【夫婦旅】伊東温泉で夫婦まったり旅|青山やまと宿泊記|伊東の美食を堪能|混雑!大室山

Hello, I’m heading to Ito in Shizuoka Prefecture on the Odoriko limited express train. The Odoriko takes you from Shinjuku to Ito in around 1 hour and 50 minutes without changing trains. I’ll arrive in Ito at 11:18. I have a lunch reservation, so I’d like to head there. Maybe because it’s hot, there are hardly any people around. There are hot springs scattered around the area. There are also plenty of dried fish shops. The retro streets are brimming with Showa-era atmosphere. I have some time, so I’ll just wander around a bit . Established in 1948. I came to see Sweet House WAKABA. It’s a popular restaurant that’s been featured in magazines and by influencers. I was curious, so I came to check it out. It’s before noon, but it’s already crowded! Many restaurants keep their shutters closed even at lunchtime on weekends You can make a reservation for the place we’re going to for lunch It’s great that we hardly ever have to wait in line It’s about an 8-minute walk from the station to the lunch spot The restaurant is right in front of “Tokaikan,” a famous tourist spot in Ito I was a little worried when I saw the “Under Preparation” sign up even though they were already open but it seems they had forgotten to put the sign away It’s a popular eel restaurant that is fully booked at lunchtime It’s great to be able to make a reservation without having to wait in line in a tourist spot (Depending on the previous customer’s eating time, you may have to wait for a seat) Eel liver skewers It’s the best I’ll have the regular unaju, which also comes with soup My husband paid an additional 100 yen and changed his soup to liver soup. Thank you for the meal! I’m full. The Tokaikan building is right in front of me, and admission is 200 yen for adults. Inside there is also a cafe and a bath (500 yen for adults) . I had tea at the cafe in Tokaikan before, and it was a really nice cafe. I’ve been to Tokaikan before, so on this day I decided to take a walk down to the sea. There are black-tailed gulls. One of them is floating above the waves. Its fluffy feathers make it look like a baby. Its face is sharp. Well, I’ll stop for tea somewhere before heading to my lodging for the night. A hidden cafe on a back street that is popular with tourists and locals alike. The menu mainly consists of drinks made with “Guri tea,” a specialty of Izu. There is also a wide selection of sweets, such as waffles. My husband had iced coffee. The coffee beans used are from a coffee bean shop well-known in Ito Thank you for the meal! We headed to the shuttle bus stop for the hotel near Ito Station Our destination is Aoyama Yamato We were given ice-cold towels on the shuttle bus The shuttle bus departs every 30 minutes from 13:30 to 17:30 We don’t recommend walking from Ito Station as it’s a long way and there are slopes The yuzu juice welcome drink was delicious! Women can choose their yukata inside the hotel There are so many colors of tabi socks to choose from! Men can also choose their own tabi socks ♪ And we were able to choose the colour of the obi to match our yukata My husband seemed disappointed that men couldn’t choose their yukata as well The hotel is on a hill so the views from the higher floors are particularly great Our room type was a “guest room with an open-air bath fed directly from the hot spring” We had a room on the 6th floor with a fantastic view Let’s take a look at the open-air bath fed directly from the hot spring Wow It was hot! The waitress brought us matcha It seems she prepared each cup individually The matcha was delicious I immediately had a bath (it was hot so I diluted it with water) I changed into my yukata and walked around the inn Sakura Tea Club Lounge (This is where I checked in) There’s a garden It’s a well-maintained miniature garden I went all the way to the back, but it was small so my walk through the garden was over soon I looked around the souvenir shop before returning to my room I found out later that there is an art gallery on the second floor There is a large public bath on the sixth floor, where cold tea is available The large public bath is also very wonderful so I definitely recommend you take a bath! It’s dinner time When we mentioned that it was my husband’s birthday, we were given complimentary champagne He’s not used to eating in his room, so I would have preferred to go to the dining area, but the in-room dining plan was the only option available My husband turned 48 The appetizers look like this They can also accommodate allergies The bowls are beautifully presented♪ The sashimi is also delicious You can choose from four main dishes I chose “dancing grilled abalone” Waiting for it to be cooked♪ Steamed pumpkin Each piece is carefully presented and tastes great The abalone is looking great! The waitress quickly cut it into pieces It was soft and chewy, and the flavor was overwhelming My husband chose the “Izu Venison Spare Ribs” We also had the “Dream Rockfish with Vegetable Sauce” and “Mikkabi Fillet Steak” The menu changes depending on the period, so check the latest arrivals on the website! The game meat was soft and refreshing, retaining its wild flavor! The “Unagi Zaku” with accents of myoga ginger and finely chopped ginger was a hit It left a refreshing feeling in the mouth, but the deliciousness of the eel only whetted my appetite The hot pot is “Marlin Negima Nabe” You can also add kanzuri to taste White rice, pickles, and red miso soup For dessert, we had coconut pudding, soybean flour yokan, and watermelon As I can’t eat coconut I had Shine Muscat grapes and mandarin oranges Good morning It’s a beautiful sunny day, and it’s been hot since the morning! The sun is rising A location where you can see the sunrise and the sea from your room The open-air bath lit by the morning sun The morning bath felt great I went to the large public bath in the evening, but no one was using it, so we had it all to ourselves It was a great bath, and it was fantastic 8 o’clock. Breakfast is served in your room. The dried fish is delicious. The rice goes down well. Thank you for the meal. We took the 9:10 shuttle bus to Ito Station and rented a car to get to Mt. Omuroyama. I’ve been to Mt. Omuroyama many times, but this is the first time I’ve seen such a long line. It was full of foreigners! The lift fare had risen to 1,000 yen round trip The last time I came here, there weren’t many foreigners Inbound tourism is amazing It’s going viral because it’s described as a place similar to a scene from “Your Name” It seems the number of tourists is increasing Arrived at the top Another reason for its popularity seems to be the spectacular torii gate It’s the torii gate of Sengen Shrine and has been there since ancient times All sorts of things happen when something goes viral on social media Since I’ve come all this way, I decided to walk around the top of the mountain Mount Omuroyama is burned in February I’ve seen it once before and it was spectacular! I also went to Komuroyama during azalea season. April is the best time to visit. Clouds drift by like mist. The road is paved, but comfortable shoes are recommended. In an instant, we’re in the clouds. I’m getting hungry, so I’m heading back. The ride down the lift is a little scary, but the views are great. Someone’s hat had fallen. Next to Mt. Omuroyama is the Izu Cactus Zoo. I considered going again that day, but it was too hot, so I gave up. I’ve been there twice in the winter, and I was able to see the capybaras in their hot springs. I watched the mountain burning from inside the Cactus Park. The parking lot at Cactus Park gets very busy, so I recommend coming early in the morning. Mt. Omuroyama this summer was filled with greenery and was very pleasant. We went to a farm cafe and restaurant run by a married couple who are vegetable sommeliers. We didn’t make a reservation, but I’m glad we were able to get in. (Reservations seem to be given priority) For lunch, you can choose your side dish and main dish Other dishes available include beef bulgogi, hash brown, chicken with black vinegar, pork ginger stir-fry, and keema curry both the rice and vegetables are carefully selected Each dish was carefully prepared to be delicious Hot coffee was served after the meal. We even got some chocolate ♪ Thanks for the meal We stopped by Kanade no Mori Resort, which opened in 2023 near Mt. Omuroyama There is a cafe and restaurant inside the facility It seems there is also a glamping facility, so we took a look at it from a distance There seem to be about 16 glamping tents We bought some coffee beans as souvenirs at Wecker and headed home This was the end of our trip to Ito . Seizan Yamato, a ryokan that retains the atmosphere of the Showa and Heisei eras and conveys a different kind of Japanese charm , was a wonderful inn packed with the Japanese spirit of hospitality. Ito’s charm is still deep, but it was an enjoyable two-day, one-night stay.
