Hello hello! Hello! This is The Solo
Bumpkin Travels. Thistime, I’m staying at Fujizo Ryokan in
Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture, to experience retro Japan,
where hot spring therapy culture remains. This is my solo trip to soak in Japan’s deepest bath, which has a history of approximately 600 years. I hope you’ll be kind and supportive. Now that I’ve had my fill,
I’m heading to the hot springs. “Shirozaru no Yu” is the deepest natural
flowing rock bath in Japan. I was the first to arrive during the
women-only time! (Photography permission granted) The depth is approximately 1.25 meters
(4.1 feet deep), so deep that even an adult can get up to chest height
with the water, and it is said to be the deepest hot spring in Japan
where you can bathe standing up. It looks as if it was carved out of
natural rock, giving it a rustic, old-fashioned feel. The hot water that naturally gushes out
is drawn into the bathtub. Can you see the bumps around the center? The water temperature is slightly hot,
between 42 and 44°C (108 and 111°F). Be careful not to overexert yourself “Shirozaru no Yu” only has a bathtub and
no shower facilities, so we moved to “Katsura no Yu,” which is open
24 hours. Incidentally, cleansing lotion,
lotion, and a hair dryer are all provided. I took a hot spring bath four times
today. Good night 🌙 good morning… It’s currently 4am Through the empty lobby We arrived at “Shirogane no Yu” Ladies-only time is from 9pm to 6am Good! No one is here. I am only allowed to take photos when
there is no one there. Amenities such as cotton balls and cotton swabs are replenished
even in the early hours of the morning. Are there staff on hand in the early
hours? There are lotions for both men and women. This is a private bath from 15:00 to
21:00. ¥1,100 (USD 7.45) per hour It seems like you can rent it out with
your family and friends. Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and bar
soap All of them were installed except for the
White Monkey Bath. Yes, there was a lounge. Of course, close early in the
morning. Business hours are… 15:00~18:00 and 19:00~22:00 I don’t know where the door is… It’s a hidden room It’s getting lighter so I head back to
Katsura no Yu The recommended time to soak in the hot
spring is 5 minutes. The hot spring ingredients make you feel
hot easily. I’ve never really thought about it that
deeply until now. Katsura no Yu has an indoor bath and an
open-air bath. The open-air bath is along the river. It’s getting a lot brighter Relax and listen to the sound of the
river Breakfast is at 8:00 During my last hot spring treatment… Today is September 30th Cool mornings and evenings-long sleeves recommended. Speaking of Tokyo… It looks like it’s still hot I lay around waiting for breakfast Breakfast is served here When checking in, you can choose between
7:00 and 8:00. It’s served in a stacked bento box. Ta-dah! What’s in the bento box? Before that, miso soup and rice are
prepared. Ryokan experience: There’s a lot of rice
in the ohitsu lol I wonder if everyone is able
to eat it all. But it would be a waste to leave it… Healthy Salad with Potato Salad Salmon and salty pickles Even saltier rice accompaniments: The
Three Musketeers It’s boiled butterbur! Jelly from school lunch (nostalgic ✨) ITADAKIMASU! I ate a lot yesterday When you bathe in a hot spring, you
strangely get hungry. I don’t usually eat a lot of breakfast When I go on a trip, I pack as much as I
can You’ll regret it later lol Japanese morning= salmon Additional rice This is an experience that you might not
be able to have at the Toji-bu. I love kelp Sweet and salty perfect with rice! This one was on fire and it was bacon and
eggs. This is also a great food to go with
rice. I prefer soy sauce Look at this natto Isn’t it cute? The Milky Way and *Night on the Galactic
Railroad: A fairy tale about a train running through the starry sky. Miyazawa Kenji is depicted.
*Miyazawa Kenji: A writer from Iwate It called Hanamaki natto. I had a lot of trouble when I ate natto
on a Pacific ferry before. I’ll try adding mustard Finally added mustard to my natto! And add the sauce I successfully got my revenge lol Large chunks of natto It was delicious There were several women who seemed to be
traveling alone at the breakfast venue. Everyone was having fun. Most of them were elderly fathers and
mothers. There were some older ladies on a girls’
trip, which was heartwarming. Mandarin orange jelly dessert A staple of Japanese school lunches I feel like it was deeper than that… The wave of rising prices is reaching
places like this Thank you for the meal! Well, I’m sad to say goodbye, but shall I
go home? The weather is nice, so let’s take a
short walk outside before heading home. The accommodation fee was paid at the
time of booking online. I must pay the bathing tax and any
additional drinks. It seems to be crowded, so let’s wait a little. The building where I stayed this time is
made of wood and is old. Even while I was sleeping, I could hear
footsteps in the hallway I could hear the people in the next room
talking (and snoring lol), but if that doesn’t bother you, I
recommend here as the food is delicious! Use this time I decided to take a walk around the Toji-bu. I will move forward with courage It’s pretty dark even in the morning It has a unique old smell Is this the room? There is a second floor It looks bright Maybe the second floor is the guest room. I’ll try the challenge someday Payment is also completed My sneakers appeared from the back. Thank you for your help It still has a mysterious atmosphere From a building that makes you feel like
