Vanlife Japan | キャンピングカーで北海道2週間旅 | 2日目 – 小樽から苫前海岸へ
2 minute drive to the Minoi [Music] space applei turn left then the destination is on your right whiskey the whis yesterday I was telling you that yeah the destination is on your right this arrived distillery yeah I guess over Sure. Go down packaging. Yeah. Well, it’s a small place, so it is what it is. Look, we’re not we’re not changing. There’s There’s plenty of room over there. Just a little hike to the bathroom. Okay, so day one on our trip throughout Hokkaido and following along the coastline of the Sea of Japan. Uh last night we arrived on the ferry that’s left from My Zaru on the Sea of Japan side is in the the Kyoto Prefecture and right now we’re slowly we’re heading up all the way up to Wakanai which is the most northern point of Hokkaido and we spent the night at this michinoi space apple yoi and a little bit busy but it was only about 30 minutes from the port going the opposite direction but there is the best we can find is you arrive around 9:00 p.m. So if you’re going to take that ferry uh see all these people are getting ready to leave themselves and we’re about to do the same book. When do you think we’ll fill it up? 2025. And this is our first michinoi stamp in Hokkaido Ishiari. Wow, look at all these. Oh my goodness. But it’s a really nice Michino. Right by the ocean. Beautiful. Nice and clean. Modern. Let’s see. Found it with your fingernails. Put your fingernails right there. Let’s do this. Taco pizza as in taco as in octopus in Japanese. Look at that. Oh, you look good. And check out the view. It’s kind of an interesting beach though, huh? Black sand and then obviously what’s enclosed. A real nice place for the kids and what not to swim. All right, we’re going to keep on heading that way. [Music] Oh, look at this huge butterfly. [Music] He’s so pretty. All right, you need to get off me now, though. [Music] Kitty kitty kitty. [Music] There’s a fuyo campground right here doing this beautiful stretch. I’m trying to figure out if you can park here somewhere, but there is a little wash station and then the restroom is over there and it’s actually quite clean. I would spend the night here. The only thing is uh kind of off this uh somewhat busy road, but the restrooms are clean. Not sure if they open at night, but definitely a a spot to consider. Really beautiful. [Music] All right. So, making a quick stop at Minoaki Ruoy. Look at this really beautiful park and the ample parking for motorcycles and vehicles. The ocean is out that way. And we’re going to keep on going and find a spot at the next michinoaki that is supposedly open late at night and we’re going to probably rest there. For now, let’s just go in here and check it out. [Music] Oh, okay. So, they have some places in English, right? But it kind of gives you the QR code and the location of where you want to go and you just kind of pick all these different coupons. I guess that’s pretty neat. I’ve never seen something like that. [Music] onen. Yeah. Huh. That’s cool. [Music] They have nice clean restrooms, but it’s rather small. There’s not a whole lot here. But yeah, not bad. Spend the night here when if you need to rest. [Music] Following along the coastline this next right here is a nishin bay. Really cool and looks like it’s a uh historical let’s see important cultural property of the Hanada family herring lodge. Uh this is the building right there. That one in the background. We’re going to go check it out real quick. But right behind it is a beautiful ocean. And next stop should be where we going to be spending the night. Let’s go check out the inside. [Music] Unfortunately, to get in there is closed already because it’s almost 5. Let’s go check out this other building. But look at it’s really cool. This is a historical building. Let’s see what this sign says. And I think it’s way too damaged. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] So this was Mino Fuat Domay. Kind of an interesting name. And they have an onsen here. And it’s a hotel and restaurant and beautiful ocean view. We’re going to see if we could use the onsen and get some dinner. And we’re going to be spending the night here. Almost 6:00 p.m. So we’ve been driving all day. along the coast. And tomorrow we’ll be doing the same. [Music] Wow, stunning view. It’s going to be a beautiful sunset. What do you want? [Music]
Day 2 of our two-week Hokkaido camper van journey! After arriving in Otaru, we begin our coastal drive with stops at Michi-no-Eki and scenic viewpoints along the Ishikari Plains. Highlights include the oceanfront Michi-no-Eki Atsuta, cultural sites at Obira Nishin-Banya, and the renovated Fu-W Tomamae with its relaxing onsen, RV campground, and nearby windmills. A full day of vanlife on Hokkaido’s west coast.
