日本の重要伝統的建造物群保存地区である赤沢宿。
身延山と七面山を結ぶ参道の宿場町でした。
最盛期には9軒もの旅籠がありました。
就寝は一人一畳しかないほどの繁盛ぶりでした。
やがて便利な迂回路の開通で客足が激減しました。
旅籠は喫茶店や資料館に変わりました。
現在も美しい家並みや石畳が残っています。
当時の風情を今も感じ取れる貴重な場所です。
季節ごとの景色を見たいと思わせてくれます。
桜、紅葉の時期に訪れたいと感じました。
