ふらっと出かけた場所を紹介しようと思います。
2023年1月に岐阜県七宗町にある「道の駅 ロック・ガーデンひちそう & 日本最古の石博物館」に行きました。
・道の駅 ロック・ガーデンひちそう
下呂温泉に向かう人や、納古山の登山者が多く訪れ、ドライブやツーリングの寄り道場所として利用する人が多い。
お土産商品として、リピーター多数・1番人気の「五えもんくんせいたまご」や、周辺の川で獲れた鮎を使った鮎の甘露煮など、七宗やその周辺で獲れた野菜をとても安く購入することができます。
日本最古の石が展示されている「日本最古の石博物館」に隣接し、道の駅裏手にある展望台からは飛水峡の絶景が望めます。
営業時間：9：00～17：00（平日）
9：00～17：30（土・日・祝）
定休日：木曜日（月により変動あり）
年末年始（12月31日～1月1日）
・日本最古の石博物館
「日本最古の石博物館」には20億年前の片麻岩をはじめ、津和野町から贈られた「日本最古の石」や「地球最古の石」、「ストロマトライト」など地球の誕生から現在に至るまでの46億年の歴史がわかる資料が展示されています。
開館時間：午前9時～午後4時30分（入館は午後4時まで）
※2月は午前10時～午後３時
休館日：木曜日（祝日・振替休日の場合は開館）
国民の祝日・振替休日の翌日
年末年始(12月28日～１月３日)
入館料：小中学生 100円、高校生・70歳以上 200円
一般 300円、 未就学児 無料
I’d like to introduce some places I happened to visit.
In January 2023, I visited the “Roadside Station Rock Garden Hichiso & Japan’s Oldest Stone Museum” in Hichiso Town, Gifu Prefecture.
・Roadside Station Rock Garden Hichiso
Many people headed to Gero Onsen and hikers of Mount Nako visit this station, making it a popular detour during drives and tours.
As souvenirs, you can purchase the highly popular “Goemon Smoked Eggs,” a popular dish with many repeat customers, as well as sweet and sour sweetfish caught in the surrounding rivers. You can also purchase vegetables harvested in Hichiso and the surrounding area at very reasonable prices.
Adjacent to the “Japan’s Oldest Stone Museum,” which displays Japan’s oldest rocks, the observation deck behind the roadside station offers a spectacular view of Hisuikyo Gorge.

– Japan’s Oldest Stone Museum
The “Japan’s Oldest Stone Museum” displays artifacts that reveal the 4.6 billion years of history of the Earth, from its birth to the present, including 2 billion-year-old gneiss, the “oldest stone in Japan,” and the “oldest stone on Earth,” all donated by Tsuwano Town, as well as stromatolites.
Opening Hours: 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM (last entry at 4:00 PM)
*10:00 AM – 3:00 PM in February
Closed: Thursdays (open on national holidays and substitute holidays)

New Year’s Holidays (December 28th – January 3rd)
Admission Fee: Elementary and Junior High School Students: 100 yen, High School Students and Those 70 and Over: 200 yen
