[福島県北塩原村] 五色沼 / [Kitashiobara Village, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan] Goshiki-numa
五色沼（ごしきぬま）は、1888年の磐梯山噴火によって裏磐梯（うらばんだい）に形成された大小の湖沼群の総称で、季節や天候、見る角度によって水の色が様々に変化することに由来します。エメラルドグリーンやコバルトブルー、赤褐色など多彩な色彩を見せ、その色合いは水中に含まれる火山性物質や水質、周囲の植物、太陽光などが複雑に影響し合って生まれます。
■五色沼の形成と特徴
・磐梯山噴火との関係：1888年（明治21年）の磐梯山北側山体の崩壊（岩屑なだれ）が川をせき止めて多くの湖沼が形成され、「五色沼湖沼群」が誕生しました。
・多彩な色合いの理由：水中に沈殿・浮遊する鉱物粒子や微生物、水質（酸性・中性など）、水深、太陽光の反射や水草の繁茂などが複雑に作用し合い、湖沼によって異なる色合いを呈します。
・代表的な湖沼：毘沙門沼、赤沼、みどろ沼、るり沼、青沼など、数多くの湖沼が集まっています。
※磐梯朝日国立公園の特別保護地区に指定されており、ドローン飛行禁止区域が定められております。事前に管轄へ撮影許可を行って下さい。
（ドローン飛行禁止区域が出来た為、以前のように近くで五色沼の素晴らしい自然風景を残せなくなってしまったのは非常に残念です。）

Goshikinuma is a collective name for a group of large and small lakes and ponds formed on Urabandai Island following the 1888 eruption of Mt. Bandai. The name comes from the diverse color of the water, which changes depending on the season, weather, and viewing angle. The diverse colors, ranging from emerald green to cobalt blue to reddish-brown, are the result of a complex interplay of factors, including volcanic materials in the water, water quality, surrounding vegetation, and sunlight.
■ Formation and Characteristics of Goshikinuma
・Relationship to the Mt. Bandai Eruption: In 1888 (Meiji 21), a debris avalanche on the northern flank of Mt. Bandai dammed the river, forming numerous lakes and ponds, giving birth to the Goshikinuma Lake Group.
・Reasons for the Varied Colors: The complex interplay of mineral particles and microorganisms settling and floating in the water, water quality (acidic, neutral, etc.), water depth, sunlight reflection, and the abundance of aquatic plants results in the lakes’ unique colors.
・Representative Lakes and Ponds: There are numerous lakes and ponds, including Bishamon-numa, Akanuma, Midoronuma, Ruri-numa, and Aonuma.
*This area is designated as a special protected area of Bandai-Asahi National Park, and drone flight is prohibited within this area. Please obtain permission from the relevant authorities beforehand to take photographs.
(It is unfortunate that the creation of this drone flight prohibited area means that we can no longer capture the beautiful natural scenery of Goshikinuma nearby as we once could.)
