TRIP #90 | 🇯🇵 愛知「清州城」賞櫻美地🌸 | 織田信長與濃姬 💖 相戀之地 | 愛知🌤️須清市

Kiyosu City, Aichi Prefecture Today I’m taking the JR from Nagoya Station, heading to the place where Nobunaga and Nohime began their life together as a couple!! JR Tokaido Main Line: Nagoya → Kiyosu = JPY 610 (about 6 minutes) JR Kiyosu Station is small, but really neat and charming The roof has a cute glass tower that lets in light, so they save on electricity! It’s about a 15-minute walk from Kiyosu Station to Kiyosu Park Wow… the sky is gray today, but the cherry blossoms are still gorgeous Kiyosu Furusato-no-Yakata (Kiyosu Hometown Museum) This is part of the old Kiyosu Castle site— now a rest area with souvenirs and local snacks Got myself a “Kiyosu-yaki” (like a dorayaki pancake) And also got a Nobunaga Monaka, a sweet red bean treat The shell is a crispy rice wafer Inside is red bean paste!! Hmm… Super sweet red beans, just the usual wagashi taste. Wow, the sky cleared and the sakura look even prettier Kiyosu Castle peeking out from behind the blossoms White cherry blossoms all around the park, so beautiful under the blue sky!! Wow, this cherry blossom tunnel is amazing!! Festival lanterns with Kirin Beer logos Is that helicopter checking out the blossom views?! The food stalls under the cherry trees are so cute, love this vibe Got takoyaki for 500 yen Hmm this takoyaki is kinda dry and not what I expected… Soy sauce And mayo… reminds me of when I worked at a sushi place, we always drizzled mayo on fried squid in nice patterns!! Done!! Doesn’t look great… oh well!! Flat-footed takoyaki?! The wooden lantern stand in front of the gate looks nice Kiyosu Castle was first built in 1405 during the Muromachi era, and Nobunaga won his battle here in 1560 Wow, is this really the place where Nobunaga and Nohime once lived together?! This is a replica of the “Nobunaga Wall,” originally offered to Atsuta Shrine after Nobunaga prayed before the Battle of Okehazama and won Basho’s haiku monument: “Blossoms like clouds, bells from Ueno or Asakusa?”
It describes cherry blossoms in full bloom like a sea of clouds, with distant temple bells—unsure if from Ueno’s Kan’ei-ji or Asakusa’s Sensō-ji
(But it doesn’t really seem related to Kiyosu Castle, maybe just decoration?!) The Kiyosu Castle you see now was rebuilt in 1989, it’s actually a concrete structure It would be even prettier with blue skies Castle tower admission is 400 yen, inside are detailed exhibits on history and culture—but no photos allowed!! The palace garden is a dry landscape garden style with Mino stones Geinō Culture Hall—looks like a traditional Japanese study, inside is the “Geinō Room,” but seems closed today?! Kiyosu Castle is really close to Nagoya city, super easy to access. Next time I hope to film it under blue skies It’s spring, but from this angle it kind of looks like autumn… A small shrine dedicated to Oda Nobunaga On the backside of Kiyosu Castle, there’s another park, and today it also has food stalls—this side is all car-style stalls Are these handprints and drawings from when the castle was rebuilt?! There’s a statue of Oda Nobunaga in the park And right next to him, a statue of Nohime too Kiyosu is where Nobunaga and Nohime built their bond and faced the challenges of the Warring States together The cherry blossoms here are stunning, I want to come back next year when it’s sunny Just a bike parked carelessly on the grass with sakura petals, yet it looks so picturesque Site of Kiyosu-juku Honjin on the Mino Road—it was the most gorgeous inn of its time, but collapsed in the 1891 Nobi Earthquake!! Uenogō Shrine—one of the guardian shrines of Kiyosu Castle, protecting the castle and town since the Sengoku era These komainu lion-dogs look unusually cute!! Maybe it’s their proportions?! Back then, locals and Nobunaga’s samurai used to come here to pray Inside the grounds there’s also Kamihata Inari Shrine, protecting farmers and merchants During the Edo era shrine-merging policy, many small shrines were combined into village ones—same here too Next to it is Tsushima Shrine, where people pray for health and protection from epidemics Before the Meitetsu train, a quick stop at Coffee House Lamp near the station Too many choices, hard to decide Before the dessert and coffee, they served a little snack pack Peanuts and black beans—crispy and tasty! This café was once a traditional home, and they kept the original structure, it’s stunning!! A super sweet set—caramel pancake plus cappuccino = 1,110 yen Nothing special written on the receipt Wait… is this cinnamon?! Am I using this right?! Wow, just a sprinkle and the cinnamon really boosts the coffee flavor!! The pancake is topped with caramel, cream, and ice cream I love caramel pancakes, so good!! After dessert, dropped by the supermarket next door—fewer people here, so shopping feels more relaxed!! Ah~ bought kombu to use when making chicken soup back home, Japanese kombu is the perfect size, in Taiwan it’s usually super long… Lazy person’s essential miso soup, definitely buying!! Nishio matcha flavor?! Wow, never seen that, gotta try! Found my favorite Japanese-style kimchi with a hint of wasabi, sooo good—it’s a must-stock in my fridge when I stay here!! Soy milk, for tonight or tomorrow morning Supermarket bento, dinner tonight The clouds at sunset look beautiful—even without seeing the whole sun, it’s still amazing Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line Express: Shin-Kiyosu → Meitetsu Nagoya = 270 yen (about 10 minutes) Back at Nagoya Station, walking to the hotel for a rest. See you tomorrow, Nagoya~
