Sightseeing in Kumamoto Prefecture Part 6 – Aso/Kumamoto Area Edition – August 10-12, 2024 We return to Nurse Power Arena (Kumamoto City General Gymnasium/Youth Hall). We move forward. We’re leaving. (12:25) We head toward Kengun, Higashi Ward, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture. We’ve arrived at the Zoological and Botanical Gardens (Kumamoto City). The Chopper statue is here. The parking lot is spacious. This is the parking lot entrance. Parking fee is 200 yen. Just Chopper? It seems like there are a lot of people who just want to see Chopper, like us. We were guided to the nearest parking spot. There are quite a few people touring the statues like us. We’ve arrived at the Zoological and Botanical Gardens (Kumamoto City). (12:30 PM) ~ Zoo and Botanical Garden (Kumamoto City) “Chopper Statue” ~ We arrived at the “Chopper Statue.” This statue is also of high quality. We went to the cute entrance to the zoo to receive a commemorative card. It seems you can also purchase “figures. ” Chopper seems to be working hard as a veterinarian here. We received a commemorative card. New and old “figures” are on sale. (Cute) The “figures” are so cute that my husband and I are having trouble deciding which one to buy. (8th photo) It seems they are looking for supporters for the “100th Anniversary of the Zoo’s Opening.” Due to time constraints, we were unable to enter, but the building is cute and the zoo has a nice atmosphere. We moved on. We set off. (12:25 PM) *Most people were using the parking lot, but some people were parked on the road along the premises instead. It would be better if they did so without causing any inconvenience. We had lunch before heading to our next destination. We arrived at Udon West (Nakanose branch). (Looks delicious!) It was delicious. I’m full now. Thank you for the meal. We move on. We’re leaving. (13:30) Next, we head to Fureai Hiroba (Mifune Town). Thank goodness. We went inside. There was “Brook.” (A little scary.) This place is also known as “Dinosaur Park,” so they sell “dinosaur” and “One Piece” merchandise and souvenirs. My wife got a “souvenir card.” There were quite a few people inside the shop. We went outside. We received a “souvenir card.” (9th photo) Next, we headed to “Uto Marina” to see “Jinbe.” It’s a bit of a distance, but we’ll do our best. We moved on. We set off . (2:10 PM) We headed toward “Shimoamida-cho, Uto City, Kumamoto Prefecture.” We made a U-turn because we were going in the opposite direction. We could see “Costco” on our right. There were an incredible number of cars. It resembled the scenery along the local “Onga River.” We could see the “Shinkansen.” We’ve reached Midorikawa Bridge. We’ve been riding for quite a while. We’re almost at Uto City. The Ariake Sea is on the right. My husband and I are complaining that Jinbe is so far away. We thought we’d have plenty of time with two nights and three days, but we’re pressed for time. We’re almost at the roadside station (Uto Marina). Our destination is Jinbe, the last of our group (the 10th person). We’ve arrived at the roadside station (Uto Marina ). (3:00 PM) ~ Jinbe Statue at Uto Marina ~ This is the One Piece (Jinbe) corner. We can’t find it anywhere. Hmm. Where is it? We asked the shop staff, and they said the statue isn’t here.ぁ … The tide is low, creating a strange scene. We move on. We set off. (3:45 PM) I recovered somewhat with the ice cream and cold drinks. We head to Sumiyoshi Coast Park. We’re almost there (Uto City). The Jinbei statue is here. We’ve arrived. There are quite a lot of cars. It seems to be a popular tourist spot. We’ve arrived at Sumiyoshi Coast Park (Uto City). (3:50 PM) ~ Jinbei Statue at Sumiyoshi Coast Park (Uto City) ~ We head towards the coast. This appears to be Nagabeta Kaishoro. It’s a view we often see on TV and in magazines. We move on. Next, we head to the Jinbei statue. We ‘ve arrived at the Jinbei statue. It comes into view. It’s huge! (My wife looks tiny.) This statue is also of high quality, and quite large. It has an overwhelming sense of weight among all 10 statues. (It’s the biggest one) A view from behind. *It’s hard to tell from the screen, but it’s big and impressive. Let’s take a closer look at Nagabeta Seabed Road. It’s a beautiful view, so let’s go a little further. The tide is starting to come in a little. The ground below is quite slippery. (*Caution required) The ground was slippery and I nearly slipped and fell several times. Thinking about it calmly, it seems like the tide is going out judging from how wet the ground is.
