Speaking of the event in Tokyo’s autumn, this is it after all. Tokyo Yosakoy dancing festival held by Tossima City Ku this time derivoy which began to be held in 2000 as one content of Fukuro Matsuri festival which is held as a community festival for Toshima citizens every autumn. At Furomatri citizens carries the magnificent portable shrine Mikoshi with a hope that this town will become a vibbrant city, a fun place and a place where everybody can walk safely. Now regarding Yosakoi dancing, the birthplace was Kochi Prefecture in 1954 when rebuilding the city after the World War II by mainly Coch CCI, Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The word Yosakoy means please come at night as a dialect of Tossa renamed to Kochi. The dancing with Naruko, a customate like object in hand, has been popular and has spread all over Japan. In 1992, Sappur city of Hokkaido introduced their original Yosakoy which makes the Kochi Yosakoy and their local folk song. The festival is now very famous as Yosakuy Soran Festival. In that way, Yosakuy has been evolved freely as dancing event Japan. Well, please enjoy 2025 Tokyo Yosakoy, the free, present, and energetic dancing. It’s a large scale project by 110 dancing teams, 5,000 dancers and the city.
