Hello everyone I am Terada Fufu, currently on a 2-night, 3-day trip to Tohoku Actually, last night I left Fujinomiya City in Shizuoka Prefecture and made my way all the way to Yamagata Prefecture I drove all night and worked hard to get here, but I finished eating ramen around 9 AM After running for a little over two hours from there, we have arrived at the 8th station of ‘Mount Gassan’ In fact, since I was traveling around Japan in Yamagata Prefecture, I think I was able to do some sightseeing at least in certain places This time, I haven’t been able to enjoy gourmet food either I just visited this place called Mount Yamagata Today, I’m staying in Yamagata for one night and planning to depart tomorrow, so I hope to share that experience Please make sure to watch until the end Thank you for your continued support this time as well This is the 8th station parking lot of Mount Gassan, which is very cool and super refreshing It seems like you can also ride the lift The period from the ski resort of Mount Gassan is probably during the summer I’m not sure if I can ride in the fall, though It seems that the lift can be used during the riding period I’ve never been to Mt. Gassan before There seem to be three famous mountains that represent ‘Past’, ‘Future’, and ‘Present’, and some people climb them as a pilgrimage I think Mount Gassan represents the ‘Past’ It’s not that I climb all the way to the top, though It seems that there is a shrine at the top of Mount Gassan It is said that there are quite a few climbers in the morning, and the parking lot is also filled Well, today is a weekday, so that might be a factor Is it around 12:30 now? I have this kind of information From here to the top of Mount Gassan I heard it takes about three hours to get there There is a shrine at the top of Mount Gassan I heard there’s a place called ‘Gassan Shrine’ Is this it? I don’t really know if this boardwalk exists because I’m not dressed for climbing, but I’m really going to enjoy nature by walking the shortcut course It’s the orange course It’s a bit cloudy today Still, the weather is quite nice today I’ll give it a try It’s really a wooden path, isn’t it? From here, Sui-chan (my beloved car) has been running a lot for the first time in a while and has done a great job I wonder if they’re saying ‘I’m tired’ here It’s cool on the far right It’s cool, but… It’s tough, the slope is quite steep It’s much easier to walk in the woods As expected, the scenery really feels like ‘I’ve come to a high mountain’ I feel like I’ve come to a high place Even just a little climb offers an amazing view Another location for Another Sky has been added It’s definitely a ‘Google Pixel’ It’s a really nice place It’s mid-September now, and while the plants are starting to turn yellow, it still feels like summer I wonder what it’s like? I’m glad I went I want to take two hours to return We are heading towards Tendō City Since then, I switched drivers for a bit I plan to go to Tendō City today, but I was thinking of stopping by the roadside station in Sagae City first I stopped by Sagae City Last time, it was cherry season, so I did see some cherries I was wondering, ‘What fruits are in season now?’ and since Yamagata is known as a fruit town, I didn’t know that Ami, who loves fruits, came to look for something So, I came here thinking, ‘I want to eat something tonight.’ It’s spacious, I didn’t know it was this big We’ve been here once before, right? Yes, we have I think I bought souvenirs like cherry wine to take home, oh, that’s right Wow, we’re visiting some nostalgic places, aren’t we? Nostalgic But still, I think the scenery is really nice, especially since it’s the season for good rice There were many places where the rice ears were yellow It was just around the time for rice harvesting, so it feels comforting, doesn’t it? That’s nice Thank you for driving Thank you for your hard work I bought gelato It’s rice and cherries There are grains of rice in it Delicious!! It’s crunchy Cherry The sweetness of the gentle cherries is real, it feels gentle There’s a bit of tartness, and it’s delicious I like delicious rice that isn’t unpleasantly sweet, especially This place is really, after all, elegantly designed, and it’s been a while since I last came here I vividly remembered thinking, ‘Oh, it was like this!’ Looking at it again, there was quite a variety and it was fun As for the fruits, there were indeed various kinds It wasn’t as overwhelming as the cherry blossom season, so we happened to be there during the cherry picking part-time job season, and when we came to buy souvenirs other than cherries, there was a huge line for cherries There were also a ton of customers Was it around June? I would like to go eat ‘Suisha Nama Soba’ It’s chicken Chinese food After trying various dishes, I can definitely say that ‘chicken Chinese food is the best.’ It left a very strong impression on us as chicken Chinese food I really don’t know if I would enjoy it again Honestly, I can’t say for sure if I’d think ‘it’s still delicious’ Because it was that feeling back then So, I’ll wait a little longer before eating again I’m looking forward to the chicken ramen at ‘Suisha no Namasoba’ There are many places I want to return to, but I think I’ll choose the ones I most want to visit Last time, I was seriously eating a lot Regarding Tohoku, It was normal to have ‘four to five meals a day.’ I was eating ramen in Yamagata too It was really Yonezawa beef and the Senbon dango from the Mogami River Today, I actually wanted to go buy some warabi mochi I wanted to eat the ‘Koshikakean’s warabi mochi’ again, but it was just my luck that it was closed This time of day is beautiful So, I plan to have a meal, take a dip in the hot springs, and then visit the roadside station If you’re coming to Yamagata, or rather, if you’re coming to Tohoku, you absolutely can’t miss the hot springs I came here really looking forward to it We will arrive shortly It’s on the back side, right? This is it, right here There is a multi-story parking lot on the back side It doesn’t seem like there are many people around Let’s eat! Well, I wonder how it is The smell is already amazing This gentle, indescribable broth has a wonderful aroma I’m feeling excited It’s a medium-thick curly noodle Let’s eat It’s really delicious It’s really delicious, isn’t it? As expected from something called ‘Torichuka’ When you eat it again, it really feels more like ‘chicken soba’ than ramen, it’s delicious This soup is tasty, it’s gentle and quite light It’s nice that it has chopped green onions and mitsuba in it again Is it okay with Mitsuba? This one Right, are they using the broth from Mitsuba soba? Is that why it has this kind of flavor? It’s different from regular ramen The taste of salt and pepper is also quite pronounced It’s definitely delicious, I knew it wouldn’t be a mistake, the taste was really popular when we came last time, there were a lot of people It felt like people were coming and going constantly Today, I happened to come around 5 PM, and there were few customers, so it’s quite empty The viewers who watched our video sent me a photo from when they came to this bird chuka place via DM, and it was really crowded at that time too, so I realized it’s a super popular restaurant After all, it’s the original bird chuka, and it seems to have won national awards It’s the ‘National Local Noodle Semi-Grand Prix’, right? The chicken broth and the chicken itself are so tender, it’s different from the usual chashu at regular ramen shops It’s a completely different experience from that feeling I was taught about this place’s chicken ramen by a local while I was working part-time If I hadn’t gone to that part-time job, I would have never known about it I think I would have ended up not knowing about it For those who are not fond of rich flavors, this place recommended by the person over there is really great You can eat it at night without feeling guilty I wish there was a place like this nearby Delicious In the end, I couldn’t eat the soba again, and the second time has also come to an end I said, ‘Next time I come, I want to try soba too,’ but I ended up choosing this one When I drink the soup, the salt and pepper are definitely strong I feel like I didn’t feel anything before Maybe there was a bit too much salt and pepper? It seems like the salt and pepper are enhancing a slightly sweet soup Generally, this kind of dish has chicken in it It’s kind of like ‘chicken soba’, right? Yamagata’s cold meat soba is also delicious If only I had one more day, I could properly go eat soba, especially cold meat soba Thank you for the meal It was really delicious after all As you can see right in front of you, this ‘Waterwheel Fresh Soba’ has plenty of parking spaces There is also a parking garage over there There is a ‘Roadside Station Tendo Onsen’ right next to this I’ve made a lot of use of this, haven’t I? This area is known as a shogi town, so there are quite a few shogi-related things around They even sell shogi souvenirs here Of course, it’s a roadside station that sells a lot of cherries, so I think that’s fun too It’s true that ‘Waterwheel Fresh Soba’ was delicious, but… Well, today I feel like both of us have a different impression than before I felt like the salt and pepper were quite strong That’s right Well, the taste of salt and pepper hit me first It used to be a bit sweeter I could really feel it quite strongly In that sense, it probably matched our taste as people from Kyushu really well, but this time it’s not exactly sweet; it has a proper sweetness that I thought was really delicious It felt like there were a bit fewer today, but it was delicious The feeling of eating it as ‘ramen’ is… I think it’s different this time after eating it That’s right, it’s not ramen It’s like a genre called ‘bird Chinese’ I think this is probably my current impression after having tried various hearty ramen I had delicious ramen this morning, so I’m satisfied for now Today, I had breakfast and had a proper lunch… I haven’t eaten anything or I haven’t eaten But I was already really hungry I might not be able to eat as much as I used to because I’ve become a bit of a light eater That’s a good thing Well, since we’ve entered our 30s, both of us are definitely not kids anymore I just ate too much, that’s all It’s about normal now Well then, after this today, Since there’s an Aeon Mall in Tendō City, I’ll do some shopping there and buy things for tonight’s drinks There’s one more place; this is a hot spring I visited just once I want to relax at a hot spring called ‘Yuu Cherry’ It’s seriously cheap, you know Moreover, the fact that it’s our favorite hot spring makes it incredibly appealing I’ve returned to Sagae City and came to the hot springs It’s a place called ‘Sakage Hanazaka Onsen Yū-Cheri’ It was a place where you could enter three types of hot springs There’s an outdoor open-air bath with cherry blossom ornaments, and it’s really impressive that this is where the hot spring is This is it Nostalgic, I remember The hotel is attached next to it Well then, let’s take our time to relax I think I’ll enjoy myself for about an hour and a half Please take your time and enjoy your stay Oh, that’s nice with the cherry blossoms It’s inside the car Today, I would like to drink the alcohol I bought at Aeon It was featured in Tohoku I bought a beer called ‘Juicy Brew’ from Suntory, so I decided to give it a try I would like to reflect on my approximately 1.5 days in Yamagata while enjoying this Cheers! I bought this because it’s a Tohoku exclusive Haa Oh, delicious Fresh and fruity, easy to drink It’s different from the dry beer I usually drink It’s really cold in a different way Delicious As expected, the hot spring I visited today was really nice upon revisiting, and there were three types available Although it doesn’t specify the water quality, they are called ‘New Beautiful Skin Hot Spring’, ‘Health Hot Spring’, and ‘Warming Hot Spring’ ‘Beautiful Skin Hot Spring’ was quite salty It must have been a chloride spring ‘Kenko no Yu’ is a simple hot spring ‘Atatamarino Yu’ is probably an iron-rich spring It did have a metallic smell I think that’s probably not the case, but… Since all of those are the source, it felt really good It was really great It’s one of the top five hot springs in Japan, and since there’s a hotel attached, there were people wearing yukata as well It’s an amazing hot spring My skin is super smooth It’s nice to feel the cool air outside after taking a bath I thought to myself, ‘As expected of Yamagata Prefecture.’ So it didn’t go up by 350 yen, did it? Moreover, it’s really kind that even non-locals can get that price Yeah, that’s really true Speaking of Yamagata, I bought the Dutch rice crackers with plum and kelp flavor It felt really good, and I thought to myself how truly happy I am It’s really great that we can go to the hot springs after all Super great For us, who love it so much, an environment with hot springs is the best I thought Yamagata Prefecture is really attractive Today, I took a short nap at the roadside station early in the morning I came to the ‘Roadside Station Zao’, In the end, the Zao Onsen is also a strong acidic spring, It’s an acidic hot spring, and I went in for a day trip If you want to enter, it feels like you can do so even nearby This was delicious Even someone who doesn’t like it would find it delicious, right? It’s the best! I just got out of the hot spring It really wakes you up, doesn’t it? It wakes you up, doesn’t it? This hot spring has two types of sources These two types are ‘simple hot spring’ and ‘sodium chloride spring.’ Yesterday’s ‘Yuu-Cheri’ felt like it had one more added to that It was a beautiful skin hot spring, so I wonder what the water quality was like?
