Yunomine Onsen and Time-Honored Ryokann♨️| 湯の峰温泉と旅館あづまや【温泉一人旅】

I visited Yunomine Onsen in Wakayama. This time, I stayed for one night at a historic ryokan. In July, hydrangeas were still blooming in Yunomine Onsen. “Yunomine Onsen” and “Ryokan Azumaya” Yunomine Onsen is about a three-hour drive from Osaka,
reached by passing through the mountain valleys. On this day, the heat was severe,
and simply walking made sweat pour down like a waterfall. First, I headed to “Yuzutsu,” where the spring water gushes out. “Yunomine Onsen” is said to be the oldest hot spring in Japan,
with a history of over 1,800 years. The rows of traditional inns create a truly charming atmosphere. Several inns stand facing each other across the “Yunotani River.” This time, I stayed at the long-established “Azumaya Ryokan.”
I will introduce it later. I walked down the stairs to visit “Yuzutsu.” At “Yuzutsu,” spring water close to 90°C wells up.
If you place eggs or vegetables inside,
they will cook easily. I considered trying a hot spring egg,
but in the intense heat I had no appetite. Beyond “Yuzutsu,” I could see the World Heritage “Tsuboyu.” I took a walk along the “Yunotani River.” The pipes must be used to draw hot spring water into the inns. The pipes and rising steam created a scene,
almost like a steampunk world. Next, I made my way to “Tokoji Temple.” Yakouzan Tokoji Temple. Passing by the temple,
I headed to “Yumune Chaya.” I had planned to enjoy lunch at “Yumune Chaya,” but unfortunately… it was closed.
…Such a disappointment. At “Yumune Chaya” you can have meals,
and also purchase hot spring eggs made in the “Yuzutsu.” As it was extremely hot,
they kindly allowed me to rest under the eaves. Next, I proceeded to the World Heritage
“Tsuboyu.” To bathe in “Tsuboyu,”
you purchase a ticket at the office
opposite Tokoji Temple.
The fee was 800 yen. This is the waiting area for “Tsuboyu.”
If another guest is inside,
you wait here. Now, I would like to enter “Tsuboyu.” The World Heritage “Tsuboyu,”
where one can actually bathe. It is said that the color of the water changes seven times a day.
On this day, it was a milky white. As it was too hot to enter directly,
I adjusted the temperature with cold water. It was truly a wonderful bath. After leaving “Tsuboyu,”
I strolled leisurely through the town, when the weather suddenly changed, and a heavy rain began to fall. As filming became impossible,
I quickly returned to “Azumaya.” “Ryokan Azumaya”
is a historic inn dating back to the Edo period. This was my lodging for the night From the window, I could overlook the ryokan town. I love spending time in this spot of the inn,
though I wonder if it has a particular name. I sat by the window, gazing out at the hot spring town. I sat by the window, gazing out at the hot spring town. For some reason, seeing this box with yukata inside at a ryokan
always makes me feel excited. I enjoyed one of the four baths at Azumaya. It was so comfortable
that I found myself simply relaxing again. Back in my room,
I lay on the floor, staring at the ceiling, until it was time for dinner. A delightful meal prepared with local ingredients. Rice cooked in hot spring water
was gently flavored with a pale yellow color. Hot spring shabu-shabu. For one person,
it was such a luxurious dinner. As the sun set,
night quietly fell over the hot spring town. I went out for a short walk. I had cooled my lens too much,
and it fogged with condensation. It looked interesting,
so I continued filming as it was. Back at the inn, I sat again at my favorite spot by the window, watching the misted glass, looking up at the retro light,
quietly relaxing, and maintaining my lens.
Eventually, sleepiness set in, and I went to bed for the night. The next morning. Although the weather had not cleared,
I went out for an early walk. At dawn, Yunomine Onsen was completely empty. I admired the corner room of the historic “Kuraya Ryokan,”
where I hope to stay someday. Yunomine Onsen is located
along the Kumano Kodo “Nakahechi.” After working up a sweat on my walk,
I returned to the inn for another bath. The “Maki no Yubune.”
The fragrance of the wood and hot spring water
was deeply soothing. The gentle sound and steam of the flowing spring
brought a profound sense of peace. There was also an open-air bath. Naturally, I took a bath. Back in the room,
I enjoyed breakfast. Rice porridge made with hot spring water. Tofu cooked in hot spring soy milk Every dish was truly delicious,
with a comforting, gentle flavor. Afterward, I spent some time relaxing in the sunlight, before finally leaving the warm,
welcoming room. Thanks to the long-established “Azumaya Ryokan,”
I was able to spend a wonderful time.
Thank you very much. Upon departure,
I received a box of matches at the reception.
It brought back memories of the nostalgic Showa era. I will keep it as a memento. On my way home, I visited a diner I had always noticed. “Marushin Shokudo” It is located along Route 168 toward Totsukawa,
and I had been curious about it for some time. A retro-style eatery?such an atmosphere I truly love. This time, I ordered the “Yakiniku Set Meal.” The meat was thick, tender,
and exceptionally delicious. It was the best grilled meat I have had this year. I will certainly return again.
Thank you for the meal. Next time,
I will share a video of relaxing at the Funaya houses in Ine. I will certainly return again.
Thank you for the meal. Next time,
I will share a video of relaxing at the Funaya houses in Ine. I would be most grateful
if you watch again.
