【日本一細長い佐田岬半島 高茂自然の庭, 愛媛 四国】Natural Garden in Sadamisaki, Japan’s longest and narrowest peninsula
Hello, we are Life in Shikoku. We go to see the natural garden and scenery on Sadamisaki Peninsula in Ehime Prefecture. We’ve come to Sadamisaki Peninsula, which is the longest and narrowest peninsula in Japan. The most part of the about 50 km long peninsula belongs to Ikata Town. To the “Natural Garden” in the Komo district, located in the central part of the peninsula. This is a private garden open to the public, left in its natural state. The large hibiscus flowers are beautiful. Around the entrance, gaura, cosmos, and golden lace are blooming. Gaura lindheimeri Argentine senna (Senna corymbosa): bearing many lovely yellow flowers. Let’s take a stroll through the inner part of the garden. Persian silk tree (Albizia julibrissin) Harlequin glorybower (Clerodendrum trichotomum) Orange daylily (Hemerocallis fulva var. longituba) Small, lovely flowers. White rain lily (Zephyranthes candida) Japanese Spiraea (Spiraea japonica) Many fragrant white ginger lilies are blooming. Scenery that gives a feeling of autumn. Vivid phlox flowers. Summer muscari (Liriope muscari) Maybe ‘Paeonia obovata Maxim.’ We take a break at the gazebo. A varied tit is so cute. View from above. The owner treated us to tea and ice cream. Thank you! Let’s leave the natural garden. The view from nearby Mukai Park. Uwa Sea is beautiful. We go to another spot with a great view. Sadamisaki Peninsula has no landmass blocking the northwest winds, making it ideal for wind power generation. Wind turbines stand densely along the peninsula’s ridgeline, creating a distinctive landscape. Arrived at Setokaze no Oka Park. Let’s walk to the observation deck. From Seto Inland Sea on the left, the view stretches to the base of the peninsula and Uwa Sea on the right. We can see as far as the islands and coastlines of Yawatahama City, Seiyo City, and Uwajima City. Go back to the parking lot. There are many lovely flowers blooming here too. こんにちは Life in Shikoku です。愛媛県の佐田岬半島に、自然の庭や風景を見に行きました。佐田岬半島は、四国最西端に約50㎞にわたって突き出している、日本一細長い半島です。半島の大半が、伊方町に属しています。
半島中央部にある、高茂地区の「自然の庭」を訪れました。個人の方が、一般に解放されている、自然のままの庭です。ガウラやコスモス、オミナエシ、その他の小さな可愛い花たちに癒されました。ご在宅だった庭のオーナーさんに、お茶とアイスを頂きました。
その後、佐田岬半島の特徴的な、風車が林立する道を通って、「せと風の丘パーク」へ。瀬戸内海から半島を隔てて、宇和海までを眺望できます。半島両側の美しい風景を見ることが出来ました。この風景を、一緒に楽しんで頂けたら嬉しいです。
Hello, we are Life in Shikoku. we went to see the natural garden and scenery on Sadamisaki Peninsula in Ehime Prefecture. Sadamisaki Peninsula is Japan’s longest and narrowest peninsula, jutting out about 50 km toward the westernmost point of Shikoku. Most of the peninsula belongs to Ikata Town.
We visited the “Natural Garden” in the Komo district, located in the central part of the peninsula. It’s a private garden open to the public, left in its natural state. We were soothed by the gaura, cosmos, golden lace, and other small, lovely flowers. The garden owner, who was at home, kindly offered us tea and ice cream.
After that, we drove along the distinctive road lined with wind turbines to Setokaze no Oka Park. From the park’s observation deck, we could see all the way from the Seto Inland Sea to the base of the peninsula and then to the Uwa Sea. We were able to enjoy the beautiful scenery on both sides of the peninsula. We would be happy if you could enjoy this scenery with us.
