【熊本の隠れ宿】両親へのプレゼント旅行|赤ちゃん連れで泊まる露天風呂付き宿♨️
Late October, 2025. As a gift trip for my husband’s parents,
we came to stay at “Yunokura Inn.” It’s a beautiful hot spring inn surrounded by nature. There are two types of villas to choose from — “Kotobukitei” and “Fukutei.” Both come with private open-air baths and traditional detached-style rooms. We stayed in “Kotobukitei,” which is slightly more premium than Fukutei. First, we check in. The lobby is stunning and full of warmth. Our 6-month-old baby is with us on this trip too. After check-in, we’re guided to our room. The path is hilly and covered with acorns,
so it’s best to watch your step. We booked two rooms — one for my in-laws,
and one for us. They were right next to each other. Let’s start with our room — “Hikodake.” As soon as you enter,
there’s a coffee maker and a mini fridge. The washroom is modern and elegant. Soft classical music plays in the restroom —
so soothing. Amenities like toothbrushes, lotion, and a hair dryer are all provided. Here it is — the long-awaited open-air bath. The water flows directly from the natural hot spring source. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are all available. The greenery view from the bath is just beautiful. Next, let’s take a look at my in-laws’ room — “Nishidake.” The entrance design is almost the same. A cozy Japanese-style room,
perfect for two people. Their bath area feels a little different from ours. The tub is wider, while the washing area is smaller. Back in our room — time for a bath!
Our baby’s first hot spring experience. We tried on the lounge wear —
soft and comfortable fabric. The beige color matches the atmosphere of the inn perfectly. They even prepared a tiny outfit for our baby! So happy to wear matching outfits as a family. Such a lovely memory to keep. The inn also gifted our baby a “Kumamon” towel. It’s so cute — we’ll treasure it. Tea time after the bath. The teacups are absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed a delicious cup of green tea. They served seedless pickled plums
to go with the tea. The tartness of the plums matched perfectly with the tea’s bitterness. And this — “bite-size black bean yokan.” Packed with big, chewy black beans. It was so good we bought some as souvenirs. Before dinner, we took a little walk to build an appetite. We borrowed traditional wooden sandals from the inn. Cute — and surprisingly comfortable to walk in. At night, the whole area lights up beautifully. Even though it’s late October,
we were comfortable in just our loungewear. We visited the Fukutei side,
where there’s a souvenir shop and more. Such a lovely, cozy atmosphere. Here’s a look at the layout between Kotobukitei and Fukutei. Fukutei has fewer slopes,
so it’s better for guests who prefer easy walking. By the way, Fukutei’s dining area isn’t private. If you want a private room,
Kotobukitei is worth the extra cost. We stopped by the souvenir shop. It’s small but charming. They sell the same black bean yokan we had in the room. Even the tea cups from our room are for sale. Would make a nice memory to bring one home. They even sell the wooden sandals! Guests can also use the public day-use hot spring next door. It’s located beside Kotobukitei, in the main building. For day visitors, the entrance fee is 600 yen. The facility is clean and spacious. We couldn’t enter with our baby,
but the photos looked wonderful. Dinner time. We were given a semi-private dining room —
perfect for families with babies. A luxurious meal made with local ingredients. Our baby fell asleep,
so we could enjoy dinner slowly. Since I’m breastfeeding,
I enjoyed a refreshing ginger ale. They even provided a baby bouncer — super helpful! Dessert was the perfect sweet finish. After dinner, we received a light late-night snack. A cute little lunch box with a rice ball and pickles. Later, we stopped by the bar to buy some snacks. It’s a café during the day (11:00–17:00)
and turns into a self-service bar at night (19:00–23:00). They offer drinks like lemon sour, shochu, wine, and whiskey. All just 500 yen per glass. You can also sit and enjoy your drink right there. We’d love to come back again
when our son is older. We brought our own drinks,
so we just bought some snacks to take back. When we returned, our futons were neatly prepared. Time for one last dip
in the large outdoor bath for guests. — The Next Morning — We woke up early for a morning bath
and brewed some delicious coffee. I wrote our thoughts in the guest comment book. It was such a wonderful stay —
we’re truly grateful. The view from our window was breathtaking. The soft morning sunlight felt amazing. Breakfast was served in the same room as dinner. So many perfect side dishes to go with rice. We couldn’t help having seconds! After breakfast, it’s time to check out. We were so happy to give this trip as a gift to my in-laws. We’ll definitely come back again someday.
