【函館】海鮮食べ放題の朝食バイキングが凄かった!函館湯の川温泉 海と灯/ヒューイットリゾート

Hello from Hakodate! This time, we’ve come to Yunokawa Onsen in Hakodate, Hokkaido! This place, “Umi to Akari Hewitt Hotel,” is a hot spring resort hotel that’s currently trending among travel enthusiasts. And the reason is… Unlimited salmon roe and sashimi! It features one of Hokkaido’s largest breakfast buffets, with around 140 different dishes. On the top floor, you can also enjoy a breathtaking natural hot spring with views of the Tsugaru Strait. At night, the place is wrapped in the glow of fishing fires and moonlight—truly living up to its name, “Sea and Light.” This time, we’ll fully introduce the luxurious Hakodate breakfast buffet and the relaxing charm of staying at Yunokawa Onsen! So, let’s go! We’ll show the hotel and rooms later, but first, we’ve arrived at the breakfast venue, “Gesshu”! Here, there are an incredible 140 dishes! One of Hokkaido’s largest breakfast buffets! The first thing that catches your eye is the seafood corner, where you can pile up fresh salmon roe and sashimi as much as you like! Just looking at it already gets you excited! There’s also local Hokkaido cheese and grilled fish, seasonal salads, and plenty of desserts. There’s bread and Western dishes as well, making it truly a “crossroads of Hokkaido cuisine.” It’s an extravagant lineup right from the morning. So today, we’ll plate our food and carefully savor the popular menu items. First of all, of course… We have to start with salmon roe! Plenty of it on top of white rice…! From this moment, happiness is guaranteed. Since we’re at it, let’s make a generous seafood rice bowl! Octopus, salmon, mackerel, scallops, negitoro, squid, amberjack— all fresh and glistening. Can’t stop! Ah, maybe I piled too much? (laughs) If I add any more… Yep, it’s completely overflowing! Ah, I should’ve added the salmon roe last… Order mistake aside, taste matters more than appearance! To finish, I’ll add miso soup with plenty of seaweed. And it’s complete! Hakodate morning luxury: seafood-packed breakfast bowl! Now, let’s eat! First up, the star: salmon roe. Wow… the popping texture! The salty umami spreads all over your mouth… It pairs perfectly with rice! This is definitely a happiness-guaranteed breakfast. No, actually, it’s “morning victory”! Next, salmon. Tender and fatty, just perfect! And the scallops are sweet…! The more you chew, the more the flavor spreads. Eating negitoro and salmon roe together creates another perfect harmony. Truly “Hakodate’s orchestra♪” ← in the style of Hikomaru The miso soup fills your mouth with a gentle seaweed aroma, instantly refreshing your palate. The texture of seaweed is so fun! This combination is just perfect. Wow, is it really okay to indulge this much in the morning? Unlimited salmon roe breakfast—completely over the top! Next… what should I try? After all, there are about 140 dishes here! I’m so spoiled for choice! The salad corner is also incredibly impressive. You wouldn’t even think this is breakfast. Honestly, it looks like a dinner buffet. And the bread selection is amazing too! Freshly baked bread and pizza, and a morning toast with Hakodate milk! …Yeah, grilled fish, pizza, and milk— a bit of a strange combination (laughs). But that’s the joy of a buffet! With so many options, I might only manage about 10% today. But one thing’s for sure! This “Umi to Akari Hotel Hakodate” is a guaranteed repeat visit! Wait, wine in the morning!? Unbelievably, there’s even a morning wine corner. And nearby… There’s a cheese corner perfect for wine too! The variety this early in the morning is just amazing, isn’t it? …But I have an important mission later today,
so I reluctantly have to skip the alcohol. Instead, I’ll just enjoy some cheese. And here we have eggs Benedict, made to order. They serve it fresh right after it’s prepared. The shape got a little messy, but… Look at this delicious-looking result! Alright, let’s dig in! My very first eggs Benedict. Inside, it’s packed with vegetables like zucchini, tomato, bell pepper,
and eggplant. And this cheese… rich and authentic. Way too luxurious for the morning~ Thank you for the meal. After breakfast, it’s definitely coffee time. The coffee here is really something special. They use Misuzu Coffee, a long-established Hakodate brand
founded in 1932! The aroma alone is extraordinary. And the dessert corner is just as impressive! Cakes, panna cotta, even pudding. And unbelievably, there’s even parfaits! Add a financier in. It’s completely sweets time from the very morning. Alright, let’s enjoy dessert! The combination of coffee aroma and sweet treats is perfect. Savoring slowly, I finally feel relaxed. Still, the breakfast buffet at Umi to Akari Hotel Hakodate is top quality no matter where you look! Seafood, Western dishes, and desserts—all at a high level. This is without a doubt one of the best breakfasts in Hakodate! Now, let me introduce the hotel we stayed at. This time, we stayed at Umi to Akari / Hewitt Resort Hakodate in Yunokawa Onsen. It’s a popular resort located in Yunokawa Onsen,
one of Hokkaido’s three major hot spring areas. Access from the airport is also excellent. From Hakodate Airport: Take the bus from Stop 2, get off at “Tropical Botanical Garden Front,”
just a 1-minute walk. By taxi, about 10 minutes, roughly 1,200 yen. From JR Hakodate Station: Take the bus from Stop 3, same stop, just a 1-minute walk. By streetcar, get off at “Yunokawa Onsen,” 12-minute walk. By taxi, about 13 minutes, fare around 2,200 yen. It’s conveniently located for sightseeing and airport access, right in the center of Yunokawa Onsen while maintaining a calm atmosphere. Inside, true to the name “Umi to Akari,” the space is a modern Japanese style, wrapped in the warmth of wood and soft light. From the moment you enter the lobby, you feel the resort vibe. Our plan included breakfast, priced at 14,980 yen + 150 yen bathing tax. With this quality at this price, the cost performance is excellent. The rooms are clean and have a calm design. Spacious beds and humidifying air purifiers. Amenities and other facilities are also well-equipped. And the highlight of this hotel is the natural hot spring “Tenkai” on the top 12th floor. The open-air bath overlooking the Tsugaru Strait is surrounded at night by fishing lights and moonlight, offering a luxurious experience “healed by the lights.” Bathing in the morning’s fresh air is also amazing. It’s also a big plus that the hotel has its own source on the property! Umi to Akari Hotel Hakodate exceeded expectations! A seafood buffet with unlimited salmon roe from morning, and a hot spring with views of the Tsugaru Strait. Every corner of the stay was highly satisfying. Access is excellent, about 10 minutes from the airport. It’s really convenient as a base for sightseeing. At Yunokawa Onsen, one of Hakodate’s representative hot spring areas, the hotel harmonizes old-town charm with modern comfort. It’s truly a space where “relaxation and luxury” coexist. How was that? 1.
