This time, we’re visiting the Chinese restaurant “Ataka” in Yagamicho.
There’s a private parking lot nearby. Lunchtime is from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Closed on Sundays. ① Tonkatsu set meal, 1,000 yen (tax included). They used to have a popular daily special, but it’s gone now, so they’re sticking to the standard menu! Thick pork cutlet with aurora sauce. ② Katsudon, 900 yen (tax included). Enjoy the onion and green onion broth with a touch of chili pepper 🌶️. ③ Fried chicken set meal, 1,000 yen (tax included). It comes with side dishes and egg drop soup, so it’s quite filling. Inside the large fried chicken …is an onion!? It transforms into a texture that is almost like “kakiage” (tempura) ④ Mini Set, B, 900 yen (tax included) Mini champon, mini fried rice A is a mini ramen for 850 yen. It’s mini, but there’s plenty of noodles. The light soup goes well with the noodles. ⑤ Saraudon Set, 880 yen (tax included)
Small noodles. Comes with a small side dish such as potato salad. Sweet sauce and plenty of ingredients such as shrimp. Crispy noodles． ⑥ Chinese rice bowl, 980 yen (tax included)

It’s exquisite and goes down well with rice. Even though the portion size is overwhelming…

今回は、長崎県長崎市矢上町にある中華料理「あたか」さんです。※字幕付き（設定より）
一見、昔ながらの町中華・・・と思いきや、驚かされる工夫が随所にあります。例えば唐揚げ。大きな塊を頬張るのかと思えば、中には玉ねぎが練り込まれ、まるでかき揚げのような食感。定食には必ず小鉢やかき玉スープが添えられ、ただのボリューム勝負では終わりません。
以前は日替わり定食が人気でしたが、現在は廃止。その代わりに登場したのは、トンカツ定食や皿うどん定食など、一つひとつの完成度を高めた“定番勝負”。厚めのトンカツにオーロラソース、香ばしいパリパリ麺に甘めの餡。どれもガッツリなのに、後味は不思議と軽やか。
さらに期間限定の中華丼は、イカやエビ、豚肉と野菜がゴロゴロ入った逸品。濃すぎず、しかし物足りなさを感じさせない塩味の餡で、思わずご飯が進みます。ボリュームに圧倒されながらも「また食べたい」と感じてしまいます。
町の小さな中華料理店でありながら、訪れるたびに発見がある。シンプルで正直な味わいの中に、驚きと満足が繰り返し訪れる。最後のひと口を食べ終えた瞬間、きっと「次は何を頼もう」と思わせてくれるはずです。
