【6泊7日宮城一周④】1泊2食7480円の牛タン、鰻、刺身付旅館!登米名物油麩丼!【南三陸・登米旅】

On my previous trip, I visited the Tsunami Memorial Museum in Ishinomaki, then enjoyed Sanriku seafood at a guesthouse in Kesennuma, and had Kesennuma offal for lunch the next day.I’m at Roadside Station San San Minami Sanriku in Minami Sanriku Town, Motoyoshi District, Miyagi Prefecture. In addition to the Minami Sanriku San San Shopping Street, this roadside station is home to the Minami Sanriku 311 Memorial Earthquake Memorial Museum, the Minami Sanriku Portal Center tourist exchange facility, and JR Shizugawa Station. The parking lot is also very spacious and easy to park in.First , I’ll walk through Minami Sanriku San San Shopping Street, which literally feels more like a shopping street than a roadside station, with restaurants, souvenir shops, and even an osteopathic clinic.I’ll go to Tsuki to Subaru in Minami Sanriku Town, Motoyoshi District, Miyagi Prefecture and try some soft-serve ice cream at this shop: Zunda Soft, this is it! “Zunda Soft Serve” 550 yen A delicious soft serve ice cream with the flavor and texture of zunda. Continue walking to the “Minamisanriku Town Earthquake Reconstruction Memorial Park” located next door. “Nakabashi Bridge” connects the park to Sansan Shopping Arcade and is lit up at night as a symbol of reconstruction. From the bridge you can see the Disaster Prevention Office Building . In the center of the park is “Hill of Prayer”, where the city center once stood. A stone monument commemorating the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake has been erected on “Road of Heights”, and it is said that the tsunami reached up to this height. I thought I saw something moving, and it turned out to be a self-driving lawnmower!? The Disaster Prevention Office has been preserved in its original state as a relic of the earthquake. From here, we continue on to Umibe no Hiroba (Seaside Plaza), which opened in July 2023 and is home to a Moai statue gifted from Easter Island. What is the connection between Minamisanriku and the Moai statue? The 1960 Chilean earthquake caused a tsunami to hit the former Shizugawa town, causing extensive damage. Chile presented the Condor Monument to the town. In 1991, Minamisanriku commissioned a Chilean sculptor to install a Moai statue in Matsubara Park. The statue was destroyed in the Great East Japan Earthquake, but the Japan-Chile Economic Committee, upon hearing this, approached the Easter Island elders and others, and a new Moai statue was created using Easter Island stone, which had been kept secret. And so, 17,000 km from Easter Island, the Moai statue was installed in Minamisanriku. Today’s accommodation is in Tome City, so we still have some time before check-in, so we head off the Sanriku Expressway and take a little detour to the roadside station in Tome City, Miyagi Prefecture. “Mitakitado” is a roadside station I visited for the first time, and it was fun just to look around. There were plenty of local produce and souvenirs. I bought some chilled Chinese noodles, which are said to have originated in Sendai, as a souvenir . The parking lot was a little further away. “Ebitake Ryokan” in Tome City, Miyagi Prefecture. Apparently, they also run a beef tongue restaurant called “Tan-yaki Taabo.” After checking in, the refrigerator was shared. The interior had a sense of history. The room was a 6-tatami Japanese- style room on the second floor, with a wide veranda. The elegant alcove had a nice hanging scroll, and a hanger on the wall next to it . To soothe the fatigue of my travels, I headed to the bath. “I’m taking a bath.” The changing room was small, but it was available for private use, so that wasn’t a problem. There were two washing areas. It wasn’t a hot spring, but it was nice to have a bath where I could relax, rather than a unit bath. It was time for dinner . Wow, this is luxurious! Exciting! Freshly grilled beef tongue from “Tan-yaki Taabo” and grilled eel! Assorted sashimi, vinegared dishes , egg, and tofu. The rice was mixed with barley rice. Barley rice is the best for beef tongue. I started with my favorite beef tongue. Delicious! Just as you’d expect from a specialty store! The Kanto-style eel is steamed and then grilled , and the tender meat is delicious with the sweet and spicy sauce that goes well with rice! The miso soup is topped with daikon radish and nameko mushrooms , and the thick-sliced bonito tataki is very satisfying. The negitoro is served on top of rice, and the squid has a sticky texture and the large red shrimp is sweet! 帰りました。 English: Finally , I had unadon (grilled eel rice) . Oh, there was also Muscat grapes. Phew, what a meal, what a delicious meal! The next morning , I had breakfast right away . Plenty of white rice, tofu, and fried gluten miso soup. A breakfast carefully prepared that morning was a blessing. The mackerel was delicious and went well with the rice. Maybe it was eggplant? Bitter melon for breakfast is unusual. Fried gluten is an ingredient that has been passed down in the Tome region for a long time. Finally, I had natto rice , which was a delicious meal ! Checked out. Ebitake Ryokan was a nice place to stay. I did a little shopping at the local supermarket and then headed to Tome-cho, Tome City, but before that, there was somewhere I wanted to stop by. I was at the Ishinomori Shotaro Hometown Memorial Museum in Tome City, Miyagi Prefecture. Tome City is the birthplace of Ishinomori Shotaro, and this memorial museum and his birthplace are open to the public. Due to time constraints, I only visited his birthplace this time. There are statues of Kamen Rider and Cyborg 009 all over town! The birthplace of Shotaro Ishinomori in Tome City, Miyagi Prefecture is open from 9:30 to 17:00, and is closed on Mondays. Shotaro Ishinomori, whose real name was Shotaro Onodera, was born in 1938 in Ishinomori Town, Miyagi Prefecture (now Tome City). He originally aspired to be a film director, but one day he encountered Osamu Tezuka’s manga and was so inspired that he began drawing manga himself. During his high school years, he founded the East Japan Manga Research Society. This activity gained him a reputation, and Osamu asked him to be an assistant on Astro Boy. While still in high school, he made his debut as a manga artist with the work “Second Class Angel.” His representative works include “Kamen Rider” and “Cyborg 009.” He passed away at the age of 60, and is one of Japan’s leading manga artists. Going for lunch in Tome Town? There is a specialty dish made with fried gluten, a traditional Tome food. “Ajidokoro” in Tome City, Miyagi Prefecture “Mon” is known as the birthplace of the aburafu donburi , and although their oyakodon and kakuni donburi look delicious, the only choice here is the aburafu donburi. The aburafu donburi was created about 30 years ago as a substitute for fried tofu for people who don’t like chicken, and it was the proprietress of this restaurant who invented it, the “Aburafu Donburi” (770 yen) looks almost exactly like an oyakodon, but with fried tofu instead of chicken, you might think it would be lacking in flavor, but that’s not the case at all! It’s very filling! The basic broth and the seasoning of the ingredients are excellent, and it’s delicious! This area is called “Miyagi’s Meiji Village,” and there are buildings reminiscent of the Meiji period, such as samurai residences and merchant houses. Tome City and Tome Town are pronounced “Tomeshi Toyomamachi.” The same kanji character “Tome” can be pronounced in two ways. As someone from Toyama, I was confused at first because it was an unfamiliar place name. It was originally pronounced “Toyoma,” but at the beginning of the Meiji period, it was deemed difficult to pronounce, so it was pronounced “Tome.” Currently, the city name is “Tome” and the town name is “Toyoma.” Today’s accommodation is Higashimatsushima City, and I’ll stop by a roadside station, “Roadside Station Johin no Sato,” in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture.
