【島根】穴場スポット10選とかにありそうな出雲1泊2日旅後編!出雲大社に行く前にすることは稲佐の浜だけじゃない!江戸の空気が今も残る木綿街道と、癒しの昭和レトロ喫茶店が良すぎた
Good morning. Day 2 of our trip to Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture. Today, I’ll introduce the town between Izumo Grand Shrine and Izumo Airport. If you love Edo-period streetscapes, you’ll definitely want to visit right away. Let’s dive right into the second half of this one-night, two-day trip. In Izumo City, eastern Shimane Prefecture, lies a town that will pique your intellectual curiosity. It would be a shame to end your visit at Izumo Grand Shrine alone. But first, breakfast. A pure white building appears on the right. This is the coffee shop we visited. Its exterior alone is captivating. Near Lake Shinsei. Established in 1973. It was a shop that evoked Showa-era Japan. Parking for 30 cars, cash only. This time, we visited in September. The exterior is nice, but inside… Inside is even more wonderful It’s fun just sitting here This spaghetti has been our most popular dish since we opened. Our coffee is also a cup made with care. This is what I came for today. Sorry to keep you waiting. I was waiting for the orange juice. Morning set, coming right up. Excuse me, I’ll take a seat up front. Sorry to keep you waiting. Please take your time. Fluffy toast, not overcooked. A nostalgic salad and scrambled eggs It felt like something I’d eaten somewhere long ago. It reminded me of eating in big chairs during family outings. It was a wonderful cafe that made me feel like I’d slipped back in time It was delicious. A wonderful breakfast. Hotel breakfasts are great too, of course, but I also recommend breakfast at a local coffee shop. This channel documents our road trip through Western Japan. If you’re interested or want to support us, please hit the like button and subscribe. It suddenly started raining. Shimane is a region with heavy rainfall throughout the year. Forget your lunch box, but never forget your umbrella. …is a saying in Shimane. That’s why we get delicious rice. That’s why we get delicious sake. Because we have the sea, the fish are delicious too. We have the largest clam harvest in Japan. We have hot springs too. I feel like everything Japanese people love is right here. We’ve arrived at the Izumo Cultural Heritage Museum. It’s a museum with a quiet garden and a tea room. If there’s food, they must be hungry, right? Unfortunately, this area was reserved, so we headed further in. There was a tea room, so even though I wasn’t sure, I went inside. Since I know absolutely nothing about tea ceremony, all I could do was bow, squint my eyes, and gaze at the garden. lol It’s very quiet. You can enter without a reservation. You can almost hear wine lovers saying, “We’d go even if you didn’t tell us!” That’s what it sounds like. Shimane wines often have a fruity aroma and a refreshing, light mouthfeel. I had these croquettes last time I came too, and they’re really delicious because they use wine. Heading east from the winery. Today’s main destination: the Cotton Road. During the Edo period, this was a bustling road connecting Matsue to Izumo Grand Shrine Shops like sake breweries and soy sauce breweries, some over 100 years old, still remain here. These are the five types of soy sauce. Re-brewed soy sauce is beloved by people from Izumo to northern Kyushu. It’s not as sweet as Kyushu soy sauce, but it adds sweetness and thickness. There’s a culture of drizzling it sparingly over tofu, pickles, and such. This soy sauce is used in the dipping sauce for Izumo soba noodles. It also pairs well with cashew ice cream. While the exteriors may appear simple at first glance, many houses feature meticulous attention to timber and facades, reflecting the prosperity of the era. I like walking while imagining how lively it must have been back then. Mostly spicy flavors Any choice you make is the right one If you’re visiting Izumo Grand Shrine, please visit this shrine too Umi Shrine It’s famous as a shrine for severing ties. It is revered as a deity that severs misfortune and bad relationships. It purifies and severs bad relationships and unnecessary ties, which is considered severing ties. Therefore, rest assured that it won’t sever good relationships. Be healed on the Cotton Road, sever misfortune and bad connections at this shrine, then visit Izumo Grand Shrine for matchmaking. That will be most effective for you. It’s a 20-minute drive from Izumo Taisha. The Cotton Road isn’t wide. Allow about an hour and a half for photography and leisurely walking. It’s a precious road where the old townscape remains preserved. If you’re going to Izumo Taisha, this place is recommended. See? Doesn’t it make you want to go? Next, I’ll introduce a museum featuring a house relocated from the Cotton Road. Honkisaki, which also served as lodging for the Matsue feudal lord. The lord’s guest room and garden have been relocated here. Feel the beauty of Japan The paid exhibition hall was under construction and closed Everything else is free. Enjoy the rooms and Japanese garden seen by the feudal lord of that era, imagining yourself as the lord. The Cotton Road is also recommended here. There are so many places to go, it’s tough. What a beautiful blue sky. The Izumo Plain spread out before us, formed from sediment carried by the Hii River. This scenery is incredibly beautiful. The Yamata no Orochi from mythology appears in this river. It was a river prone to frequent flooding. Perhaps the Yamata no Orochi was actually this river. That’s what I believe. When you come to Izumo City, it’s fun to think about the legend of the Hii River and the giant serpent. The areas upstream like Kunisaki City and Okuizumo are places I’d like to visit someday. Every time I go somewhere, at least two more places I want to visit pop up. It never ends! Roadside Station Yunokawa 358 bronze swords at the Izumo Historical Museum next to Izumo Grand Shrine. These were discovered in Hikawa Town. 150 yen There is a hot spring where a beautiful princess bathed during her travels and became even more beautiful. Yunokawa Onsen is a hot spring that makes you beautiful. I want to visit Yunokawa Hot Springs someday. I came seeking “Yamata no Orochi,” an ultra-dry sake. When this video airs, “Kamiarizuki” (the month when the gods gather) will soon arrive. We pray for your safety and trouble-free travels. We’d be thrilled if our previous and current videos inspire you to visit more places. From the San’in Expressway to the Matsue Expressway. We’re heading back slowly. Straight ahead is Onomichi I’d like to visit Onomichi again after so long I hadn’t eaten anything besides breakfast… It happens (?) How was your trip to Izumo City? No matter how many times I visit, I always discover something new. It’s a place that makes me think, “This is fun, I want to go back.” The breathtaking views, the delicious food, exploring history—it was the best time. Wishing you all a wonderful journey too. Well then, let’s meet again on the next journey. See you later.
