「Wednesday camp 」水曜日キャンプ 京都笠置キャンプ場 Kasagi Camping Ground – kyoto 夏の終わりのソロキャンプVlog 4K
Kyoto · Kasagi Campsite —— The Last Camping of Summer 2025 Actually, this trip was in mid-September. I had been too busy, so I only finished editing at the end of the month. I’d heard of Kasagi Campsite long ago: no reservation needed, just 1000 yen per night. But I read on Google that it could be noisy, so I hadn’t come until now. Upon arrival, I took a walk around.Despite the low price, the toilets were surprisingly clean 😄. At the entrance, there’s a map showing nearby scenic spots. The site is spacious, with two toilets, garbage collection♻️, and washing areas. By the riverside, many people were fishing with big nets. I didn’t have one, but I really wanted to try 😅. And yes, they were catching real fish 😺. At noon, I went back to my chosen spot to pitch the tent. I picked the far end of the site to avoid the crowds. But a group of young people next door blasted loud music 😅. Even in mid-September, the heat was exhausting. After setting up the tarp, I was already drained. This was my last time using the summer tent this year. So hot 🫠, sweat pouring down endlessly. This year was brutally hot, with little rain during the rainy season. Afraid of heatstroke, I bought an electrolyte drink from the vending machine 🥵. Work a little, rest a little. That was the rhythm. The campsite is right next to JR Kasagi Station, so it’s easy to reach by train. Recently, I’ve loved using this camping table. Easy to set up and pack away. I’m looking forward to winter, when I can place my wood stove on it. This site is full of young people, perfect for groups of friends. If only I could camp every week… but reality means going back to work 😔. That’s why each trip feels so precious. The firewood shop was a bit far, and the heat kept me from walking too much.
So I grilled lamb over charcoal instead. A friend had prepared lamb skewers for me at home. Turns out they were too long 😂. At sunset, the mountains glowed golden. As the light faded, night slowly settled in. I brought some gelatin and tried making coffee jelly with AeroPress coffee, to save for breakfast the next day. At night, the moon rose from behind the mountains. The light attracted a tiny visitor 😄. Sat quietly, watching the moon climb higher, then went for a shower. Next to the showers, there’s even a 24-hour firewood vending machine 👍. There are two shower rooms spacious and clean. It says 300 yen for 4 minutes, but it lasted longer. Taking a shower felt amazing 😄. Campsites with showers are the best! The night was quieter than expected, maybe because I camped deep inside. I checked on my coffee jelly. Half successful 😂—a bit too soft, maybe because of the heat. But with milk, it tasted great 🥰. Breakfast was figs, unsweetened yogurt, and banana. I chose high-protein yogurt since I’m watching my weight lately. Over the past two months, I’ve been spending less time on my phone. The less I check, the less I feel the need to. Too much information only clutters the mind and breeds anxiety. As a child, life was joyful without a phone. Now, I truly enjoy the freedom of not being bound by social media. Sometimes I don’t reply to messages right away.
Don’t worry—I’m doing well. I like being alone, without talking, without socializing. Camping alone, emptying my mind, savoring peace. With age, I’ve grown fonder of silence. And no—I never feel lonely 😂. Goodbye, summer. Before leaving, I walked to the riverside once more. In this world, some live in happiness, some in hardship. May all kind souls be treated with gentleness. GOD BLESS US

Nice photo of the grasshopper and of the clouds coming over the mountain side in the morning. Your words are true. I hope they bring you inner peace.👍
