Today we’re in the Adaniya area of Kitanakagusuku, where there are not only houses but also many shops. Former foreign residences have been remodeled
and renovated into lovely cafes, so let’s discover lots of different shops today! – Wow, so many sanshin! – So many! While we make traditional sanshin,
we also aim to develop new sanshin and new products. Those necks over there, this was made by the owner, – there are seven traditional styles.
– Seven styles. – Yes. – Did you know?
– No, I thought they were all the same. – Me too! This is the first time I’ve heard of it.
Sorry, we’re such amateurs. I was originally born in Tokyo,
but I wanted to work in something more Okinawan. When I imagine a sanshin craftsman,
I really imagine an old man in an old workshop in downtown, I think it’s great that there are young people doing it too! – So many different sounds…
– Our sanshin play might be a bit of a broadcast accident. Amazing! We could play two notes, just two! Here’s what I want to introduce to you Kana today:
A Danian Cafe, a place I love! Let’s go. I want to eat. I want to eat. As for the concept of the restaurant, I wanted
a place that’s not in the city, like a hidden gem, so I searched around about 14 years ago, and the moment I saw this place, I knew it was the place!
I thought it would be a little hideaway. When I saw the foreign housing at first sight,
I thought it was simple and cool! I’m originally from Sapporo, Hokkaido,
so here we serve soup curry, which is popular in Hokkaido. – The portions are huge!
– The waffles are huge! – Looks delicious! This soup curry also looks incredibly delicious. The Japanese-based soup is the key, – And the vegetables are deep-fried! – It really feels like
the vegetables are raw. – That’s right! – The colors! Ah, it’s like curry, but with soup!
Well, that’s what soup curry is after all! Delicious!
