越後駒ケ岳は新潟県随一の米どころ、魚沼地方のシンボル的存在です。中ノ岳、八海山とともに越後三山（魚沼三山）の一座に数えられ、地元では魚沼駒ヶ岳とも呼ばれています。標高に比して森林限界が低く、上部の尾根筋は大きな展望と高山植物が楽しめる登山道が続いています。
Echigo-Komagatake is a symbol of the Uonuma region, Niigata Prefecture’s leading rice-producing region. It is counted as one of the Echigo Sanzan (Uonuma Sanzan) along with Nakanodake and Hakkaisan, and is also known locally as Uonuma-Komagatake. The tree line is low compared to its altitude, and the upper ridge offers hiking trails where you can enjoy spectacular views and alpine plants.
