I love soba. So I went looking for it. On a very quiet street, there was a house with an old sign. It’s the Ishimame (いし豆) soba restaurant. I arrived at 11:30 a.m., and there were already 7 cars waiting. They gave us something like a pager. A couple runs the place, and they let impatient customers leave. We waited in the car for almost an hour. Finally, we were called in. It’s small, but clean and calm. Here’s the simple menu. The sobagaki I wanted to try was sold out. It was worth the wait.
