[40s gay couple Yuu and Yasu: A detour to Yaizu, Shizuoka on the way back from Nagoya] [Yasu] So, we’re back home from Nagoya. [Yasu] But… [Yasu] We stopped by Yaizu on the way back, but Yuu’s mic was acting up, so we didn’t get any audio. [Yuu] All because of the mic!! (dramatic) [Yuu] The mic’s to blame!! Haha! (laughs) [Yasu] My mic was totally fine, though. [Yuu] I wonder why… totally not my fault. (playing dumb) [Yasu] So, we’ll do this one by adding commentary over the footage. [Yuu] Narrating’s tough, so let’s just riff and poke fun instead. (laughs) [Yasu] Doing it properly is too much work. (too lazy for that, haha) [Yasu] We’ll keep it super chill, as always. [Yuu] Here we go! [Yuu] Yaizu’s… [Yuu & Yasu] Sawayaka, a famous local restaurant for grilled meat patties! (in unison) [Yasu] We went to eat their famous grilled meat patties. [Yuu] The Gotemba branch has, what, a 440-minute wait right now? [Yuu] It’s inside an outlet mall, so it’s always packed. [Yasu] Eight hours?! You’d wait all day and end up with dinner. (laughs) [Yuu] It’s such a popular spot, so stores near Tokyo or Nagoya are always crowded. [Yuu] But we found online that the ones in central Shizuoka are less busy! [Yuu] So, here we are at the Yaizu branch today!! [Yuu] It’s right on our way back from Nagoya, too. [Yuu] Still, we got here before opening and were fourth in line. (super popular) [Yuu] The staff cut the meat patty right in front of us. [Yasu] They were like personal servers, sticking with us. [Yasu] And they cut and grilled it right there. [Yuu] They even poured the sauce for us! [Yasu] They told us exactly when the sauce would splatter. (laughs) [Yuu] Like, “Now’s your chance to film!” They guided us and everything. (laughs) [Yuu] Super user-friendly, right? (laughs) [Yasu] That sizzling sound when they grilled the meat patty was amazing. [Yuu] We got that sound perfectly, so no worries! (laughs) [Yuu] Thanks to Yasu’s mic. (laughs) [Yuu] By the way, I went with the onion sauce… [Yasu] And I picked the demi-glace sauce. [Yasu] You could choose between the two. [Yuu] I think the onion sauce is their recommendation. (kinda fuzzy on that) [Yasu] Really? I just wanted to try both. [Yuu] I tried both, and… [Yuu] I’m glad I went with the onion sauce! (laughs) [Yasu] The demi-glace was sweet and tasty, though. [Yuu] Well, you’re a sweet-tooth, Yasu. (laughs) [Yuu] Anyway, those meat patties were delicious! [Yasu] Yeah, so good!! [Yasu] Totally! Their “hearty hamburger patty” lives up to its name—it’s so satisfying! [Yuu] Kinda like a big guy’s fist, right? [Yuu] As big as a pro athlete’s fist, maybe? (laughs) [Yasu] Pretty huge, huh? (laughs) [Yasu] Super meaty! [Yuu] Juicy and delicious! [Yuu] After enjoying the hearty hamburger patty, we headed to the Yaizu Fish Center. [Yuu] Meat and fish! We’re so greedy! (laughs) [Yasu] Talk about greedy! (laughs) [Yuu] It didn’t show much in the footage, but… [Yuu] There were places in the market to eat kaisendon and sushi, too. [Yuu] And at a fish market, the first thing we bought was… mushrooms! (laughs) [Yasu] Shiitake, of all things! (laughs) [Yuu] But they were delicious once we grilled them. [Yuu] They were huge, almost fist-sized. [Yasu] Big fists, at that. [Yuu] Maybe kid-sized fists? Or ours? (laughs) [Yasu] Yeah, about that! [Yuu] We walked around the market, debating what to buy, but there was so much tuna. [Yasu] Different shops had all kinds of cuts. [Yuu] We got some tuna for sashimi. [Yasu] A big one! [Yuu] The shop guy said, “It’s not the prettiest, but great for home prep.” [Yuu] So, I’ll let my dad handle it! (laughs) [Yuu] Well, it’s a gift for my dad, so… (laughs) [Yuu] A gift, but we had him prep it and ate it together! (laughs) [Yasu] Thanks to him! [Yasu] He cut it thick, so it was super satisfying and delicious. [Yuu] Wasn’t it a pain to cut, though? (laughs) [Yasu] Not on purpose, right? (laughs) [Yuu] We got some sea urchin too, and they gave us a 300-yen discount on the combo. [Yasu] Yeah, they just threw in a discount! [Yuu] Now that I think about it, maybe we could’ve sweet-talked a bigger discount. (laughs) [Yasu] Should’ve tried, huh? (laughs) [Yuu] We also bought some silver salmon. [Yuu] This time, it’s really a gift for my dad. (laughs) [Yasu] Actually for him, right? (laughs) [Yuu] No ulterior motives! (laughs) [Yuu] We gave it to him, but haven’t heard back yet, so who knows if he ate it. (laughs) [Yasu] It looked thick and tasty, though. [Yuu] By the way, you might faintly hear it, but a fire alarm was going off. [Yasu] Oh yeah, it started blaring toward the end. [Yuu] Totally freaked us out! [Yasu] Freaked us out, but nobody else reacted. (laughs) [Yuu] Everyone just kept shopping or selling like nothing was up. (us too) [Yuu] Later, they announced it was all fine. [Yasu] Took them a while to say that, though. (laughs) [Yuu] That’s when I thought my mic might’ve messed up, but… [Yuu] Turns out it was busted from the start. (laughs) [Yuu] In the end… [Yuu] Mushrooms, tuna, sea urchin, and silver salmon for 4,500 yen total! [Yuu] I think we got a pretty good deal. [Yasu] They gave us a discount, too. [Yasu] They just slashed the price without us saying anything. (laughs) [Yuu] Kinda regret not sweet-talking a bigger discount, though… [Yuu] Let’s do better on our next trip! (laughs) [Yasu] That’s the spirit! (laughs)
