With over 800 years of history, Bizen ware (備前焼) comes from one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns(日本六古窯), and it’s still a timeless icon of Japanese pottery and wabi-sabi aesthetics.
Renowned for its unglazed firing technique (無釉焼締め), Bizen ware is crafted from local clay with low refractory strength, forming naturally watertight, one-of-a-kind pieces after up to 14 days of high-temperature firing.
The flame, pine ash, and minerals merge to create organic colours and textures that can never be replicated.🔥
In this video, we come to the home of Bizen ware — Bizen City, Okayama, Japan.
Here, we meet artisans who reveal the spirit behind their craft, and explore those places where visitors can experience Japan’s living pottery culture, from workshops and elegant teahouses, from modern and insta-style café to local shrine.🫖🏯
🎥✨Follow our lens and discover the timeless beauty of Bizen ware.
📅 On October 18–19, 2025, Bizen City will host the annual Bizen Ware Festival(備前焼まつり), featuring artisan showcases, local markets, and hands-on pottery experiences.
Don’t miss this chance to witness the living heritage of Japan’s oldest pottery tradition!

2025.Oct 18–19: Don’t miss the Bizen Ware Festival (備前焼まつり) near Imbe Station (伊部駅)🫖👘🎉
このシリーズ日本人の僕にとってすら、新しい発見が沢山あります。備前焼そのものと、制圧しない、余計な力を入れない精神性の美しさも感じました😊
