  1. Are you a guide by any chance? Because this is going on my bucket list and on my 1st trip to Japan I plan on doing this if possible

  2. Thanks for these videos. They remind me of walking in the snow in the Utah mountains. Shame I can't anymore.

  3. Awesome video as always. Love it out there. I always tell people if they are going up there and don’t have a guide to make sure to carry a gps. If you’re unfamiliar with the area, don’t rely on your phone. White out conditions with strong wind is no bueno. I’ve been up there before when it was so cold my iPhone wouldn’t work. If you do carry a phone make sure to keep it in a water proof bag. Also, been up there in bad conditions and my phone got moisture inside the charging input and shut down…..also in white out conditions.

Also, know where the two refugee camps are and have them saved on your gps. You never know!

  4. Really nice trip! All those snow-trees look like a fairytale! I’ll keep it in my mind for when I ever visit!

  5. What a beautiful hike! Yes, I'd be nervous too looking over that slippy edge lol but so worth it. Thank you so much for filming and sharing! 🏔️

  6. Your passion for hiking and Japan comes through so nicely in these videos! It’s so nice to watch! I also really appreciate your concern for safety and teaching good habits. That’s important because I’m not a snowshoer but id like to try it one day!

  7. I am rationing your videos to watch them during weekends since we are forbidden from leaving our homes for any reason. They help ease my craving for nature as I am used to running in the mountains during weekends.

  8. Quinlan, I’d love to hear you talk about some of your favorite hikes that you’ve done in a future video, as well as some scary ones that you’ve been through! I’m curious what a bad day of hiking is like. 🤔

  9. How weird (and exciting) to be hiking up a mountain and a stranger calls you by name! It was nice to see you stop and chat with Mihai. It is great to expand my growing channels-to-watch list with collabs (how I found you) and just chance meetings like this.

  10. Thanks for recommending me this place, took the ropeway to the top and was rewarded with an amazing view! Didn't manage to get a guide though, prob can consider it once the Covid situtation dies. Will definitely be back

  11. I rewatched and marveled at the view of Mount Iwaki and a new name to me, Shirakami Sanchi. I did a little research as see that Shirakami Sanchi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the location of some of the last remaining untouched beech forests in Japan and remarkably remote for Japan.

  12. Hi, your videos inspired me to actually live my dreams. My sister and I are trying to plan a trip to japan, hopefully northern Japan. So for our birthday our plan is to go hiking in Japan.

  13. Enjoying Climbing Snowy mountains vicarously with you. I only climbed/hiked a Mountain ( considered an Easy climb – for beginners really) once in my native tropical Philippines going down through a trail of small waterfalls. A very different landscape from that of Northern Japan. Its wonderful though reaching The top seingThe view & feeling The cool wind on your Face. Thanks for sharing your beautiful videos.😊👍🏻

  14. Came here from Sharla's video. This is incredibly beautiful! Once I move to Japan, I really want to explore the north. I really want to experience Aomori, I've seen so much beautiful things about it

  15. I can't believe you don't have more views, Quinlan! Your videos are fantastic, the filming quality is worthy of a documentary. Keep it up, I can't wait to go experience it myself in Japan!

  16. awesome video!I have seen this kind of frozen tresses in other videos, I guess it’s zaoo and the weather was too bad to see anything as you have mentioned in this area it’s the same sometimes this kind of area just tends to be covered by thick fog and strong wind. However, in this video, it just shows you her 100% beauty, which is speechlessly generous. Great video great weather great scenery

  17. its disapointing that you dont have more viewer than this, wish you had, you do awesome and peaceful videos

  18. Incredible video that was shot so well! Thanks so much for giving us valuable information and wonderful sights. May I know if it's essential to rent ski-like snow shoes with the sticks that you're using to walk or are the normal snow shoes enough to just walk a little? No hiking or anything like that. Just wondering as we're not into hiking at all (esp without a guide) but wanted to walk around a bit to capture some nice views. Thank you!

  19. This is beyond words! I was in Hakkoda couple of days ago and I just watched this video now. Definitely going back to Hakkoda for winter hike. Thanks for sharing your tips.
