Today marks the start of a three-week trip abroad.
The 40th country I have chosen to visit in my life is… New Zealand, a country of natural beauty in the southern hemisphere, which I will travel across from the North Island to the South Island. My first destination is… NZ Airlines allows one checked bag up to 23 kg… My bag was 0.4 kg over the limit, but they allowed it up to 23.99 kg. My last Japanese meal was Ippudo ramen. I always eat it when departing from Narita. Ippudo here tastes especially delicious. This is my first time flying with Air New Zealand, so I’m looking forward to it! The flight to Auckland is about 10 hours and 30 minutes. We are scheduled to arrive early the next morning. The in-flight meal was served warm. It was so delicious, I was surprised! The second in-flight meal: Yukari rice and simmered fish were so comforting. It’s piping hot! Air New Zealand’s meals are incredibly delicious. Watching Inside Out 2 made me think about “emotions.” Disney movies teach us a lot. I fell asleep while watching the movie, and it seems we’ll be arriving soon. We’ve arrived in the Southern Hemisphere! We’ve entered New Zealand! Now heading to immigration Apparently the screening is strict, so I’ll make sure to declare everything properly (the entry declaration card has been abolished, and everyone must submit a NZTD travel declaration before departure) I declared my trekking poles, shoes, and other mountaineering gear, as well as miso soup, instant rice, and other food items. I enjoyed my morning cup of coffee at a specialty coffee shop in New Zealand. The flat white was delicious with a rich bean flavor. My New Zealand trip began on the day of the full moon. I planned my trip around the phases of the moon because I wanted to see the starry sky in Tekapo during the new moon. I arrived in Auckland at 6:33 a.m. I will take a bus to the city center. It takes about 30 minutes by bus to the city center. A beautiful sunrise greeted us. The weather is sunny☀ A good start. At this bus stop, there are buses to other cities such as Turangi, Tongariro, and Wellington. This is the bus terminal under the Sky Tower. For now, I’ll walk about 10 minutes to the hotel. Almost there… Today, I’ll be staying at the Four Points by Sheraton for one night. I don’t think I can check in yet, so I’ll just leave my luggage here. I checked in and left my luggage, and it’s still 8:20, but I’m going to take the ferry to the island now. What a cute shop! ♥ One of the oldest arcades in Auckland, built in the 1900s. It’s a beautiful old building with exquisite decorations. It’s exciting to stumble upon a nice place by chance. If you turn off the main street, there are various arcades to explore. I looked for a place to get some good coffee nearby and found one. It’s a shop run by the national latte art champion, and it has a 5-star rating on Google. It’s as delicious as everyone says! New Zealand has a great coffee culture, so I want to drink lots of it during my trip. The ferry port is coming into view. I’m heading to Devonport, the second stop. The 9:30 AM ferry hasn’t arrived yet. It’s a spacious and beautiful ferry. Going to the second floor. The weather is nice today, and the sea is very beautiful. It’s about a 15-minute boat ride to Devonport on the opposite shore. We’ve arrived at Devonport~ We’re going to go trekking now We’re going to trek to Mount Victoria. Or should I say hiking? It’s a very light hike. Let’s go. I found another nice alleyway. I’ll take a detour on the way there. I’ve arrived at the handmade chocolate shop I wanted to visit in Devonport. When it comes to souvenirs from New Zealand, chocolate is a must. This shop is popular for its high quality. I bought a few to eat as snacks. I found a bakery, so I had breakfast here. I bought a pie, a doughnut, and a latte. I bought a pie and a latte at that bakery. Breakfast, here I come! Steak & mushrooms Yum ♥ Delicious There’s so much steak in it, and it’s cheap! This is already my third cup of coffee today. Enjoy! Yum, delicious! New Zealand seems like a place with lots of delicious coffee. I want to try all kinds of coffee from now on. Now that I’m full, it’s time for some exercise. I’ve come to Mount Victoria for a hike. Let’s start climbing. It’s a short hike. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the summit. I’ll follow the paved path. The view is amazing! This is awesome! The weather is also great ☀ I’ve arrived in Auckland I’m only in Auckland for one day… but I arrived in the morning, so I can enjoy it fully The view is amazing! It’s the best! There was a map at the summit. A 360-degree panoramic view. You can see the city of Auckland across the bay. Just a short climb up, and you’re greeted with a postcard-perfect view. A wonderful place that makes you feel like you’ve truly arrived in Auckland. Enjoying the scenery at a leisurely pace before heading back down. After a short stroll through the city, we returned to the ferry port. Time to head back! It was great! ♩ Devonport is easily accessible from the city, so it’s recommended for sightseeing in Auckland. We received a message saying that we could check in at the hotel, so we headed there while exploring the city. macpac is a New Zealand-born outdoor brand. It is also popular as a fashionable apparel brand and has a wide selection of products. I registered as a member and got a discount of about $40, so I bought it for $136! macpac backpack It’s a New Zealand mountaineering brand. The 22L size is just right, which is great! I plan to take this with me on my next mountain trip. I was lucky to be able to check in early. The room is small but clean and elegant. The amenities include body cream, shampoo, and body soap on the wall. There were no slippers or toothbrushes. Eating the donut from earlier The donut I bought at the bakery in Devonport this morning Looks delicious! The fresh cream was amazing! I want to eat cream buns all over New Zealand from now on. I’ll tidy up my luggage a bit, take a shower, and relax. I’m in a good mood with my new backpack! I think I’ll go eat dinner a bit early. Since I arrived in Auckland early in the morning, I feel like I’m using my time quite effectively. The cheerful bronze statue at the park entrance is of the former mayor of Auckland. He must have been a person who contributed greatly to the city. When it comes to New Zealand cuisine, shellfish is a must. I haven’t made a reservation, but I’m going to check out a restaurant I’ve been curious about. It was very crowded, but there was one seat available, so we were able to get in. One of the pleasures of traveling is enjoying domestic beer. I asked the staff for recommendations and ordered a variety of shellfish, including green mussels and Bluff oysters. This is incredibly delicious! (Green mussels) It’s the first day, so I hope I don’t get an upset stomach… Here we go! When it comes to raw oysters, Japan is better (Sanriku-produced oysters are the best). It’s still this bright at 6:00 p.m. Long days make me feel like I’m getting a good deal. First day in New Zealand. So, now I’m off to the casino! I hope to win and get some funds. I hope I win~ At this point, I had no idea about the miracle that would happen later… Two hours after the start The time has come Jackpot win Shaking, I got into a taxi and returned to the hotel, ending the first day With this, I’ve completely secured my travel funds, so I’ll enjoy myself to the fullest. I came to eat breakfast at the hotel. Organic, healthy-looking ingredients are lined up. I saw a self-service pancake maker for the first time! I’ll try making some. It automatically made two pancakes. I was so excited yesterday that I couldn’t sleep well, but after eating breakfast, I felt energized. I’ll call an Uber to get around. I have a rental car reserved starting today, so I’m heading to the rental car company. I had a reservation for 8:00, but the front desk wasn’t open, so I waited until around 9:00. My travel companion for Kitajima is a Toyota Corolla. Just in case, I took photos of any scratches or damage. I returned to the hotel, checked out, and loaded my luggage into the car. Checkout complete. Departing from Auckland, our next destination is… Departing at 11:00, it’s about a 3-hour drive to Rotorua. We’ll take a detour and enjoy the scenery along the way. New Zealand drives on the left side of the road, just like Japan. Once you leave Auckland, there are almost no traffic lights. The speed limit is generally 100 km/h, so we’ll keep up the pace. We take a short break in the small town of Tirau. Here, you can enjoy artworks made using New Zealand’s traditional building material, namako boards. The sheep sculptures are cute and very New Zealand-esque ♥ This is the i-SITE in Tirau. I wanted to take a break, but it was a little crowded, so I decided to get takeout instead. Tirau, about two hours from Auckland, is perfect for a break along the way! I set off with a delicious latte in hand. ☕ There were hardly any sheep along the North Island road, but there were lots of cows. There’s a foot bath over there. We’ve arrived at Kuirau Park. It’s a free park. A foot bath spot that anyone can use for free. Wow, it smells like a hot spring! It’s like the hot spring town of Rotorua. It’s hot today, with a daytime temperature of 26°C. I’ll take a short walk around the vast park grounds. This park in the city center has several spots where hot springs are bubbling up. I found a spot with lots of steam! When I got closer, I could feel how hot the steam was. Let’s go a little further in. Nature abounds. We’ve come to a very beautiful place! We walk along the walking path that circles the lake. The breathtaking geothermal lake! Steam rises from the lake. It’s amazing that such a wonderful geothermal experience is free. The geothermal lake, shrouded in steam, was truly beautiful from the observation point. I was deeply moved to see the geothermal activity that is so characteristic of Rotorua. There are several geothermal spots in Rotorua, but even without paying an entrance fee, coming here will teach you about the amazing nature of this land. I was hungry, so I took out some fish and chips. There were no other customers, but I ended up waiting longer than expected. In Japan, you can usually get your order in about five minutes, but overseas, 20 minutes is normal. The portion is way too big! Haha I’ll eat it in the car. I’m heading to the Redwood Tree Walk now. It’s already past 5:00 p.m., but… We’ll go trekking in the evening. The Redwoods Tree Walk is a 28-suspension-bridge walk through Sequoia trees over 100 years old. The course is 700 meters long and takes about 40 minutes. You can choose between two routes, one higher than the other. Amazing! Departing for the forest surrounded by giant trees It’s pretty shaky! So much fun! ♬ The number of people allowed on the suspension bridge is limited. There are also walking trails, bike paths, and horseback riding courses in the forest. The aerial walk, accompanied by the sounds of the forest and birds, was mystical. As we went deeper into the forest, the mountains became more rugged, and the space surrounded by plants was like natural healing itself. We’re almost at the fork in the road at the halfway point. Beautiful ferns that have grown to a great height. We have arrived at the fork in the path. We will take the higher path. A redwood tree with a 120-year history. It has known this Earth longer than anyone who comes here. A masterpiece created by nature over time As I walked around the tree, I felt a very sacred scent. A wonderful forest space where I could stay for hours. The beauty of nature is breathtaking, and I forgot about the passage of time. I thoroughly enjoyed the forest bath and felt healed both mentally and physically. I still want to stay here, but the goal is approaching… At night, you can enjoy the tree walk illuminated by lights. The forest lit by lanterns must be beautiful too. Walking through the deep forest was a truly refreshing natural attraction! The goal is finally in sight. I’m back… The end! I want to go again! It was so much fun! ♬ The best thing to do in Rotorua We left the redwood forest and headed to the hotel where we would be staying tonight. Lake Rotorua was beautiful in the sunset. Two months ago, there were almost no vacancies in Rotorua, and even if there were, they were expensive, so I booked a hotel away from the city. There are only stairs, so it was a struggle to carry my luggage upstairs… It’s a hotel with a relaxed atmosphere, like a cottage in the countryside. It’s a bit old, but it’s clean. The room’s terrace offers a view of the lake. There was a shower room and a bathtub—lucky! No slippers or toothbrushes I’ll be staying here for one night I opened the window to rest and ended up falling asleep. I woke up to a slightly chilly morning in Rotorua. As they say, there are four seasons in one day, and it is cold in the morning and evening. I came to eat breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast menu features standard overseas breakfast items. The atmosphere was calm and quiet, and it was a wonderful experience to enjoy breakfast while taking in the view. At overseas breakfasts, my current favorite thing is to pick my favorite ingredients and make a sandwich. It was only for one day, but it was an amazing place. We’re leaving. Today we’re heading to Taupo. First, we’ll stop by Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland, the largest geothermal activity area along the way. It’s currently 9:33 AM. The Lady Knox Geyser show starts at 10:15 AM, so I want to arrive by 9:45 AM, but it’s crowded, so I’ll probably arrive around 9:50 AM. I just bought tickets online. I couldn’t buy them on the day from the optional tour company, so I bought them directly from the official website. I want to show this and enter quickly. I’m rushing over there. The weather is great☀ The forecast for North Island was rain, but so far it’s all sunny! New Zealand weather forecasts are unreliable in a good way. It took about 45 minutes to arrive at the site from the hotel. People heading to see the geyser are walking toward it, but first, I’ll go to the parking lot. I’ve arrived at the parking lot… They said I can drive to Lady Knox Geyser, so I’ll hurry there. Oh no! Only 20 minutes left… The grounds are large, so it’s best to arrive 30 minutes early to see the geyser. When entering the parking lot in front of Lady Knox Geyser, show your admission ticket to the staff. I was able to drive to the parking lot in front, so I should be able to make it in time. The Lady Knox Geyser eruption show is only once a day. A large crowd has gathered. Many seats are already taken… The geyser was discovered by the indigenous Maori people, and it is said that adding soap triggers the eruption. “Kia Ora” is the Maori word for “hello.” Staff members add soap. Although it is an artificially induced geyser, it was still worth seeing. If you come at the right time, you can see it 100% of the time. We return to the car and move to the main geothermal area. Is it worth coming here at 10:15? Well, I’m not sure… It’s definitely impressive, but only for a moment… Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, said to be New Zealand’s most colorful geothermal area. Show your QR code to enter. I got a stamp and entered. Um, there are several courses… There are 1.5km, 2km, and 3km courses. Since we’re here, I’d like to walk the entire 3km course. Check for the possibility of natural disasters before departing. Enjoy walking along the trail while taking in the terrain formed by volcanic activity. First up is the crater known as Devil’s Home. The sulfur gas that erupted has crystallized and turned yellow. There are so many hot springs bubbling up from the craters and mud! It’s clear that this is the largest geothermal activity area. The Taupo volcanic zone is one of the most active volcanic zones in the world. We also learned about the unique terrain found only on the North Island. The “Artist’s Palette,” where the colors of the hot springs blend together. As one of the 20 most surreal places in the world, it offers a truly magnificent and mysterious landscape. The symbol of Wai-O-Tapu, the “Champagne Pool.” This vibrant hot spring was formed by a hydrothermal explosion 900 years ago. I was deeply moved to see this breathtaking view, which was why I came here. Be careful not to stay too long due to the carbon dioxide gas. There are a total of 25 viewpoints. We will walk around 2 km on Courses 1 and 2 and head toward Course 3. The best views are always further in! Let’s head to Course 3. The couple waved at the camera too. (laughs) Course 3 has slightly worse footing, but you can feel more of nature. There are several forks in the road, so you go back and take another path. The light green Lake Ngakoro at the far end. I came from this side, so I want to go that way next time. This was the final destination. It’s incredibly beautiful. This breathtaking view was only possible because we walked all the way to the end. I’ll go back to the fork in the road and take the next path. The emerald green “Oyster Pool” is beautiful. The final destination on the opposite side from earlier. We visited all 25 spots and were very satisfied! There was a strong sulfur smell. If you go all the way to the back, you can see the Blue Lagoon. It’s a pretty good walking course. Going all the way to the back might require a bit of stamina~ The return trip is all uphill. So we’ll take our time going back. The colorful natural scenery that can only be seen here is truly wonderful, and it was worth walking the entire course. We’ve returned to the Champagne Pool. This is definitely the most impressive spot. The color changes depending on the time of day, and it was redder than when we arrived. The geothermal attractions felt like another world—they were truly amazing! The souvenir shop features products and goods made from Rotorua’s unique mud components. Back at the entrance, I ordered coffee at the café and took it to go before departing. Day 3 in New Zealand: After leaving Waiotapu, our next destination is… The temperature has dropped to 24°C in the morning.
We make a detour to a tourist spot just before Taupo. We’ve arrived at Huka Falls. Alright, let’s go! Wow! Amazing! The cobalt blue color of the waterfall is breathtaking!
The sound is so loud you can’t hear human voices. The Waikato River, where the Fuka Falls are located, originates from Lake Taupo.
It’s a stunning sight as the water rushes forcefully into the narrow gorge. This is apparently the most popular natural tourist spot in the country.
There were many tourists from various countries. Heading toward the town of Taupo. Fuka Falls was a quick stop.
It was incredibly beautiful. I actually wanted to go hiking, but I decided to save my energy for tomorrow’s main trek on the North Island. I was hungry, so I had lunch in the town of Taupo. Many places only operate until 4:00 PM,
so I made it just in time for the last order. It looked cute and tasted delicious♡ Lake Taupo stretches out before us. Lake Taupo is the largest lake in New Zealand. Checking in Room 24. Apartment-like hotel
New Zealand has this style small kitchen and microwave The room terrace has a great view of Lake Taupo Double bed with hot mattress
Comfortable sofa and desk Bathtub is stylish ♥
No slippers and toothbrush here either Taupo is here for 3 nights tiaki is a pledge that all who travel will also treasure beautiful New Zealand for present and future generations That’s great! A hole-in-one game that stood out during our walk along Lake Taupo. The prize is $10,000 (about 850,000 yen) if you get in the hole on the lake! I’ll give it a try! I’ll give it a shot. Get in? Last ball It’s extremely difficult to get into a moving hole on the wave, even for a store girl. But only those who try can make miracles happen! I love making love to you because I had fun taking pictures, walking and golfing in front of your sign, which is a classic tourist attraction! I came to the supermarket to shop for tomorrow’s trek! I buy lunch to eat at the summit, lots of water and breakfast since we’ll be here for a few days! I’ll be up at 4am tomorrow, so I’ll take an early bath and go to bed at 10pm! The gradation of the sky between the clouds was so beautiful! I’m off to climb Tongariro
it’s 5:10 this morning I’m waiting now for the bus to pick me up at this hotel temperature is not that cold I think it’s like 7 degrees I’m off! Bus from Taupo to Tongariro has arrived
*Booking site is in the summary section Bus is full (high season indeed) From Taupo to the entrance Mangatepopo is about 1 hour 30 minutes, heading Upon arrival, the driver will explain the precautions for the trek, including how to contact us if you want to abandon the trip. We will be picked up again at the exit Walk the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, New Zealand’s most popular one-day trekking trail (20.2 km) Free but reservations required (web reservations required after October 14, 2023) Good luck getting there! If I can’t get on the bus by 15:00, I’ll be left behind
(have to descend in 7.5 hours) I may be a bit conservative with my photography, but I’ll be there! Beautiful! Temperature is 3°C, weather is cloudy and cold but no problem with warm clothes. I’ll be carrying 8 kg on my back with 3 liters of water, water bottle, lunch, and camera equipment. Sign saying to turn back if weather is bad
Obviously BAD with strong winds Okay, let’s go! Let’s go!
I’m going, I’m going, I’m going. We’ve come this far~! There were a few people who turned around here or turned back at this point. It is only at your own risk. Trekking level: ★★★★★
This is an advanced course. A certain level of fitness is required. With time, beginners can also finish. It’s about an hour now, barely. I licked it pretty good! I’m a total beginner, it’s so-so hard! I’m a little fitter than most people, but still… This seems harsh! and going hard for about 7 hours… windy I think I’ve done about 5km now. 15.7km to go! The next difficult part is finally a stiff climb! Tired or cold? Is the weather bad? Is the wind getting stronger? If so, it says turn back. I’m going up that one I’m climbing up I can see a little blue sky
I hope that thing comes at the top 13.7km to go, 4h30 to go. We’ve been climbing for about 2 hours. Well, it’s going well, but I’ve been working hard and walking fast. It’s a lot harder than I heard. I feel like I’m doing about 10,000 squats! Okay, so I’m going to go hard for another 4 hours and 30 minutes! The weather has been a little bit bad, that’s all I can say! Well, but I’m just grateful to be able to enter the mountain! Tongariro, a world heritage site! My first World Heritage Site here in New Zealand! It’s the best!
(And it’s a rare World Heritage Site) Look at this, it’s like the entrance to the other side! They are all going into the fog like they are being sucked in! Next up is that little steep part… I think we’re going to take a little break up there It’s amazing! The view is so vast it looks like we’re on Mars We are so happy to be in such an amazing place! Looking back, people look like ants We’ve climbed quite a bit amazing I made morning rice balls and miso soup – super tasty! 15 minute break Recharge and resume climbing It’s so beautiful! Steep heartbreaking slope
Drizzling rain just before the summit… It feels like we came a little over 8km in about 3 hours! It’s all white and cold… The climb is really tough! I’ll hang in there. I’ll go for it. These are the trekking poles I borrowed from my dad! But I’m glad I borrowed these. Please let it be sunny! Is it the summit already? Too bad the weather was so bad
Well, I guess it’s a good thing we made it up! I was just grateful to be able to come and enter the mountain Finally made it to the top! Can’t see anything because of the gas I hear it’s pretty dangerous from here, so I’m going to concentrate on climbing without taking too many videos! Emerald Lake, the main attraction of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, is in sight! The Blue Pool is in sight! It’s cloudy but I can see a little. Oh my god, it’s so impressive! The rain has stopped and the fog has cleared a bit, so we’ll wait here for about 15 minutes for a clearing Red Crater, which was so white I couldn’t see it, is showing its face! And the brightly colored Emerald Lake is clearly visible from deep within We were lucky to have sunshine! We shared our joy with each other. We had to go on because of the time limit. It’s clearing up quite a bit and it’s amazingly blue! I’m really glad I waited! It was worth the climb. We were blessed with good weather at the end, thank goodness. This is so-so hard! Well then, we’ve got some more to go, so we’ll try a little harder. Wow… We’ll take a break here to take in the spectacular view! 25 minute break Huh? Eh! Amazing! Warm, warm, warm Because it’s a volcano, after all? Is it a hot spring? Is this a hot spring? But it’s steamy there It’s a hot spring, maybe It’s so warm, I want to go in! It’s so cold. It’s so beautiful~. Okay, I’ll do the second half then! This is not the end… With a sense of accomplishment from the climb, I thought all that was left was to descend, but in reality, I was not even halfway there… The spectacular lunar-like scenery is overwhelming We came down there. Amazing! We climbed all the way up there and came all the way down that one, really steep! I did my best! But I still have 11km to go! 3 hours to go, I’m hanging in there! At that time, I didn’t know there was still more climbing to do and I was relaxed! I climbed up from there! A clear blue view after climbing a mountain Blue Lake is just the halfway point The cliff edge is a little scary when the wind blows Oh, so beautiful! I’m much more impressed by the beautiful scenery I can see because of the climb What, is time running out? It’s 12:40 now, so the limit is 2 hours and 20 minutes left That young man with the amazing dash I thought it was just downhill, but there is more climbing to do! Seems like we are walking the same path whether we go forward or backward 1 hour and 45 minutes to go… what time is it? 13:07… oh no! The second half is pretty tough Oh no! I might not make it to the 15:00 bus! I’m in a big hurry! Will this make it in time… I knew it, foreigners have long legs. I’m walking fast here, but they are walking normally there. So, the indication of how many hours, kilometers, and minutes to go may not apply to Japanese people. I’m walking pretty fast, and I’ve been coming at this pace for a long time. They are normal… 3.1km to go I didn’t know the second half would be so hard, and I didn’t realize that taking it easy for about an hour in the first half to rest and wait for weather would backfire here… In the second half, there was no more time to take pictures… We followed the orange triangle marker up and down through the forest… ~The last-looking road looks like it’s almost there Ahhhh, the end! It was super hard! I finished Tongariro Alpine Crossing! Total 7 hours and 25 minutes, lost about 1 hour due to 2 breaks and waiting for weather. Trekking in the wind and rain was almost like running a full marathon. I’m glad I took the bus because I couldn’t drive 1 hour and 30 minutes back home soaking wet and exhausted! This was the hardest trek I have ever done! I can’t say it’s easy for beginners – it’s not easy at all (9+ hours might do it) I’m going to go back to my room, change my clothes, take a bath and relax a bit! shower and reward beer Why does beer taste so good after working as hard as you can? Beer with a view of Lake Taupo is too good! I was so impressed with all the food at the restaurant next to the hotel! The best I’ve had so far (Google *4.9) Tired but the most memorable and wonderful day on the North Island! I slept heavily and woke up in the afternoon
I eat the food I bought at the supermarket Today is a day to relax, assuming I’m tired, so I relax in Taupo. A day when the weather is changing all the time The rain has calmed down a bit and I go to the laundromat to do 5 days of laundry! It’s close to town and has many units. I buy the tokens I need at the supermarket next door. I buy a donut from the bakery next door to eat while waiting for my laundry New Zealand fresh cream is really too good! The quality of dairy products in the dairy nation is amazing! Glad I washed all my climbing gear clean from the rain and dirt! I’ll have to fill up on gas tomorrow as we have a long drive ahead of us Taupo is a small enough town to walk around. Indigenous Maori carved objects adorn the streets. Now in front of New Zealand real estate
Land is so expensive in New Zealand! about 100 million yen? more than 100 million yen That’s great! But I wonder if I can rent it out. New Zealand seems like a pretty nice place to live, and a lot of travelers definitely rent cars. It might be a good idea to always consider renting it out. Hotels are pretty expensive… Hmmm, interesting I walk around looking at real estate ads in quite a few different countries. It’s quite interesting because you can see the price of that land and so on. I’m at a cafe by the lake! I make love to you with a cake full of fresh cream I love the “Flat White”, a staple in New Zealand cafes, with a strong espresso! Lake Taupo is as big as the ocean
It is about the same size as the 23 wards of Tokyo! Three days in Taupo are over in a flash! Walking to the edge of the lakeshore for the last time The sky suddenly changes color and at once a deep blue lake appears. The rain falling in the distance is also very beautiful. The weather was not so good today, but I was able to wash my clothes, walk around the town, and enjoy Taupo at leisure. Yesterday’s restaurant was so good that we are having dinner here again today! Cheers to our last night in Taupo! The food looks beautiful and tastes perfect! Especially the roasted cauliflower! I actually lost my camera yesterday and was at a loss, but the restaurant staff delivered it and miraculously it was found! So I came here to thank you in person
Everyone in New Zealand is so kind and makes the trip so much fun! We checked out of the hotel at 9:00am and left Taupo! Day 6 of our New Zealand trip
We left Taupo and headed next to… Today we will travel 450km towards the capital Wellington! It’s almost going to be a day of travel! As they say New Zealand has four seasons in a day, the weather is changeable and the temperature varies a lot! We’ll stop by the supermarket and get some breakfast! I bought some flat whites and potatoes and stuff~! There are about 5 times the population of New Zealand. This one I bought earlier was not very palatable… Flat whites are good everywhere We traveled for about 5 hours and 30 minutes from Taupo, with sunny and rainy weather! We have arrived at Wellington, the capital of New Zealand! It’s the capital of New Zealand, so it has an urban atmosphere Traffic is congested in the city. The store I want to go to is open until 16:00, so I park in the free parking area and walk there. Organic chocolate store with factory made from the highest quality Ethical Trade beans! Cute package design ♥ I buy some as souvenirs! I also ordered a chocolate drink! I love to make love to you! Cuba Street, one of the main streets in Wellington, is very colorful interesting moving bucket fountain A quick walk around town and back to the car filling up on gas Our trip to the North Island is almost over. I’m heading to the airport now to return my rental car. Rental cars are really expensive on the North Island, about 25,000 yen per day equivalent, so I will return it later today! After soaking up the ocean breeze by the lake, I come to the car rental shop! I’ll return the car Thanks~! Airport shuttle once to the airport I found a Japanese BAR at the airport and had an irresistible urge to eat there. The best food in the world is definitely Japanese food. I call an Uber and head to my hotel! Good location but quite small The Hilton group is very stable First time in New Zealand there were slippers No toothbrush but there was hot chocolate in the tea set! Facilities are perfect, will stay one night in Wellington Cable car stop right in front of the hotel Opened in 1902, it is the only cable car in operation in New Zealand for over 100 years! The red cable car has become an iconic symbol of Wellington. Oh! Just right. I like cable cars because they are full of romance. If any country had a cable car, I would want to ride it. The spatial effect is like time travel Futuristic tunnel is exciting even for adults We reached the top in about 5 minutes! The spot where you can see the view that is Wellington There are several museums, botanical gardens, and hiking trails at the top! It’s already evening so we’ll take a short walk on the short trail It’s very windy on the hill at dusk and I feel like I’m going to be blown away, but sometimes the sunset is very beautiful. Sundial behind the observatory Standing on today’s date with my back to the sun and my shadow showing the time The time now is 19:28
I’m mostly right Happy with the view of the lush gardens and The Wellington, even if it was only for a short time Cable car ride back Colorful rainbow paintings on the wall
seemed to represent the cable car experience I’m going to go have some food We’re at a Cuban restaurant nearby that had good reviews! The juicy burgers are too good! Cuban food is so good! It was such a hit! I’m full and very satisfied ♡♡♡! Not many restaurants in New Zealand stay open late, so we were lucky to get in without a reservation! I heard that Mac’s has flat whites, so I stopped by Wellington is the capital city so I wanted to come. It was only half a day but I enjoyed it. Checked out of hotel at 8:00 and headed to airport! About a week trip to North Island. I was able to see a lot of beautiful nature that is unique to North Island. We will now take a domestic flight to Queenstown! NZ Airlines domestic flights are free up to 2 pieces (each piece 23kg). So I came here to split my luggage but… Check in anyway When I came from Japan with NZ Airlines, it was OK up to 23.99kg. As I thought, it was heavy, but the staff said OK! Camera equipment makes the carry-on weight 7kg, so I check everything else in successfully completed! International flights are limited to one piece, so I’m afraid of the return trip Revisiting yesterday’s sushi because it was so good. I’ll have a light breakfast. New Zealand North Island Edition
Thanks for watching! Please come back and watch the South Island of New Zealand version!
