【ポケモンの船!?】美味しい素麺を食べに、小豆島へ行く…!! 小豆島フェリー「ヤドンのフェリー 1号船」高松→小豆島【フェリー旅】

Hello, everyone. My name is TOMONI. I am currently visiting Takamatsu Station in Kagawa Prefecture. This video will probably be uploaded to YouTube around mid-September, but it was filmed in mid-July, during a heatwave that continues to scorch. The cloudless blue sky is a testament to the heatwave. In the heat, I, TOMONI, thought, “I want to eat some cold somen noodles…” So, I decided to head to Shodoshima , a famous somen-producing region. I headed to Shodoshima by ferry, as usual, but luckily, Takamatsu Port, where the ferry departs , is within walking distance from Takamatsu Station. Incidentally, buses depart from this bus terminal near Takamatsu Station for Takamatsu Higashi Port, where the Jumbo Ferry, which connects Takamatsu and Kobe, departs . You can take the Jumbo Ferry from Takamatsu to Kobe. I have posted a URL in the description box to show what it was like , so if you’re interested, please take a look. Now that I’ve promoted my past videos, let’s head to Takamatsu Port, the departure and arrival point for the Shodoshima Ferry that we will be boarding today. There are large signs like this in many places about how to get to Takamatsu Port, so even first-time boarders like me won’t get lost. So, let’s head to Takamatsu Port. After about 5 minutes of walking, we could see the incredibly beautiful sea. As you all probably already know , this place is Takamatsu Port. The path we have walked up to here also has a roof over the walkway. This roof blocks the sunlight , so the pleasant sea breeze feels really good. So, let’s head to the terminal where the ferry to Shodoshima departs and arrives . Arriving at the terminal It seems that ferries bound for three ports depart from this terminal So, let’s go inside the terminal right away It seems that there are different counters for each destination, and this is the counter where you buy tickets for the ferry to Tonosho Port on Shodoshima, which I will be boarding this time It seems that you can also purchase tickets from the ticket vending machine, so let’s quickly purchase one The fare is 700 yen for a one-way trip per adult and 1,330 yen for a round trip , so I successfully purchased my ticket This time I bought a one-way ticket Ferries to Shodoshima depart several times a day, and because they are unreserved seats, it seems like you can board any ferry on the day you purchase your ticket Ferries to Tonosho Port appear to be operated by three boats Looking at the timetable, the next ferry departing is a specially wrapped ferry with Pokemon printed on it, which gets me excited! There are also ferries with prints of “Teasing Master Takagi-san,” an anime set in Shodoshima, which is a delight for anime fans. By the way, the terminal itself is not that big, but it has all the necessary facilities such as vending machines and rest areas, so it should not be a problem even if you arrive early. I bought a coffee from the vending machine and waited inside the terminal for about 15 minutes . It seems that the Slowpoke ferry I will be boarding today is arriving at Takamatsu Port, so this is the Shodoshima Ferry “Udon Prefecture P” that I will be boarding today. Team Rocket’s Slowpoke’s “Slowpoke” Wrapped Ferry , commonly known as “Slowpoke Ferry No. 1” The ferry’s specs are as follows: As the name suggests, the side of the ship is wrapped with the image of the Pokémon Slowpoke. There may be some people who are not familiar with Pokémon, so just in case, the pink Pokémon on the left is Slowpoke. While I was admiring the ship, it docked in no time . I decided to wait a little inside the terminal for boarding time. I waited for about 5 minutes, and before I knew it , it was time to board. Since it is a short-distance ferry, the gangway is very short. Now, let’s get on board. Anyway, the first thing that catches your eye when you board is of course Slowpoke (lol). So, from here, I will take a walk around the ship, which is full of Slowpoke . The first thing we saw was this flat seating area. Shoes are not allowed in this area, so you can stretch your legs and relax while being watched over by many Yadon. The seats in the center of the boat are bench-style, and there are box seats with tables on both sides, so families and groups can feel safe. The front of the boat is a reclining seating area, but the space on the left is a women’s priority seat, so men should be careful not to sit down there by mistake. As for other facilities, there is a shop in the center of the boat that sells snacks and light meals, but we decided to visit this later , so we decided to climb the central stairs to go to the observation deck, but there was also a large I couldn’t hide my surprise at the drawing of a Slowpoke . It was almost difficult to find a place without a Slowpoke (lol). So, we headed to the observation deck. Of course, there were a lot of Slowpokes on the observation deck, but there were other Pokemon elements as well, such as a table with a picture of a monster ball. It was a little hot in the direct sunlight, but we decided to enjoy the departure time from the observation deck. About 10 minutes after boarding , the ship departed Takamatsu Port while retracting the ramp for loading vehicles. This was probably my first experience of departing while retracting the ramp , and I was extremely surprised. While I was surprised by this new experience , the townscape of Takamatsu gradually faded into the distance. Looking at the townscape of Takamatsu again , it wasn’t as big as the metropolitan area, but it was still quite urban. It’s a meeting. As I was thinking about this , I happened to look next to me and saw a high-speed boat that must have just departed from Takamatsu Port. As expected, it was faster and in no time it was ahead of our boat. Our destination, Tonosho Port on Shodoshima, was only an hour’s journey, a short distance of about 22 km. In this way, it is surprisingly easy to travel between Takamatsu Port and Tonosho Port, and this “Yadon Ferry No. 1” is a hard-working boat that travels back and forth between Takamatsu Port and Tonosho Port five times a day . I enjoyed the view from the observation deck for a while, but it was starting to get hot, so I decided to enter the boat through a different entrance than when I arrived, and was a little surprised by the large number of Yadons that greeted me (lol). Here, I noticed that the large number of Yadons that had been appearing since earlier had appeared. I’d like to introduce you to Yadon. Yadon is a type of Pokemon that appears in the hugely popular Pokemon series that Japan is proud of , and as you all know, it’s one of Japan’s most popular games . You might be wondering, “Why Yadon?” In fact, because the sound of Yadon is similar to that of udon, a specialty of Kagawa Prefecture, Kagawa Prefecture signed a “Regional Revitalization Partnership and Cooperation Agreement” with The Pokemon Company in 2018, and appointed Yadon as the “Udon Prefecture PR Team.” The Shodoshima Ferry, which I am on today , is helping to promote Kagawa Prefecture through this large-scale collaboration. Now that I’ve finished introducing Yadon , I’ve come to the shop on board . The shop has delicious snacks to enjoy during the cruise, as well as souvenirs from Kagawa Prefecture and Shodoshima , and items related to Yadon that I introduced earlier. They sell a lot of lab products, and also light snacks like udon, so you don’t have to worry if you get a little hungry.By the way, it seems that the Gofune-in (sweet ship mark) that I usually buy on boat trips is no longer on sale, so instead I bought a snack called “Slowpoke’s Tail Teto”, a collaboration product with Slowpoke.Actually , there is an official Pokemon setting that “Slowpoke’s tail is delicious” , so I think they probably used that setting to develop this product. So I ate my “Slowpoke’s Tail Teto” while enjoying the beautiful view.Time flies when you’re eating delicious snacks. With about 10 minutes left until we arrive at Shodoshima, I climbed the stairs covered with Slowpokes and headed back to the observation deck. Let ‘s go outside. It’s really hot… It was a scorching hot day with temperatures reaching nearly 35°C during the day, but perhaps it’s because we’re approaching our arrival date. Besides me, many other people were enjoying the boat trip from the observation deck. As you can see, the water is very calm with almost no waves. Thanks to that, there was almost no rocking, so it was a very comfortable boat trip with no seasickness. Just as I was starting to feel a little unsatisfied that this comfortable boat trip only lasted an hour, the townscape of Shodoshima gradually came into view ahead of the boat. Shodoshima, floating in the Seto Inland Sea, is the second largest island in Kagawa Prefecture. Taking advantage of its warm climate, it is known as the birthplace of olive cultivation and is also known as the “Olive Island.” The reason why the funnel of this boat has an olive design is because That’s why it’s famous as the setting for the movie “Twenty-Four Eyes,” and one of its charms is the opportunity to encounter a nostalgic Showa-era landscape. Shodoshima is also home to the “Kankakei Gorge,” one of Japan’s three most beautiful valleys , offering beautiful scenery in every season. You can also enjoy traditional cuisine, such as somen noodles and soy sauce. Shodoshima is an island packed with attractions, packed with nature, history, and gourmet food. We’ve just arrived. The “Yadon Ferry No. 1” has arrived at Tonosho Port, and when I looked at the berth next to it , I saw that the Shodoshima Ferry was about to depart for Takamatsu Port. The current time was 11:40, right on schedule. When I returned to the ship, it seemed that disembarking had already begun, so I hurried off to get my luggage. The time from docking to disembarking is quite long. The speed is overwhelming, something you can only get from a short-distance ferry. If you hesitate, you will quickly be left behind , so unlike when boarding, disembarking is from the vehicle deck . I was looking at the “Yadon Ferry No. 1” that I boarded this time, and I was impressed to see so many people taking pictures of the hull besides me, probably because a decorated ferry is rare . After traveling this far, viewers may have forgotten, but my ultimate goal as TOMONI is to eat delicious somen noodles (lol). So, I’m going to head to a restaurant that I researched in advance, but it’s a bit far away, so I ‘ll go by bicycle. I thought about renting a bicycle that was close to the port , but it seems that I need to download an app for my smartphone. I tried my best , but in the end I couldn’t figure out how to rent a bike , so I ended up using the rental bikes at the tourist information center. I felt a little embarrassed that I couldn’t keep up with modern conveniences (lol), but I successfully completed the rental bike application. I immediately got on my bike and headed to my destination shop, but please note that you cannot take photos while driving. So, let’s go ! Yes, I safely arrived at my destination shop. My destination is a somen noodle specialty shop called “Somen-ya Kibako.” By the way, it’s only about a 10-minute bike ride from Tonosho Port, so it’s very accessible. The menu in front of the shop is written in both Japanese and English, so it seems to be popular with foreign tourists. Now, let’s go inside the shop. The interior of the shop has a cool atmosphere, probably due to the use of wood. Light pours in through the large windows, creating a very cozy space. After cycling in the scorching sun, the cool breeze from the air conditioner and the chilled water feel wonderful on my body . After ordering, I waited for about five minutes , and finally, the long-awaited somen noodles arrived. I ordered the simplest chilled somen noodles, a large size, for the exceptional price of 700 yen. Look, these somen noodles are so pretty! And the bowl they’re served in is also glass, adding to the cool atmosphere. Now, let’s enjoy the long-awaited authentic Shodoshima chilled somen noodles . I scoop up the beautiful noodles and, just like the somen noodles, dive into the simple noodle soup. The sight is as beautiful as a diving athlete’s. First, the simplest somen noodles. Enjoying this, we continued by adding the condiments and then dove the somen into the noodle soup again. It went down smoothly and was simple, but so delicious that you’ll want to eat it again and again. Mmm, it was the best . In no time, I finished it all. Thank you for the meal. This summer, I’ve been wanting to eat Shodoshima somen for a long time, so to be honest, the bar was quite high , but it easily surpassed my expectations and was so delicious that it made me want to come back next year . So, after paying the bill , I left the restaurant. I still had a little time before my next appointment, so I decided to stroll around the island and head back to Tonosho Port. The boat trip from Shodoshima to our next destination will be in the next video, so please look forward to it. This concludes this boat trip for today. Every Friday on this channel, I post videos that introduce the charm of slightly unusual travel, mainly cruises, so if you like them, I would be very happy if you could subscribe to my channel, rate them highly , and leave a comment. Well then, I’ll see you in the next video . Thank you for watching until the end.
