This time, we’re heading out by car to meet Kame Sennin, who is in Nara. Many people only associate Nara with the Great Buddha, but if you watch the video until the end, we’ll dispel that image! Tenkawa Village is located in the center of the Kii Peninsula, with a quarter of the village’s area designated as Yoshino-Kumano National Park. It’s a place where nature remains untouched, and it’s also the birthplace of Shugendo, where many Shugendo practitioners still visit and where the culture is deeply rooted. Tenkawa Village, a village in Nara Prefecture where the beautiful nature and culture of Shugendo remain, is where we’ll go meet Kame Sennin . The idyllic scenery is beautiful, and you’ll only see lines at famous restaurants. Kamesei, which serves grilled local river fish, has plenty of river fish in front of the restaurant! The T-shirt says “Kamesen-ryu”… it’s definitely a conscious effort! The owner, nicknamed Kame-sennin, is in charge of the grill. The fragrant smell of the grilled fish is irresistible. He also served us some boiled sweet potatoes. There was a crunchy egg texture, but the flesh was plump and rich in flavor. By the way, it seems like they only serve the boiled sweet potatoes to female customers. lol Even so, when they’re busy and there’s no shortage of customers , they seem to keep grilling from morning until 5pm. It was fresh and delicious! If you come to Tenkawa Village, be sure to check out other places too (^ ^) If you look at the river, you’ll see river fish like trout. Beautiful nature really makes a difference. Speaking of mountains, game meat is exciting, isn’t it? It also has a fragrant smell… I’ll be embarrassed to hear my comment later. lol Next, I’d like to introduce Menfudou Cave . You can also walk up, but it’s not recommended in the summer because it’s too hot. lol There’s a bit of a queue, but I recommend the trolley. It was hot… Finally, we got on. Isn’t the shape of this log cute? It takes about 5 minutes to reach the top. Fudo Cave is one of the largest in the Kansai region and is a famous spot designated as a prefectural cultural property. It stretches 280m, and the average temperature inside the cave is 8°C, so it feels cool in the summer and warm in the winter, so you can enjoy it all year round. The straw stalactites (straw-shaped stalactites) are particularly valuable, allowing you to see this work of nature. If you visit Tenkawa Village, be sure to check it out! I recommend walking back. The path is well-leveled, so it’s easy. Finally, we played in the river a bit. The water was so beautiful, I was looking for a draining stone. lol Is it just me? It made me want to play? It was easier than I expected, so yay!! lol Finally, we went to a nice cafe. It was hot, so I wanted a cold drink. It calmed me down.
