【伊豆の穴場】伊豆アニマルキングダムで癒やしMAX!足湯&キンメダイも満喫した日帰り旅

How are you? This is mamirock. This time I’m going to East Izu to see giraffes and capybaras. It’s easy as the Odoriko train goes directly to my destination, Izu Inatori Station. The operating times and number of trains vary depending on the season, so it’s a little confusing. You can also take the Shinkansen or Tokaido Line to Atami Station and change onto the Ito Line. I found Izu navi on the train and wish I’d known about it sooner. If you add the official LINE account, tourist information will be displayed on a map of the Izu Peninsula. You can discover tourist spots and restaurants you didn’t know about. Discount coupons were also distributed. If I had known about it beforehand, I could have gotten 100 yen off the admission fee (I had already purchased my ticket). You can see Oshima across the sea! We’ve finally arrived at Izu Inatori, home to the famous golden-eyed snapper How do I get from the station to Animal Kingdom? The bus, which runs once an hour, had already left 10 minutes before our scheduled departure We head to the taxi information center next to the station There are only three taxis in town, so we had to wait 15 minutes We’ll do some sightseeing around the station while we wait for the taxi The tourist information center inside the station, “Yoyo,” will open in 2024 It also houses a cafe, select shop, and workspace There’s also a golden-eyed snapper on the T-shirts There’s also a corner where you can give free drinks to high school students, which is great We’ve arrived in about 10 minutes by taxi The taxi fare was 1,850 yen Learning from the experience of the trip there, we first check the return bus time Considering our future plans, we want to take the 2:15pm bus Next, we check the event times within the park The “Giraffe Close-up” will begin in 10 minutes Let’s hurry to the giraffes! On the way we saw baboons and ostriches but we hurried past them We could see giraffes beyond the trees Animals were living freely in a relaxed environment We saw a very stylish cheetah This place is also famous for its white tigers (which will be introduced later) We arrived at the giraffe area You can feed them a bundle of food for 300 yen We recommend exchanging money beforehand We scraped together all the coins we had and bought just one bundle It was a brief but invaluable experience We were moved to be able to look them in the eye with no barriers between them Giraffes have long legs as well as long necks It’s OK to feed them here anytime It seems that a close-up of a giraffe is in the area opposite We walked around and found a sign! There’s no need to rush, as long as you go between 12 and 1pm you’ll be fine This time we’ll get to experience the size of the giraffes from a bottom angle Kurumi was so cute Next time we’ll play in Animal Paradise I want to be the person who can open doors smartly I was drawn to the adorable capybaras They looked so sleepy-eyed, they were just too cute The one in the back was taking a nap in the sun The six-banded armadillo, the zookeeper’s favorite It’s so cute that it’s Sumikkogurashi It’s OK to touch the capybaras They look like dogs with a bit of stiff fur They’re so unresponsive, but that’s good too (I’m smitten) I wanted to take a capybara home with me, so I did some research Looks like I need a big pool (Aim to be a millionaire) Oh, did they finally respond? It showed us its round belly It’s just too cute to see it munching while sleeping My phone is now filled with pictures of capybaras ♡ A ring-tailed lemur with a fluffy striped tail It looks like Tet from Nausicaa on your shoulder It’s adorable to see it eating from your hand It actually sat on your shoulder It feels so good to have such soft paws You can take it home with you I think that’s a mouflon following the zookeeper That’s a white tiger in the building just beyond Apparently the one-year-old kotara were reacting to the dog No matter how big they get, they can’t hide how cute they are I’d like to hold a newborn one someday There’s also a rhinoceros petting event Touching time begins The rhino’s face is impressive when seen up close A trip to Africa with Afu-kun and Licca-chan! Rhino horns aren’t tusks, but they’re still hard Their large, oblong mouths are also distinctive We were so excited that time flew by We stopped into a cafe restaurant on our way home We laughed at the face-in-the-deck spot we found at the end of the footprints We decided to try it since we were there This is a restaurant where you can get up close to the animals A seat where you can watch the lions through glass This is the white tiger zone We want to relax, but it’s almost time for our bus We made it to the bus to the station safely We went back to Izu Inatori Station to see the hanging dolls There were a series of slopes that we couldn’t see on the map The slopes were tough, but the view of the sea and the slopes was beautiful It was also nice to have a gentle downhill slope after the climb The Hina Doll House was located in a lush park. I discovered a rather unique vending machine. The Banana Crocodile Garden’s Banana Grove is fascinating The courage to buy hanging ornaments worth over 40,000 yen from a vending machine Tsurushi Hina Dolls are a custom that originated among the common people during the Edo period In addition to Izu Inatori, the custom also remains in Yanagawa, Fukuoka, and Sakata, Yamagata You’ll be overwhelmed by the impressive tiered displays and the splendor of the hanging Hina Dolls More characters than appear in “Happy Hina Matsuri” More than just the five court ladies Sugawara no Michizane was there, too There were also Swarovski hanging ornaments I think this red fish is a golden-eyed snapper The festival decorations look fun and nice This one is unmistakably a golden-eyed snapper It’s a symbol of celebration There was a foot bath in the park A wooden foot bath with a nice atmosphere The hot spring soothes your feet after a lot of walking It feels so good you’ll want to take a nap There’s also an open-air foot bath next door It’s become a part of everyday life as a play area for children Hina no Yakata sells 100 yen towels, so it’s fine to just drop in I have to hurry to the restaurant that closes at 4pm As I’m walking, I come across a day-trip hot spring I find a cafe that catches my eye I get lost while looking around Since I’m here, I decide to go see the ocean The sea breeze starts to blow Oshima is clearly visible beyond the sparkling sea And the waves crashing against it are surprisingly strong I arrived safely before the last order My heart leaps when I see the words “Half Price Beer” I have to try the Golden Eye Snapper after all There are a variety of Golden Eye Snapper dishes available Giraffe and Capybara – it was so much fun to choose The aroma of the boiled fish whets my hunger Tokuzomaru is a famous restaurant that serves dishes made with a secret broth It’s definitely delicious Grilled Golden Eye Snapper might actually be quite rare I dropped in just before closing time I saw something interesting in the store window so I made a detour I’m getting closer The entrance doesn’t seem to be this way I say hello to the cat The entrance was this way An intriguing monk visible in the distance Why is he suddenly so character-filled? Back to the main topic, let’s go up the building Unexpectedly beautiful scenery Meet the Great Buddha, which stands out in the fishing port It seems there are many more interesting things to see in Izu Inatori I want to see the animals again, so next time I’ll come and stay overnight
