Introducing a snorkeling spot. This time, we’re visiting Nakayukui in Onna Village, Okinawa Prefecture. The beach is located along National Route 58 in Onna Village, Okinawa Prefecture. It’s 9 km (12 minutes) by car from Yaka Interchange. It’s 14 km (21 minutes) by car from Kyoda Roadside Station. This is a car video from the Kyoda Roadside Station area. Driving west on National Route 58, turn right at this signposted intersection. This is the intersection. Turn right. After about 250 meters, you’ll find a parking space on the side road on the right. This spot is very popular, and the parking lot fills up by 9:00 AM. This is what the parking lot looked like around 9:30 AM on Saturday, June 21st. It was full. What a shame. This is what the parking lot looked like around 8:30 AM the next morning. There was only one free space. That was a close call. There is parking for 24 cars, but no restrooms or showers. There are two ways to get down to the beach from the parking lot. You can descend to Seragaki Beach from near the parking lot exit, or to Diamond Beach from the neighboring Okashi Goten. To reach Seragaki Beach, go over the fence toward the ocean about 10 meters past the parking lot exit. I decided to descend to Diamond Beach via Okashi Goten. Please do not park in the parking lot inside Okashi Goten. Okashi Goten opens at 9:00 AM. If you want to swim earlier, descend toward Seragaki Beach. I arrived at a beautiful beach: Diamond Beach. There are also sea turtle eggs buried here, so walk carefully. The initial section is relatively shallow. You’ll encounter a wide variety of corals and other creatures. Swim about 250 meters northeast to a 5-meter-deep area of branching coral. This offers some of Okinawa’s best snorkeling. Ships frequently pass through this area, so be sure to bring a float as a marker and swim while watching out for ships. This is what the ocean looked like on June 22, 2025.
