雲仙溫泉半日遊,到訪到溫泉神社、雲仙地獄、極樂公園以及滿明寺

Hello everyone Welcome to Mita World Today we arrived at Unzen Onsen The central part of the Unzen volcanic region On the Shimabara Peninsula in Nagasaki Prefecture At an altitude of around 700 meters We’re staying here for one night As we arrived at Unzen Onsen It was already evening And most shops had closed So we could only visit places that are still open Such as Onsen Shrine Unzen Jigoku Gokuraku Park And Manmyōji Temple Onsen Shrine, also known as “Shimengu” Has existed in Unzen since the early 8th century It enshrines four deities Shirabebetsu-no-Mikoto, Takehibetsu-no-Mikoto, Toyohibetsu-no-Mikoto and Toyokusuhibetsu-no-Mikoto Collectively called “Shimen” According to Kojiki Japan’s creation myth They are the guardians of Kyushu The shrine is a place where people pray for Family safety, victory, fulfilled wishes, prosperity, and love At the shrine, there are goshuin (500 yen) and daruma omikuji (500 yen) available Next to the shrine There are signs pointing to Hell Valley Nearby You’ll find self-service vending machines selling hot spring eggs steamed with hell valley steam Lemon soda, and marble soda This area, called Hachiman Jigoku Has a name that originates from the Buddhist Concept of 84,000 worldly desires That lead to sinful karma and eventually to this hell Unfortunately, Hachiman Jigoku Was partially destroyed by a severe landslide Caused by heavy rain on August 13, 2021 Damaging parts of the area And nearby buildings From Onsen Shrine, we walked about 3 minutes To a spot where we saw billowing white steam rising This is Unzen Jigoku, one of the iconic sites of Unzen Onsen The Unzen Onsen area is divided into three parts Kōyu (Old Hot Spring), Shin’yū (New Hot Spring), and Kojigoku (Small Hell) Unzen Jigoku lies between Kōyu and Shin’yū Here, you can see white steam Continuously venting from cracks in the ground And the strong smell of sulfur fills the air Doesn’t it feel like stepping into an inferno? The name “Unzen Jigoku” Also carries a dark history During the Edo period The ruling shogunate brutally Suppressed Christianity to solidify its power Many Christians were brought to Unzen Jigoku And subjected to various forms of torture To force them to abandon their faith One of the famous springs here is Seishichi Jigoku Named after a Christian martyr, Seishichi Who was executed at this site Walking along the path We reached Suzume Jigoku Known for its small steam vents That produce chirping sounds resembling sparrows Further ahead We arrived at Oito Jigoku A spring With a tragic love story behind its name It is said that A woman named Oito Who lived a wealthy life in Shimabara Castle Had an affair And killed her husband She was executed here And the spring Was named To warn others about The consequences of destroying families Next to Oito Jigoku There is a tea house called Unzen Jigoku Chaya Which sells hot spring eggs and lemon soda Unfortunately, it was closed when we arrived (10am – 4pm) However See many cats in the area Because they were wild So you will see warning signs posted Following the path further We reached the Unzen Jigoku Observation Deck And took a short break while enjoying the scenery Moving on We came to Daikyōkan Jigoku A spring named for its loud Echoing sounds like “ah” or “oh” Unfortunately Despite visiting early, midday, and late We weren’t lucky enough to hear the sounds Next, we visited Jaken Jigoku Where legend says drinking the spring water can rid one of jealousy In reality, the water is highly acidic And not safe for consumption Continuing along the trail We came to Dorobosu Jigoku (Mud Volcano) This spring forms Conical mud mounds As gas pushes mud Through the vents Further ahead We found a footbath area Marking the end of our journey Through Unzen Jigoku The entire walk around Unzen Jigoku takes about 30 minutes Afterward, we crossed the road To the Old Hachiman Jigoku area It is said that the springs in Old Hachiman Jigoku Are less active than those in Unzen Jigoku So there isn’t as much white steam visible When we arrived We discovered that we couldn’t get close to observe However, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that there would be a fireworks display that night Next, we visited Gokuraku Park Which offers views overlooking Unzen Jigoku From the park Has stairs lead to Manmyōji Temple Manmyōji is said to be a historic temple Reportedly founded by the monk Gyōki in the first year of the Taihō era (701 AD) This temple is believed to mark the beginning of the Unzen hot springs Inside Manmyōji There is a 5-meter-tall statue Of Shakyamuni Buddha called the “Unzen Great Buddha” Entirely covered in gold leaf And overlooking the entire hot spring town People visit the temple to pray for family safety and good health Before we knew it, it was dinner time We dined at Yū-chan An Izakaya named after the owner’s daughter We ordered the specialty Yū-chan Yaki Yakisoba And Yaki chicken thigh The prices were reasonable for the area And the food was delicious After dinner We decided to explore Unzen Jigoku at night It is said that at night The white steam erupting from Unzen Jigoku is more abundant than during the day The path has no lighting So you can only rely on a flashlight for illumination If you’re afraid but still want to explore Unzen Jigoku at night You can sign up for a guided tour at your accommodation The cost is 600 yen per person And a guide (in Japanese) will lead you and a group Of others through the night tour of Unzen Jigoku Sharing the history and stories of the area We chose To explore on our own But only went As far as Daikyōkan Jigoku Due to the darkness And lack Of other independent visitors On our way back We were startled By strange sounds near Suzume Jigoku The next morning We returned to the same location To see what it actually was We discovered the noise came from a water pipe After our night tour of Unzen Jigoku It was time for the fireworks And we saw many people beginning to gather in front of the shrine We also found a good spot to watch the fireworks Unzen Jigoku is a must-visit destination Compared to Noboribetsu Jigoku Valley And Beppu Jigoku Unzen Jigoku this area is less crowded And the best part is that it’s open 24 hours for free Whether visiting during the day or night The constant steam Creates contrasting atmospheres Making it feel like a journey to the underworld If you’re visiting Kumamoto or Nagasaki Prefecture We highly recommend setting aside a day to come here That’s all for today’s video Thank you for watching!
