Japan Kanagawa 4K Walking Tour
Walking in front of Yamato Station in Kanagawa Prefecture Current location: Yamato City, Kanagawa Prefecture We are heading towards Yamato Station from the Atsugi base direction in the previous article. It’s a slightly fragrant street. Your subscription is the beginning of a journey. Let’s go to a new view. There are a lot of stores like this. It’s a Korean restaurant. It seems like most of the restaurants are run by Koreans. This building has been there for a long time. I wonder what it was like before the tracks went underground. Sumitomo Bank is moving here. Lots of snacks. A fashion thief? I think it used to be Yamato Crystal. From this point onwards the Korean atmosphere becomes more apparent. I guess it’s a remnant of the post-war occupation. It’s common in areas near military bases. Perhaps because of this construction, it became a red light district after the war. Ant trap This place was vacant last time, but now it’s a Lawson. There used to be an electronics store here. We have arrived at Toyokawa Inari. There used to be a lot of stray cats here, and high school girls would hang out and take their rest here. This is a branch temple of the Sokawaji Temple in Seya. I think I’ll stop by the Sokawaji Temple on my way to Sakuragaoka Station. This used to be a used CD store. Indian and Nepalese cuisine. Apparently most Indian restaurants in Japan are run by Nepalese. Yamato Station is 20 minutes to Yokohama Station, 25 minutes to Shin-Yokohama Station, and 45 minutes to Shinjuku Station. If you commute to the city center, it’s just barely affordable. The average rent for a single person is about 70,000 to 80,000 yen. The area in front of the station has been developed considerably and large apartment buildings are being built. There used to be a small market here. The kind that purposely collects old signs and turns them into objects Yamato City Cultural Creation Center Sirius comes into view. It seems to have a library and other things inside. I used to go to the old library north of Yamato Station a lot. Is it here now? There is a group of foreigners. Are they here for training or a tour? There it is: Yamato Tenmangu Shrine. It is currently located on the second floor of the facility. I’ve visited this place several times in the past when it was just a normal shrine, but I never imagined it would turn out like this. I’m sure the shrine’s owners made a lot of money from relocation costs and other expenses. It was originally the Atsugi Naval Air Group’s Sky Shrine, but was moved here at the end of the war. The slope is closed off. I guess it’s because thugs come here to skateboard. Barrier-free access That’s all for today. Thank you for watching.
