concept of a sweets factory that stimulates all five senses, it seems to offer sweets-making experiences and factory tours. There’s also a cookie buffet, which I’m very interested in. I decided to pick up some souvenirs. This is a mandarin orange wholesaler. Depending on the season, they sometimes have over 20 varieties of mandarin oranges on display. Tasting samples is also a nice feature! I bought some drinkable jelly to enjoy at my lodging. This is Ponkan soft serve ice cream. It’s refreshing and delicious. I discovered an interesting rice ball shop. There’s such a wide variety, it’s hard to choose. I bought some for tomorrow’s breakfast! We travel by bus to our next destination. Yugawara’s premier park, stretching along the Chitose River. The grounds offer many attractions, including a foot bath, waterfalls, and a cafe. I plan to explore more. First, I enjoy a foot bath on the terrace at the park’s entrance. A foot bath feels amazing in this chilly season. While walking through the park, I spotted a tunnel! I’d like to go. Beyond the tunnel is a large waterfall. I can feel the negative ions. There are various landscapes, from fast-flowing to gentler flowing. This natural setting is refreshing. I take a deep breath! I take a break at the park’s cafe. I ‘m curious about donuts… there are many uniquely Yugawara menu items. I ordered a caramel pumpkin donut, which caught my eye. The drink is 100% Yugawara-grown mandarin juice. The donut is fluffy. The pumpkin and caramel are a perfect match and are incredibly delicious. The sky at dusk was beautiful. After enjoying the natural surroundings, I headed back to my lodgings. Sen Yugawara is an all-inclusive hotel. It appears to have been renovated from a long-established inn founded in 1885. I was given a welcome drink. The lobby relaxation area. The furniture seems to have been carefully selected. This is the room I’ll be staying in. It’s a relaxing, modern Japanese room, while retaining the elegance of a long-established inn. Because it’s all-inclusive, the refrigerator is free to use. The bath is surrounded by greenery, creating a sense of openness. Another plus is that the hot spring water is free-flowing. A private sauna is also available, although reservations are required. The sauna offers a full range of services, including a loyly bath, a cold bath, and a chaise lounge. After enjoying the sauna, I’m ready to relax. Good morning. The morning sunlight filtering through the trees feels so pleasant. I booked without meals this time, so I’ll have the food I bought yesterday for breakfast. They offer a service where you can make your own coffee, so I’ll give it a try! It’s an unusual experience, both fresh and fun. The coffee I brewed myself was delicious, and it made me want to try it at home. The service was excellent, allowing me to relax. This was a wonderful stay, and I’d definitely stay here again! I’ll be enjoying my second day here as well. This is a long-established, hand-baked rice cracker shop. They have a wide variety, making them a great souvenir. They also sell them individually, so you can enjoy a variety. The simple, traditional flavor was so delicious I couldn’t stop eating. I enjoyed strolling around the natural surroundings of Yugawara. While strolling, I headed to lunch. It seems to be a long-loved soba noodle restaurant among locals. I ordered the tempura-zaru. The soba noodles were thin and easy to eat. The flavor of the broth was just right, and I ate it in no time. The tempura was freshly fried, crispy, and delicious. It was a truly delightful lunch, and thank you for the meal. Leaving Yugawara behind, I headed to my last stop. Nebukawa Station is the only unmanned station on the Tokaido Line, and is a charming station that has been included in the Top 100 Stations of the Kanto Region. Located on a hill overlooking Sagami Bay, the view from the platform was beautiful and relaxing. It was a wonderful holiday, and I thoroughly enjoyed two days. I leisurely made my way home.
