This video shows scenes from the Mifunashiro Festival, a once-in-20-year event, held at the Outer Shrine of Ise Shrine (Gekū) on September 19, 2025. The Mifunashiro Festival is one of thirty-three events leading up to the 63rd Shikinen Sengū (which celebrates the once-in-20-year rebuilding of the shrine buildings), which will take place in 2033. At today’s event, prayers are offered for the safe felling of timber used in the rebuilding of the shrine.
