星のカービィフェスティバル！カービィに会えた期間限定のラッピング電車を体験｜阪急電車カービィ電車
This time, I rode the limited-time Kirby collaboration train! Enjoy a relaxing time surrounded by Kirby everywhere. For a limited time, Hankyu Railway operated a special “Kirby” wrapped train. The Kirby Collaboration Festival runs until March 17, 2026. Umeda Station is filled with Kirby everywhere! Right now, Umeda Station is hosting the “Pupupu Festival.” The festival runs until October 31. In the past, Hankyu has collaborated with various characters like “Chiikawa” and “Tom & Jerry.” The exclusive Kirby illustrations on the Hankyu trains are just too cute! For the latest collaboration info, it’s best to check the free pamphlet. You can also enjoy the wrapped train and a Kirby-themed sugoroku board game using the pamphlet. Alright, let’s head to ride the Kirby train right away! Since I’ll be riding multiple times, I decided to buy a one-day pass. If you wish, you can also get a Kirby-designed one-day pass (available until November 24). It even comes with a postcard mount. Kirbys riding the train together—it’s pure peace. This pass allows unlimited rides not only on Hankyu trains but also on Hankyu buses. As soon as I entered the ticket gate, I found a Kirby shop! This shop was open only for a limited time, from September 17 to September 29, and has now ended. You could enjoy shopping in a colorful world using the event key art. Kirby and Waddle Dee holding balloons welcomed visitors. It’s a small shop, but full of Kirby goods. Some plushies I saw at the Kirby Café before were also sold here. The Kirby collaboration is incredibly popular! Some goods were already sold out. Check the official site for wrapping train operation schedules. The Kirby-wrapped train on the Kyoto Line has arrived. The train body is covered in Kirby illustrations. The quality is really high! One Kirby-wrapped train is running on each of the Kobe, Takarazuka, and Kyoto Lines. Each line features unique headmarks and decoration designs. First up, the Kyoto Line train bound for Kawaramachi. Inside the driver’s cab, Kirby is riding along! So cute! The Kyoto Line train features designs of dango, herring soba, matcha, and more. You can feel the Kyoto vibe even through Kirby and Waddle Dee. I can’t help but keep staring… Not just food from Kyoto—Kirby is even inhaling the letters “HANKYU”! (lol) Since it’s almost departure time, let’s hop on and head to Kyoto. Oh! There’s Kirby here too. Kirbys are everywhere—above and below. After leaving Umeda, you can spot Kirby striking a conductor pose! Not just the exterior—the interior has original Kirby illustrations too. Even the stickers on the doors differ by line, so be sure to check them out. The hanging posters feature exclusive collaboration art and designs that look back on Kirby’s history. Kirby was born on April 27, 1992, on the Game Boy, and celebrated his 33rd anniversary in 2025. Kirby has been with us since childhood. It’s wonderful that we can still enjoy him today in trains and cafés. There are six different poster designs by the doors. Easy to miss, but some of the hanging straps even have Kirby on them. At the front of the train, you can spot the back of a hard-working Waddle Dee. After about an hour, the train arrives at Kyoto Kawaramachi, the last stop. Along the Hankyu lines, there are seven stamp rally points. One of them is here at Kyoto Kawaramachi Station. Collect four stamps, and you’ll receive an original magnet as a participation prize. And with a lottery win, you might even get an original clock. If this existed when I was a kid, I would have been overjoyed! Many children were riding the Kirby train, and they all behaved so well. It’s full of photo spots—definitely worth a visit! Next is the Kobe Line Kirby train. He’s eating Kobe beef and pork buns from Nankinmachi… The design evokes Kobe’s sea and port town atmosphere. Waddle Dee is so cute~!!! On the Kyoto Line he was holding dango, but this time the conductor Waddle Dee is holding bread. The last train is the Takarazuka Line! The last car features Waddle Dee’s design. He’s holding a Hankyu train! On the Takarazuka Line, there are illustrations of Waddle Dee with autumn leaves and the Takarazuka Revue. Also, the HEP FIVE Ferris wheel in Umeda and Minoh Falls. Even though it’s the Takarazuka Line, the food Kirby inhales are Osaka specialties. Some days there are only a few wrapped trains, but on busy days you can see three in one day! It’s a limited-time event, so please come see and experience it yourself! Back at Hankyu Umeda Station, I took a little break. Even the vending machines are Kirby-themed! I have to buy a drink from this! This unique machine dispenses freshly squeezed orange juice. Waddle Dee stares at the oranges as they come out. The machine carefully squeezes each one. In about a minute, the juice is ready. I had to grab it before Kirby inhaled it first! The orange juice was super cold and rich—so delicious! Even the container has Kirby on it! The design is perfect. There’s another Kirby vending machine. It sells limited-edition Kirby canned drinks. At Umeda Station’s vending machines, two different Kirby designs are randomly available. The Kirby designs differ depending on the sales location. Ahh!! So cute~! The drink is lemon soda. It tastes kind of like CC Lemon? Umeda Station is full of Kirby photo spots! Look—it’s Kirby with the ticket gate! You can take a commemorative photo with Kirby as you pass through. Right next to it is a Meta Knight photo spot too. Every design is stylish and adorable! NU Chayamachi. At NU Chayamachi, various Kirby events are being held. Kirby is everywhere! The decorations run until October 31. There are so many Kirby events! The Kirby signs are huge! The everyday lives of Waddle Dees are so peaceful and soothing. And on this day—you could meet Kirby himself! Kirby is here!!! When Kirby appeared, the whole venue was buzzing. Kirby is so tiny and adorable. Instead of walking, he leisurely strolled on a cart called the “Star.” A few minutes later, he came back again. He walked around the venue, so I got to see him up close. Then a photo session began. At first I couldn’t see anything! But then I finally got a glimpse. When the session ended, he got back on the Star. His waddling steps were so lovable. Walking that much must be tough for him. He came toward us riding on the Star. It was my first time ever seeing the real Kirby. His body is all soft and squishy. That day, three 15-minute photo sessions were held. It’s not yet decided if there will be another, but I really hope so! This is where we say goodbye to Kirby. See you again~!! Bye-bye~. Lastly, the “Pupupu Market” full of Kirby goods. This shop is the first permanent Kirby goods store in Umeda. Its concept is “What if there was a supermarket in Pupupu Land where you could buy anything?” Inside, you’ll find lots of Kirby goods, exclusive supermarket-style items, and original shopping bags. Each store has a completely different atmosphere, which makes it fun. Out of all I’ve visited so far, this one feels like it has the widest variety. There are also in-game character goods and Kirby burger toys—Kirby immersion at its finest. If you love Kirby, be sure to visit here along with the Kirby Café!
