【秋田 仙北地区】碧の神湖と日本一の強酸性泉が湧き出る不思議な湯治場を訪ねる|Honda Reble250 S Edition |休日バイク Vlog

Good morning, it’s Seaman. Day two of my Akita Prefecture trip has begun. Today, I’m heading to a hidden hot spring deep in the mountains! It’s quite a long way from Akita Station, but it’s a wonderful place that’s worth the trip, so I’m excited. I’ll fill up the tank just in case. Didn’t need much. I forgot to close the lid. I see thick clouds up ahead. Damn… is it raining? I’ve arrived in Semboku City, Akita Prefecture. This is a place in Akita Prefecture where bear sightings are frequent, so I’m actually riding with a lot of fear. They’re said to come out early in the morning… I won’t let my guard down. Well, I’m about to arrive at my first destination for today. I made it! I’m at Lake Tazawa. I’m glad I came here early 🙂
It’s only 7 AM. Lake Tazawa. Once upon a time, a beautiful girl named Tatsuko wished to be forever young and beautiful, and she prayed to Kannon, the goddess of mercy. She received a prophecy that said, “Go north and drink from the sacred spring, and your wish will be granted.” Tatsuko kept drinking from the spring, but because she drank too much, she transformed into a dragon. She then sank into Lake Tazawa and became its guardian. Where are you from? I came from Tokyo. Wow. Oh, by train? By plane. Plane from Tokyo? I sort of warped here, haha. You’re not staying for the fireworks, are you?
(*The famous Omagari Fireworks Festival is on August 30th). It seems like it’ll be crowded for the fireworks, so I’ll be going home before then.
(*The famous Omagari Fireworks Festival is on August 30th). There’s a place for four people, but there are only three of us, so you can stay with us if you want. You’re going to watch the fireworks? Oh, that’s nice! Be careful. Thank you. They were such cheerful old men. It gave me a lot of energy, haha. The enshrined deity is Tatsuko, the goddess from the legend of Lake Tazawa. Since the god of Lake Hachirogata would come to meet her every winter, it is known as a shrine for matchmaking. Lake Tazawa is also famous for not freezing even in winter, and there is a legend that this is due to the power of the two gods’ love. Apparently, there are some fish here. I’ll go check them out. The water is so clean. There are so many fish!!! It seems they sell fish food at the nearby shop, but it was too early and the shop wasn’t open. By the way, the depth of Lake Tazawa is about 423.4 meters. It’s the deepest lake in Japan. It probably doesn’t freeze in winter because it’s so deep, not because of the legend, haha. Lake Tazawa. A quick detour before heading to the hot spring. My mom told me about a delicious honey shop, so I came to get some. Wow, it’s nothing but honey! I’m going to have a hard time choosing. There were samples, so I’ll try them. I’ll try the “Honey Milk Pururun Jam.” This is super sweet, but I want to slather it on bread and eat it! It’s so much fun tasting all the different honeys before deciding. The honey miso is also delicious <3<3 I found a honey gachapon machine. I'll give it a try. Honey gachapon, 400 yen. I got coffee-flavored honey. Okay, I guess I'll buy this honey with nuts. Oh? It's honey from Japanese honeybees! Wow, I want it! Apparently, a honeybee collects only one teaspoon of honey in its entire life. Delicious. It's a precious gift from nature. Honey is so good. *I didn't end up buying the nuts. And I'll also have a honey soft serve. Please roll the dice. If you roll an 8, you'll get 8 chocolate bees. *(The Japanese word for 8 and bee sound the same). 8 is the lucky number. *(The Japanese word for 8 and bee sound the same). It's a 1. Then you'll get one. haha. You'll get one chocolate bee. Thank you very much. The richness is amazing! The aroma of the honey is so nice and it's so delicious:) Ice cream on a bike trip is the best. Meanwhile, Fukusuke is... It's on the president's property. Oh, is that right? We used to have some in the mountains, too. Like in a garden? Exactly. This video is also from that garden. When do you harvest the honey? Around June. Around then? Earlier, I bought some Japanese honeybees... From Japanese honeybees? I bought some, but... The ones here now are Western honeybees. Japanese honeybees are rare now... It said that on the label. So, the number of Japanese honeybees is decreasing. That's right. These in the video are also Western honeybees. Lastly, they let me sample some honey fruit vinegar. I'm so satisfied that I could buy precious Japanese honeybee honey. *(Honey Curry ¥950 | Japanese Honeybee Wildflower Honey ¥1,188). Now, let's head to the hot spring. After enjoying plenty of mountain honey, I'm off to a hidden hot spring deep in the mountains. It's called Tamagawa Onsen, and it's a very unusual hot spring. The scenery on the way is so beautiful. It looks like something from "Howl's Moving Castle." A vast, beautiful landscape that looks like something from Howl's castle. It's said that in seasons with a lot of water, the entire primeval forest gets submerged by the dam. In Semboku City, there have been frequent landslides due to recent heavy rains, and this road was apparently closed for a long time. Wow, it's beautiful. The Tamagawa Onsen I'm heading to is an extremely acidic hot spring, so the hot spring components flowing into the river turn the surface of the surrounding stones and rocks brown. Because of its strong acidity, almost no fish or algae can live there. Whoa. The smell of the hot spring is so strong. Wow... I've arrived! I'm here! About an hour after leaving Lake Tazawa, I arrived at Tamagawa Onsen, a hidden famous hot spring deep in the mountains. Parking the bike is a little tricky. Yes, just like that, just like that, just like that. Okay, is this good? Tamagawa Onsen. Tamagawa Onsen is a rare hot spring in the world with hydrochloric acid as its main component, and it's a mysterious hot spring that contains a small amount of radium. This time, I'm going to explore this mysterious and fascinating Tamagawa Onsen with its unusual water quality. The water quality of Tamagawa Onsen is pH 1.2, the most acidic in Japan. This is even more acidic than stomach acid, and it can dissolve a knife overnight. Also, since trace amounts of radium radiation are emitted from the natural ore called hokutolite, it is also a spa resort visited by many people for therapeutic purposes, using the benefits of nature. (Many visitors are cancer patients). The sight of people doing bedrock bathing to get radium and radon from the hot spring vapor is also unique to Tamagawa Onsen. The 9,000 liters of hot water that gushes out per minute is also the largest in Japan. (Enough to fill a home bathtub in one second). The fact that this is 98°C hydrochloric acid makes it feel terrifying and poisonous. By the way, hydrochloric acid water has a high sterilizing effect, and it seems that many people with atopic dermatitis come here for treatment. I also came here a few times when my dyshidrosis was severe, and it helped a lot. Doing bedrock bathing in a place filled with lots of toxic gas. This is probably the strange, somewhat frightening, and yet appealing part of Tamagawa Onsen. By the way, Tamagawa Onsen is considered the birthplace of bedrock bathing. The amount of gas in this area is quite high, and the smell of sulfur is so strong that it's hard to breathe. It's a massive amount of toxic-looking volcanic gas... Okay, I'll go through without stopping. It's hot, probably... It's a little scary to walk through here. Oh, it's not that hot. I successfully made it through, haha. The water is incredible. Why is it so white...? It's my first time coming this far, and the bizarre scenery leaves me speechless. "Beware of Bears" Alright. Let's go down. I realize there's no one around, and I start to get a little nervous. It's hot... I can feel the incredible geothermal heat just by walking. I'm covered in sweat. Do snakes like geothermal heat too? Well, since I've worked up a sweat, I'm going to take a dip in the hydrochloric acid hot spring. The hydrochloric acid water stings a lot, and it feels like it's sterilizing everything. 100% pure spring water is a little scary. For souvenirs, I bought Tamagawa Onsen bath salts and a cup of Baba-hera ice cream. I really wanted a "Baba" (old woman) to make it for me, but she wasn't there, so I bought the cup version. By the way, this is the Baba-hera I ate in Kabukicho last year, and it's an Akita Prefecture food where they scoop ice cream onto a cone with a spatula. Basically, a "Baba" (an old woman) makes it for you. That's why it's called "Baba-hera" (Old woman's spatula), haha. It has a unique taste, so if you ever go to Akita Prefecture, you should try to find a Baba and eat it! It's delicious! I'm grateful that you can buy it in a cup even if a Baba isn't there. By the way, Tamagawa Onsen is right near Hachimantai, so be sure to stop by if you go there! I didn't have time to go to Hachimantai... *I'll definitely come back! The hidden hot spring deep in the mountains was a little scary, very mysterious, and fascinating. I've returned to Lake Tazawa. I haven't had lunch yet, so I think I'll take a break. Wait, where's the key? Oh, here it is. The birthplace of "Miso Tanpo." I came here with an empty stomach because I wanted to eat their "Miso Tanpo." Miso Tanpo is a dish made by shaping half-pounded rice around a stick of Akita cedar, then grilling it with miso sauce. It's one of Akita's local dishes. Let's eat! Wow! So delicious! The Miso Tanpo was so good that I ordered a bunch of other things. A large-sized char. It's too delicious. This is the most delicious Miso Tanpo I've ever had. I can't stop eating.

  1. I love how you find the legend of the lake funny, as a non Japanese Shinto believer, I always find I learn so much from the meaning and teachings behind these stories, not so much the surface but the true meaning behind this.

As usual 本当に好き your videos and your rides and adventure. Thank you for showing more new places to ride in and hope one day I can bump into you when I am riding in Japan.
