秋田県仙北市 乳頭温泉郷 黒湯温泉に宿泊してきました。

乳頭温泉郷の最奥にある古い湯治場を起源とする黒湯温泉は、茅葺きや杉皮葺きの古い建物が残る情緒ある温泉地。山間の渓流沿いに湧く豊富な湯量と、ブナ林に囲まれた静かな環境が特徴の秘湯ファンには溜まらない人気の湯宿です。

発見・開湯は江戸時代とされ、伝統的な湯治文化と渓流沿いの素朴な風情が今も残っています。

漫画家・つげ義春が描いたことでも有名で、現在も往時の雰囲気を残しています。黒を基調にした建屋と旅館棟・湯治棟に分かれた滞在オプションも魅力。旅館棟は定期的にリノベーションされ快適な滞在を楽しむことが出来ます。つい先日からエアコンも導入され快適になりました。

温泉は単純硫化水素泉。成分の濃さは控えめながらしっかり硫黄臭のする湯は長く浸かっても湯あたりしないことが特徴で、たくさんの湯屋をはしごしながら温泉三昧を楽しむことが出来ます。古くから変わらない混浴露天と男女別の露天、そして数々の内湯も風情に富み、時間の許す限り湯に浸かる時間は素晴らしいの一言。

秋田や地産地消の幸をふんだんに使った食事も美味しく、あっという間の2日間でした。乳頭温泉郷で人気の宿ながら今まで訪問しなかったことを後悔したほどです。

紅葉の季節は特に人気で予約も取りづらいようですが、是非次回はそのタイミングでの訪問をしたいものです。

I stayed at Kuroyu Onsen in Nyuto Onsenkyo, Semboku City, Akita Prefecture.

Originating from an old hot springs resort at the very back of Nyuto Onsenkyo, Kuroyu Onsen is a charming hot spring resort with its old thatched and cedar bark buildings. Its abundant hot springs, which spring up along a mountain stream, and its tranquil setting surrounded by beech forests, make it a popular hot spring inn for enthusiasts of hidden hot springs.

Discovered and opened during the Edo period, the hot springs still retain their traditional hot spring therapy culture and rustic streamside atmosphere.

Famous for being illustrated by manga artist Yoshiharu Tsuge, the area still retains its nostalgic atmosphere. Another attractive feature is the black-themed building, which is divided into a ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) and hot spring therapy building. The ryokan building is regularly renovated, allowing for a comfortable stay. Air conditioning was recently installed, making it even more comfortable.

The hot spring is a simple hydrogen sulfide spring. The water, while not too concentrated, has a distinct sulfur smell and is characterized by the fact that you won’t get sick even if you soak for a long time. You can enjoy the hot springs to your heart’s content by visiting the many bathhouses. There are both mixed-gender open-air baths that have remained unchanged since ancient times, as well as separate open-air baths for men and women, and numerous indoor baths that are full of charm. Spending as much time in the hot springs as you can is simply wonderful.

The meals, made with plenty of Akita and locally sourced produce, were also delicious, and the two days just flew by. Despite being a popular inn in the Nyuto Onsen area, I regretted not having visited before.

The autumn foliage season is particularly popular, and reservations seem to be difficult to get, but I would definitely like to visit at that time next time.
