You DON’T need to visit Inari Shrine in Kyoto at 6am to avoid crowds. Just keep walking. 🚶🏻♀️
I to see you shine.
I visited Inari Shrine during sakura season in Kyoto PLUS a peak afternoon time.
It does get crowded in the beginning of the route, but if you keep walking, it becomes pretty empty. #kyoto #kyototrip #fushimiinari
📍 Fushimi Inari Taisha in Japan is one of Kyoto’s most iconic and important Shinto shrines, famous for its thousands of vibrant red torii gates.
🍚 The shrine is dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice and prosperity.
🚶🏻♀️ The estimated hike up is 40 minutes and 12,000 steps though beautiful torii gates, a few city views and forest.
Honest opinion: the very end of the hike is nothing to write home about (unless you’re actually there to pray), so you might get disappointed.
But the hike up was a nice workout + you’re walking through a forest!
Whatever time you visit, just keep walking. 🚶🏻♀️

Did the whole thing in late July with similar results. It was so much emptier the higher you got. But the heat was brutual!
The tour guide buses show up to everything and it's complete chaos. You just got a power past the fattys
Yes yes yes
I loved the path through the bamboo forest we took by accident. It had all the little shrines, a lot of friendly stray cats and an older japanese man watching me struggle getting up all the stairs at the end, offering me water. It was beautiful
Also bring a backpack with water. Don't be fooled by the vending machines there, offering you drinks. You will hold onto that empty can for a while.
Now I want to walk 12k steps just because your saying I won't 😅
Even better – take the detour off to walk up the back route through a beautiful bamboo forest, without a single person. Arrive at the top to have the whole place for yourself for tori gate photos, and walk back down while laughing at the tourists elbowing each other to get a single pic 😘
Same with angkor wat. Rent a bike and get lost.
I went there and made it all the way up. It was amazing, and i felt compelled and worthy. Sure, i was tired. But no one cant tell me i didnt do it.
True! It's a steep climb. People with less stamina (like me ❤) don't want to be tired for the whole rest of their day and/or sore the next
Loved the boiled eggs and hot tea deep into woods
That might be true but the people I go with can't do that
I climbed it twice and I'd climb it 1000 times more
Climbed the whole thing it was beautiful
Stop reminding me how cool of a kami Inari is and how much I need to go to japan
i got to the top 😊 even tho it was exhausting for me who rarely climb, it was rewarding as well 😊
There's a new video game that just came out in which you can walk around and explore a digital recreation this park. It's called Lushfoil Photography Sim
Giving up is not a choice bruh
I choose to walk again
oh yeah i remember going there
the hike up the mountain is NOT WORTH IT
IM TELLING YOU
THERES NO VIEW
unless you wanna see another shrine
It opens 24 hours, and has light in the night, me and my friends have visited multiple times and it’s all really quiet!
Also please make sure you respect the locals and the shrine one the way, be a good tourist.
My local beach is surrounded by cliffs, so you can only get to the beach through the ladder. Most people just walk maybe 10 minutes maximum after the ladder and settle down, so when you walk longer, you would be completely alone at the beach with absolutely no interruptions. It's such a beautiful experience to be alone in these kinds of places
Bro i walked 30 km for 4 days straight in an event this is nothin
12k steps? That's what i do in a single shift dog walking
This is the case for many places in Japan, especially Arashiyama, it is so crowded in the main streets but if you just walk ten minutes up the mountain it is so peaceful and not crowded, and there are more temples/shrines, shops, and even a famous haunted site.
I made it all the way to the top and the city view was so nice and all the shrines at top were kinda creepy too it's a killer on ur legs
Great Job capturing the spirit of this magical place!
I got lost
Go at night and go to the top
Its not a line. People always assume its a line when people are like that.
Just go around them..
Like me leaving walmart.
Uggggh I wanna go so bad
