【千葉観光】1人旅でも楽しい!銚子市のグルメと観光を巡るドライブ旅!千葉旅行vlog

Mysterious and beautiful scenery, powerful raging waves and a spectacular view, an observation deck with a strong wind, colorful sashimi, a path that seems to lead to another world, delicious sushi with the best value for money, a huge rock that’s too cute , and at the top of the stairs… Good morning, this is bien. I travel two or three times a month, and this time I’m traveling to Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture, the easternmost point of Kanto. It’s about a two-hour express train ride from Tokyo , or about 100km in a straight line, and Choshi Fishing Port boasts one of the highest catch volumes in the country, making it a treasure trove of seafood delicacies. It also has many tourist spots and view points with unique scenery, and is easily accessible from the city center, making it popular for solo travelers and couples. This time, I’ll enjoy Choshi City on a day trip. Please be sure to watch until the end. So, I’ve arrived at Tokyo Station. I ‘m taking the JR Limited Express Shiosai No. 1, departing at 7:37am, to Choshi. The interior of the car has a futuristic color scheme and design. Starting offYou can also see the Skytree from around hereIt looks really high when you look at it like thisAs I dozed off , the scenery changed completelyI think we’re almost in Chiba PrefectureThe scenery changes every time I dozeI think we’ve probably made it as far as Sakura or Yachimata or the surrounding areaWe’ve arrived at our final stop, Choshi StationThis is the first time I’ve ever been to Choshi StationI’m told it’s famous for its soy sauceI’ll use a car share near Choshi Station to enjoy a road tripI’m not travelling that far but I’ll use a rental car to sightseeSo we’ve arrived in ChoshiIt ‘s been raining all day todayIt seems like there’s a 100% chance of precipitationTraveling these days is a bit scaryIt seems like the chance of rain is really highIt’s my first time in Choshi and I want to enjoy some gourmet food and sightseeing on a day tripThere ‘s a fishing port and the seafood looks deliciousThere are also some scenic spotsI’ll take a drive around here and do some sightseeingI’ll go around in a counterclockwise direction and look around this areaSo is there a starting road or a sidewalk? ら見てくださいねー。 English: It’s so wide, the land feels spacious , and I found a fish shop right near the station so I decided to buy some sashimi there and got some tuna. It seemed like they had other things as well, but for now this tuna was the only one that looked like it could be eaten as sashimi right away, so for that it cost 500 yen. Looks delicious. The first view spot I’m going to today is Choshi Port Tower. It’s 3.6km by car from here near Choshi Station . I thought there would be a traffic jam but it was all just sidewalk parking. I wonder what wet rice crackers are like? Oh rice crackers are nice too. Local rice crackers, local rice crackers, it might be fun to look for something like that. Taiwanese food too. It’s nice to eat Taiwanese food when you’re traveling, I’d like to try it once in a while. I have a sushi reservation today, but it’s amazing. The roads around here are a little narrow. Ah, there are restaurants and a shrine here too. Oh, it’s amazing. Just now I looked to the left and saw the ocean. It was so beautiful. I’m on my way to the Port Tower, but is this the route I should take? I can see Choshi Municipal First Junior High School. Is that it? Is that big thing the Port Tower? It comes into view directly ahead, in the distance. We’ve arrived at the Port Tower. Is this the parking lot? Let’s eat some sashimi first. Since we’ve arrived , we only bought one piece of tuna for 500 yen, but they were so kind as to give us soy sauce and disposable chopsticks . I’m always looking for restaurants, and I always end up buying my food at supermarkets and fish shops, but finally the time has come. The amount of soy sauce is incredible . I’m only going to eat a few slices of tuna , but there’s enough soy sauce to eat ten plates of sushi. This is tuna. It looks delicious. I might pour it on top, or it ‘ll turn into pickled tuna. Amazing . But there’s plenty of soy sauce, so I can use it later if I buy more elsewhere. So, let ‘s eat. 500 yen for tuna is pretty good , isn’t it? It’s quite cheap . I’ll eat sashimi as soon as I arrive. That’s great, I’ll try that next time. It ‘s so good! They buy it from Choshi’s fishing port that morning and cut it , I think there are some pieces that haven’t been cut yet. The regulars and the staff were talking and they probably have fatty tuna too, but they said they’ve only cut this one so I think this is freshly cut too. Delicious! No smell, no smell at all . Ah, the tuna is so good. It’s been a while since I’ve had tuna like this. I wonder if the mackerel and horse mackerel are good too. I keep eating in silence. So good! It’s gone in an instant. Everything was gone in a flash. After that, I had to hurry up because I was going to eat sushi in 30 minutes, so I decided to go up the tower. I got a ticket. It was 420 yen per adult . 海底 掛 け 徒 歩 2 分 the view from here is great , is n’t it ? … But it was closed so I gave up, but on the other hand I’m looking forward to being able to eat sushi. Sushi is sushi after all. The tuna sashimi I had earlier was delicious. Even thinking about it after some time has passed, it was still delicious. There was no strange smell and it felt like I was eating only the best parts of the tuna . I came out onto this road , and this is the fish shop I was at earlier, Kakuya Shoten . When I went in here, there was a sushi restaurant and apparently there was a parking lot in front of the store. I wonder if it’s pronounced Sansui? This looks like a parking lot. I arrived and will be eating sushi at this restaurant. I think it’s because it was a weekday lunchtime and I had made a reservation in advance by phone, but I was shown to a private room which was quite spacious. It was large enough to fit 5-6 people. Then my order arrived. A tempura platter and premium sushi. にぎわいです。 English: The chef served me nigiri and , as a complimentary , Choshi horse mackerel. The texture of the rice , the flavor of the horse mackerel, and the combination with the soy sauce were great and it was absolutely delicious. The tempura was also delicious. The sushi was really good . Other than the horse mackerel, it’s not particularly Choshi cuisine. Simply put, the quality of the sushi was high and delicious. Then, as a complimentary coffee was served after the meal , it was delicious. The horse mackerel was delicious. The horse mackerel was delicious , and then I was given coffee and chocolate as a complimentary gift. If it was a weekday lunch, I think you could probably eat alone in a private room. I was able to relax and enjoy delicious sushi. The service was so warm, it felt like I was back home, it almost brought tears to my eyes. A regular nigiri set would cost around 1,000 yen. If I lived nearby, I ‘d probably want to go there every now and then. It was so delicious. It’s great because it’s easy to get to even if you’re traveling alone. Both my stomach and my heart were satisfied. Next, as you can see on this blue sign , I’m heading to Inubosaki . If the wind is too strong or violent, you might only be able to see it from the car. Shionoyu Onsen… Oh! I wonder if this is the place I was planning to go today. I’m thinking of taking a dip in the hot springs for the last hour or so of the day. For now, I think? There’s a day spa with a great view, and although they might not have a sauna, I’m thinking of going there. It’s a bit more than I thought. It’s more like this road, rather than going straight along the coast or the main road. It’s pretty narrow, and there’s a huge tourist bus parked there. Let’s stop by . Is the station a good photo spot? This is the Choshi Electric Railway station . The Choshi Electric Railway is about 6.4km one way from JR Choshi Station to Tonokawa Station, connecting 10 stations in about 20 minutes. It’s apparently a popular local line with tourists, and there’s also a souvenir shop at the station. That’s Inubo Station. On the left is Inubosaki. Apparently there’s a lighthouse about 600 meters from here. Oh, I can see it. I can see it in the distance. The atmosphere has changed all at once. What is this? It’s a marine park, an aquarium. It’s an aquarium where you can see the round earth. At the end of the road is a parking lot and a lighthouse. Isn’t it like a lighthouse you can climb ? 帰りました。 English: There are some photo spots, and there are toilets too, so it’s quite crowded. It’s busier than I expected. There was no one at all at the Port Tower we went to earlier, but the famous places are definitely different. The wind is pretty strong . So, we arrived. Next up was Inubosaki Lighthouse. It has been selected as one of the 100 best lighthouses in the world and is said to have the highest number of visitors in Japan. It was also designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan in December 2020. It is a lighthouse that you can climb to the top and there is also a museum inside. However, at the time the entrance door was closed and there was no sign of anyone else going in, so I thought it might be closed that day, so I gave up and came straight to the promenade side, but maybe we could have gone in. It looks like you can go all the way to the back of the promenade. This is the photo spot where the waves break at the beginning of the movie ! It’s the opening scene of a Toei movie, there’s a scene where the waves crash, but lo and behold! It turns out it was in Choshi, I had no idea ! And is this a promenade? There’s so much Japanese
pampas grass ! Amazing ! From here you can see the white rocks that weren’t visible from where we were just now ! Amazing! Then , as I walked along the mysterious path in the strong wind, I found a sign. This area is always exposed to strong sea breezes and the soil is apparently poor, so only special plants can grow there. Now that I think about it, the scenery is a color I don’t usually see, it’s like this shade of green-brown and yellow-green is different , it’s a sight you don’t see very often. To be honest the weather isn’t great and the wind is so strong it’s really cold, but I’ve come all this way so I’ll just take in the view and head home. There are apparently several other routes as well, I might catch a cold, though! There’s no other way but to go The scenery here is amazing There’s something blocking the way The wind suddenly stops and it’s silent The cold is halved It’s not so cold anymore It seems to be falling downwards Wow, amazing There’s also a resort hotel further in The road has split into three I thought there was only the lighthouse but there are also various walking paths Ah , amazing The road has split into three Let’s walk along the coast Wow, the waves are amazing What an amazing view It looks like the devil’s washboard I saw in Miyazaki Plus there’s a walking path over there You can get off there and walk This is amazing A place like this exists A very impressive view at the easternmost point of Kanto Unfortunately there is a fence here It looks like you could have walked on the view in the past but this is not a view spot The Cretaceous period of Inubosaki…? 帰りました。 English: How do you read it? The Inubosaki strata are said to have been deposited at the bottom of a relatively shallow sea about 120 million years ago during the dinosaur era. It looks like a small pool (apparently called Uma-dung Pond). Wow, what incredible weather ! The waves are huge. It’s a little too cold, so we’ll take shelter for now. Thank you. Inubosaki Lighthouse. So that was Inubosaki. Wow , it was amazing . Inubosaki was really crowded. I guess everyone who comes to Choshi comes here. There were couples wearing winter clothes, or rather down coats, so I thought, yeah, it’s true. It’s that cold, so we’ll head to another spot along the sea. The roads are too narrow, so you might not be able to get there by car, but it’s worth going as close as you can . There are a lot of things to do around here, like resort hotels . The promenade we were walking on earlier looks so far away. Apparently if we go along this road, there’s a lighthouse. Nagasaki Nose. Ah, but there’s no road. Actually, you can’t even walk there. This is a bit of an obscure place so there’s probably no one there . I thought I’d take a look . There was a strong wind and the road was closed, lol. So in a flash, my sightseeing was over, but you can’t go through there. If you walk along the coast for about 3.5km, you ‘ll find a beach, and if you go down a side street there, there’s apparently a rare view spot. Is this a fishing port ? What kind of fishing port is this? I wonder if there are any restaurants or something . Chibakuda ! I ‘ve come to Choshi, the town of Kinme . There was something called a Kinmedai object on Google Maps, but it wasn’t a restaurant or tourist facility. Is this the fishing port all the way here? There are a long line of boats. I’ve discovered something, so why not take a detour ? Wow, wow, it looks like a great place for sightseeing. I could park my car and see Dad right in front of me. Damn, my nose is getting really
stuffy . My rhinitis is level 99. Is this it? Fishing is prohibited from here onwards. It says “No fishing”, but it ‘s not like entry is prohibited. Can cars enter? Wow, this rock is a dead end? There’s a huge hole. I can just about see it. Senkigaiwa is a huge rock about 18m high and 400m in circumference. It was apparently once an island . It’s the oldest geological layer in Chiba Prefecture, estimated to be between 200 and 150 million years old. The name Senkigaiwa comes from the fact that Minamoto no Yoshitsune was a warrior of 1,000 soldiers. It was named after the legend that people barricaded themselves inside with their swords, but in books from the Edo period it is described as Senga Iwaya, and it is written that few people cross because it is said to be inhabited by a Tengu. Inuiwa The previous one was Senkiga Iwa, and this is Inuiwa. Going straight is forbidden, but going left is not. Amazing Inuiwa It looks more like a dog than I thought It’s kind of cute It’s cuter than I thought Arrived in Inuiwa The windmill you can see in the distance is amazing It looks like a modern angel from Evangelion Ah, this is it This is the promenade that is the view spot How do you read it? Byobugaura Byobugaura The promenade starts from this beach However, if you search for Byobugaura and navigate on Google Maps you will end up in a strange place Apparently it’s best to walk from here Arrived I wondered if it was possible to walk from here, and came out to the promenade along the sea. The wind was coming up and it was dangerous to use an umbrella Oh, is this Byobugaura? Inubosaki from earlier It used to be super crowded, but there’s no one here . Walking on a sunny day – it’s really nice for a walk in the morning on a sunny day. Is this the beach? Is it shallow? There aren’t many waves. It’s very calm here. In the summer it gets really crowded. Yes, it continues straight here . The promenade and the view in the distance are amazing. It looks like something from overseas. Does the no-entry thing mean the ocean? Or this beach? Is it about the sea? No entry means is the promenade okay? It ‘s cold, cold, very cold. A hole carved out by the waves , a wave -cut depression. Apparently, in the past, the waves were eroding it at a rate of 50-100cm per year. I wonder. Looking at this alone, it kind of looks like a foreign country. This Byobugaura is a cliff carved out by wave erosion . It seems to continue for about 10km from Inuiwa, which we visited earlier (to Asahi City) . Because it has been constantly eroded by the waves, not many plants grow, resulting in these beautifully patterned strata. It’s so cold it makes me want to laugh. But it was fun, thank you. Byobugaura. It’s cold and raining, and I was wondering if there was a place to look at the view from inside a building. I was wondering if there was a place like the Port Tower that I went to first, and I found one, so I headed there . If I climb this for another kilometer from here, I wonder if I’ll see it 500m ahead. This really is crazy. The puddle I ‘m in now is deeper than I imagined. Now , is the parking lot in another place? I see, the parking lot is 80m back. Walking from the parking lot is a problem. Let’s walk. I’ll walk to the hill and observation deck where you can see the roundness of the earth . If I go this way, I won’t get too wet. The grounds seem to be large. This is the observation deck, and from the left side, you can see a huge fish. It’s like a weathervane. Arrival is from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Right now, it’s 5:30 PM . It’s 420 yen per adult . It’s quite a walk. I thought there was a parking lot right in front of me, but it took about 5-6 minutes to walk . Wow, it was cold. We arrived at the Earth’s Round View Observatory. We bought a ticket and entered. Should we go to the third floor? The wind looks incredibly strong. Incredibly strong winds. That thing we saw earlier, Inubosaki, is a place that prospered from sardine fishing. We found the sculpture. We climbed up to this platform. It’s raining, cold, and there’s no one around. The view is all ours. So, let’s feel the earth’s roundness. From here, you can see the beautiful cityscape of Choshi and the spectacular view of Byobugaura , which we visited earlier. The wind is too strong. Next, it’s time for a hot spring. Google Maps says today is Wednesday, but it says it starts on Thursday. I called and they were open. Thank goodness , Google. The opening hours on maps are not that reliable, so it’s safer to just call in advance.I think that in this day and age, fewer people are calling, but at tourist spots, Google Maps and other sites can sometimes not be updated, so I saw a sign for the Inubosaki Tourist Hotel, which offers day-use hot springs. It ‘s a little pricey for day-use baths at the hotel , but the view looked really nice.Wow , the hot springs really seem to seep in.I’ve been sightseeing in the cold so I feel like I’m really seeing them. There are all kinds of things, is this the road I passed earlier? That’s the road to the left, but that’s Inubo Station from earlier. There ‘s one more one I’m curious about too, does it have a day-use hot spring? Both this place and this place say Spa & Resort. I wonder if they have day baths here too. Is this the entrance to the parking lot? This is the Inubosaki Tourist Hotel, a natural hot spring. There is a hotel on the edge of a cliff, so I wonder if the hot springs are facing the ocean. The open- air bath looks amazing. I have arrived, so I will take a day bath. On weekdays it is 1,300 yen to enter. Towels and other things are included , so you can come empty-handed, and I returned from the hot springs. Hot springs are really great. The hot springs were a little lukewarm , and there was also a sauna. There was a sauna, but the sauna was also lukewarm and there was no cold bath , so I felt like I had refreshed just from the hot springs. It warms you up really quickly, but the curry udon looks delicious. I wonder if they’re open at this time. The curry udon looked delicious. Is there a fish shop over here? I wasn’t sure if they sold sashimi, but I think they probably just had the fish as it was. This time I’m taking the express train back to Tokyo Station, so I think I should buy something. Speaking of going back , the train leaves in an hour and a half, so I could buy some prepared food or sashimi at the supermarket. Also, if there’s a fish store or cafe nearby, I guess you could call it sweet time, but I’d like to eat something. I’ll just eat a little in the last hour and a half before returning the rental car. Are we heading back to Tokyo? It seems we’ll arrive in 700 meters. That’s Choshi Port on the right , and the Choshi Ohashi Bridge is faintly visible in the background right . I wonder if there are any view spots for this amazing bridge , maybe around here? Ah, I can see it. It might not be a local supermarket at all , but surprisingly, these big supermarkets are likely to have local ingredients. Wow, the parking lot is completely full. It’s already 4 o’clock, so it’s a busy time, isn’t it? It’s amazing how busy it is. I looked around the supermarket, but in the end I didn’t buy anything. There was something that said Choshi Fishing Port, but all they had were bones for fish soup, and I wasn’t sure if the tuna was from Choshi or something. There were some tuna offcuts, but it didn’t say anything. The other fish are fenced, so you can’t eat them on the spot, but it said they were from Miyagi Prefecture or Nagasaki Prefecture, but I wasn’t sure if it was from there, so I thought it might not be from somewhere else, so in the end I didn’t buy anything. But the sashimi looked good, and the tuna… This isn’t sushi, this isn’t a sushi restaurant, this looks good They don’t do preparations until 4pm, do they? They don’t do preparations until 5:30pm or 6pm, do they? The return express is in an hour, so it’s a bit risky. I guess I’ll just have to buy something to eat at a cafe near the station . But I did have some good sushi. I had some good sushi for lunch, so I’m pretty satisfied. But if I’m traveling alone for the day, I’m always so packed with things to do, so even something like this is still fun. I went to a few tourist spots, ate dinner, and had some sashimi. Come to think of it , it was a pretty good day. If only it hadn’t rained. Sunny days are always nice. Sunny days always make you more excited. Rain makes you want to cry a little. I’m back. I’m back . I wonder if I ‘ll get a Times Car Share offer. Maybe a sponsorship deal will give me unlimited rides for a year (I’m wishing too much lol). If that happens, I’ll make a video like this, sponsored by a sponsor, but maybe I should try looking for sponsors. Anyway, it was a day that just flew by. I had some sweets at this cafe until it was time for my train home. I had a Halloween treat that was like a half donut and half cream puff. It was delicious. Choshi is the best , so I’m heading back to Tokyo. By the way, this channel also posts videos of my travels around Japan. Please take this opportunity to subscribe to the channel and rate it highly .
