驚愕の絶景！北海道の隠れた宝石スポットを発見！ドローン空撮で魅了｜朝日ヶ丘公園・オーヴェールの丘・美幌峠・神の子池
This is the third episode of the Hokkaido series. 1. Ozora Town – The Nameless Tree / 오조라정 무명의 나무 A small tree without a name, standing in Ozora Town, Hokkaido. Although not known as a tourist attraction, its solitary presence is impressive. As the seasons change, the angle of light completely alters its appearance, making it an ideal subject for photographers and nature observers. Among local residents, it is sometimes called the “small guardian tree of the town,” especially beautiful in the snowy winter scenery. 2. Ozora Town – Asahigaoka Park / 오조라정 아사히가오카 공원 Next is Asahigaoka Park. The rural scenery of Ozora Town and the distant mountains seen from here are like a miniature Hokkaido. Especially at sunrise, a fantastic view unfolds as mist and light weave together. The gradation of light wraps around the hills, highlighting the natural colors. 3. Ozora Town – Auvers Hill / 오조라정 오베르의 언덕 As the name suggests, this hill evokes the landscape of the Auvers region in France. It has been used as a filming location for movies and commercials. Akira Kurosawa’s film “Dreams” shot its wheat field scene here, and signs marking filming spots can be found throughout the area. Because of the vast expanse, the scenery changes greatly depending on the light and wind. Each season brings different colors—spring with green sprouts of wheat, summer in deep green, and autumn turning golden. The fields and windbreak forests here are also magnificent. The elderly landowner and farmer is a very kind person. Drone filming happens frequently here, and he even shared stories about Kurosawa’s movie. One wonders how much harvest can be gathered from such vast farmland. Nowadays, modern mechanized farming is the norm, but it is hard to believe that in the past, people worked the fields by hand. Now we head to the next point. I drive about 400 km every day—unthinkable in Tokyo life. One of Hokkaido’s most spectacular spots: Lake Kussharo and Bihoro Pass. Bihoro Pass, located in eastern Hokkaido, is a viewpoint about 500 meters above sea level overlooking Lake Kussharo. It is especially maintained as “Gurutto Panorama Bihoro Pass,” with a large parking area and observatory. From Bihoro Pass, you can enjoy the magnificent scenery unique to a caldera lake. The shimmering lake surface and harmony with surrounding mountains offer different expressions in each season. When the lake is bathed in morning mist or evening light, the view is breathtaking. Since the Edo period, this scenery has captivated travelers and explorers, and it also appears in Ainu cultural traditions. Lake Kussharo, located in Teshikaga Town, Hokkaido, is a caldera lake with a surface area of 79.54 km². The roadside station “Gurutto Panorama Bihoro Pass” serves as a base, with observation decks and tourist information. It is a point where you can capture fantastic images. It is Japan’s sixth-largest lake and is also known as a freshwater lake that completely freezes over. When frozen, cracks form in the ice, creating a phenomenon called “Omiwatari.” This occurs due to expansion and contraction of the ice, producing a mystical landscape. 5. Kiyosato Town – Kaminoko Pond / 키요사토정 카미노코이케 Kaminoko Pond is a small pond in Kiyosato Town, Hokkaido. Locally, it is called “the pond where the child of God dwells.” Like the famous Blue Pond in Biei, it was once difficult to obtain permission for drone filming. Fed by underground water from Lake Mashu, this 5-meter-deep pond maintains a water temperature of 8°C throughout the year. It is famous for its remarkable clarity, with sunken trees preserved without rotting. In the clear blue water, these fallen trees appear almost like fossils, captivating visitors. The pond is also home to Dolly Varden trout with red spots, adding to its charm. The blue water surface contrasted beautifully with the green forest around it. This third Hokkaido journey allowed me to experience nature, history, and the behind-the-scenes of films and commercials. I would be very happy if you could leave a comment.
