【関東最古の山岳寺院】第9番 都幾山 慈光寺【坂東三十三観音霊場】【The oldest mountain temple in the Kanto region】 Toki-san Jikou-ji
坂東三十三観音霊場の札所巡りにチャレンジしてみることにしました。

今回は埼玉県比企郡ときがわ町にある都幾山 慈光寺をお参りさせて頂きました。1300年の歴史を誇る関東最古の山岳寺院と言われています。
緑に包まれた美しい境内には見事な山門や観音堂の他、数々の素晴らしい建造物があります。また、かつて慈光寺が女人禁制だったことから、観音堂へ参詣できなかった女人のために建立されたと言われる「女人堂」が境外仏堂として山の麓にあります。
秋の初めの彼岸花(曼珠沙華)の季節の美しい坂東の風景と素晴らしい寺院の様子をお楽しみ頂けると嬉しいです。
This time, I visited Toki-san Jikou-ji Temple in Tokigawa Town, Hiki District, Saitama Prefecture.
Boasting a history of 1,300 years, it is said to be the oldest mountain temple in the Kanto region.
The beautiful temple grounds, surrounded by greenery, are home to a number of stunning structures, including a magnificent mountain gate and Kannon Hall.
Also, as Jikou-ji Temple was once off-limits to women, the Women’s Hall, located at the foot of the mountain, is said to have been built for women who were unable to visit the Kannon Hall.
I hope you enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Bando region and the magnificent temple during the early autumn season of red spider lilies (manjushage).
