誰も知らない大失敗した謎の巨大ゴーストタウンに行ってみたら凄すぎました・・・

Hanoi, Vietnam. Its population is approximately 8 million. Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam and the political and cultural center of the country, located in northern Vietnam . Many buildings and cultural heritage sites from the French colonial era remain. The Gongwai area, adjacent to the eastern part of Hanoi, boasts a landscape unlike any other Vietnamese cityscape, and is home to large-scale commercial developments . However, the town has become a ghost town and is currently being converted into a residential area . This time, I visited a new town built by one of Vietnam’s largest companies and observed its current state. Please watch until the end. Thank you for watching. Today is September 14, 2025. I am currently in Hanoi, Vietnam. As I mentioned at the beginning, I decided to visit a ghost town in Hanoi, Vietnam, so I came all the way here. I came from Xiaozhou, China , and didn’t film any scenes there. However, I thought there might be ghost towns in Vietnam, so I decided to check it out. This ghost town is called Mega Grand World Hanoi, and it’s in Shanghai, China. For example, there are towns based on the area around the River Tran in England, or Venetian Town in Osaka , or Paris in Koshu, France, and similar concepts. Hanoi is also running a town based on Venice, Italy. It’s a recreation of the streets of Italy and Korea, and it’s a town or area where people actually live. It’s not very popular, so I don’t think many Japanese people go there, but it’s a bit far away. It’s hard to tell how out of touch people are. There might actually be a lot of people there. It’s Sunday, though. Yes. I think people like that sort of thing, so I wanted to take a look, so I’m leaving the hotel now. I ‘ve already grabbed my Grab and will head there. So, from Ishiuchi, it took about 340 minutes to arrive. So, this is , uh, a place called Mega Grand City, on the outskirts of Ishikawa. Yes. Um, there’s commercial facilities and, as I said earlier, a town modeled after Italy, Venice, and Korea. I think this is the entrance. Ah, it certainly does have a Venetian feel. I’ve never been to Venice, but I guess it’s Italian. It’s pretty rundown. That’s how it felt from the moment I arrived, so I ‘m going to walk around the town and see what it’s like. I guess this is the Italian area. Ah, we’re already at Akiya. They’ve built something amazing around here . I wonder why they did this. Um, the town, I think this is probably a bit populated, well, it’s all populated, but I’d like to see the shops later, and there are some residential areas, so I’d like to see those. It’s so big. It’s incredibly big. This is Akiya, too. There are people walking around here and there. It does have a bit of a residential feel. This area is nice. The Venice City in Osaka also had a gondola. It says “water taxi.” I’m sure they charge for it, but that’s only natural. Despite the Italian motif, there’s a Vietnamese, militarized vibe floating around, and the mismatch is irresistible. I went a little further from the street I was on and walked through that very rundown-looking area , which is incredibly spacious. There’s nothing but Akiya. I think the houses around here are probably for sale. But there’s even Hangul writing. Oh, this is insane. It might be in a previous location. The rustiness. They’re all Akiya. The entire street, in one straight line. It ‘s amazing. There’s a car parked there, but I wonder if people live there? There are trees, though. This is amazing. An announcement to everyone: I’ll be appearing in a Sakura Invest webinar on September 30, 2013, starting at 8:00 PM . Participation in this limited-time stream is completely free for everyone. I’ll share stories I couldn’t tell on YouTube and answer your questions. Please join us! To apply, please see the details. We appreciate your participation. This is insane. The scale of this place is pretty impressive. There’s nothing there but empty shops. It’s just a building. The scale is insane. You see, there’s this cart thing going around, and a guy just called out to me. He was nice , asking if it was okay and if he could help . Vietnamese people are so serious it’s no laughing matter. These boxy, planned cities usually fail. Look. They’re all Akiya. All of them. There’s so little traffic, you could walk down the middle of the street without any problems. This is insane. If you look closely, you can see some open windows, so maybe people live upstairs. A few people. But as you can see, it’s Akiya. The inside is practically empty, or more like an empty shell. All the shutters are closed. The building seems to have some kind of European feel, or maybe it’s Italian. It’s amazing. Ah, but there are some places that are lit up. This could be used as a movie set, or something . I ‘ve been introducing a few episodes of the Ghost Town series, and I’ve seen a lot of comments in the comments section saying it could be used in a segment for the TV show “Run for Money” or as a movie set. They’re right. This is quite impactful. You probably didn’t know this, did you? Who knew there was a ghost town in Hanoi, Vietnam ? I wonder if it’s run by Chinese capital? Oh, but maybe it’s run by Koreans because of that Korean thing? There’s not even a cafe. That first Venice-like place might have been the most prosperous. I wonder how the people living in a place like that feel. Mega Grand World Hanoi is a massive 18.7-hectare commercial complex developed by Vietnam’s largest company, Vingroup, at the head of Hanoi. It was expected to become a tourist destination with themed areas reminiscent of Venice, Italy, and the Palawan Islands, but now it’s increasingly being described as a ghost town. The reason for this is that the area was developed primarily for investors rather than for commercial purposes, and many of the commercial spaces sold remain empty and defunct. Further issues include its distance from central Hanoi, poor access by public transportation, and the lack of urban development in the surrounding area, which are said to contribute to the low number of visitors. There are a few shops around here . Right in front of me, there’s a sign that says Ocean Coffee. It’s a coffee shop. This is the shop that Moon is talking about. There’s nothing Italian about it. It’s Moon, known as the Vietnamese equivalent of tsukemen. It would be interesting if the coffee shop at least had an Italian feel. It’s amazing. There are empty shops all the way to the back. Yes, it’s amazing. It might be the scale. This place surpasses China’s ghost towns in terms of size. But there’s a strange sense of security. Everyone’s smiling and talking to you when you walk around, unlike in China. Yeah. Well, Chinese people aren’t so bad, either. There’s nothing wrong with it, but I do feel a bit scared that I’m being watched. It’s bad. This, this, all of these are bad. Not a single store is included. Amazing. Everything is amazing. This is a rare video. I’m glad I came . I feel like it’s going to get a lot of views. Amazing. Amazing. How far back is this. There was only one coffee shop open earlier , but all the other coffee shops are closed. Oh, you get in a cart like that . I guess they charge for delivery. Well, I’ll walk for a bit. The coffee shops are closed too. This is bad. I wonder if London Cafe is open here ? It’s not even Italy anymore. It’s getting more and more. Oh, it’s closed. It’s closed. I didn’t realize so much was empty. This is a bit of a loss for words. I’m a bit tired. I’d like to go to a cafe. Up ahead, there’s a town based on Milano and another based on Korea, which are probably also very large, but let’s take a break and go see them. This place is truly a ghost town, so the term “ghost town” really fits . In the middle of this ghost town, there’s this beautiful, large shopping mall. It ‘s called Mega Grand Mall. I think you could live with a shopping mall. It’s part of this shopping mall chain. Oh, I didn’t know that. That gives me a sense of security. With Aeon inside . But I don’t think Aeon is stupid. I wonder why they built this shopping mall in a place like this. I guess they thought it would be a success with investment . It looks like this, but right in front of the shopping mall is deserted. There aren’t even any stores. Oh, there are a few people around here. Is everyone heading to the shopping mall because it’s so hot? Shall we go inside for a bit? Over there , you see, is Venetian Town. And across the street, at the back of the shopping mall, is Koreatown. This is it. Megar has a sudden Bangkok feel to it. It looks like a Thai shopping mall. Chinese shopping malls are huge and impressive, too. But they’re just different. I prefer Thai-style shopping malls. Yes. It says Samurai. Shall we go into the mall for a bit? Is it lunchtime already? Oh, it’s super cool. There are so many people here. It’s thriving, thriving. It feels like a national shopping mall. I won’t go in and check it out this time, but there’s an Aeon on the second floor. There’s a massage parlor there, and Highland Coffee, and stuff. That’s about it. It’s enough. I feel a bit relieved. I think I could make a living here. If it’s this big, the cafes would be stylish too. Min Coffee. Let’s go to Highland Coffee, located in the Italian Town area of Venice Town. Speaking of Vietnam, Highland Coffee is the place to be, so the man silently ordered one. A large iced coffee was 79,000 VND. I calculated it, and it came to 441 yen. That’s reasonable, I guess. Yeah. It’s a little cheaper than Japan. Prices have gone up in Vietnam, too. It’s really hot outside today. Hey, I need to take a break or I might get heatstroke. It’s cold. But I think it’s cooler. It’s a little hot today, though. It’s been a while since I’ve had Highland Coffee. Oh, they opened one in Korea too? I feel like I’ve seen it somewhere. It’s like a Vietnamese Starbucks. They have a Starbucks, too, but I personally prefer this Thai Coffee. It’s delicious. Vietnamese coffee is strong, so that’s nice. They often have sweet ones , but this is just a bonus. Now that I’ve had a little rest, I wonder if Venice Town’s Italian Town is okay? Let’s take a look around there. So, this is the water taxi gondola station I first passed. The gondola costs 1.15 million dong. Yes. It’s worth a ride for about 1,000 yen. It’s Sunday afternoon, but it’s pretty empty. At first glance, you might not feel like you’re in Vietnam. If you just take a photo of this moment, it seems like a good place for people who don’t like crowds. There’s nothing here, but it’s closed. This street is also crazy. It’s amazing. It’s amazing. It’s like walking through a movie set. I shouldn’t laugh, but it works . Every once in a while, there are people walking around. Well, they’re not tourists , but maybe shop staff. I sometimes see mothers with kids , but I guess it’s their day off and they want to go out. This is a barbecue restaurant. I wonder if it’s open? It looks like it might be. The lights aren’t on yet, though. Oh, they have sushi too. It says sushi. A lot of Vietnamese people, er, technical intern trainees, are coming to Japan , aren’t they? And apparently sushi is popular. They came to Vietnam after studying sushi for about a year, and apparently, they’re doing quite well, selling sushi-like items. This is amazing. Those buildings in the back, I think, are probably tenants and houses. The houses, maybe not houses? They’re all empty . This one feels the same as the one I saw earlier . Are they the type where the lower floors can be turned into houses on the upper floors? They’re all empty. It’s Italian Town, but it’s completely deserted . It’s a massive ghost town. It’s the most spectacular I’ve ever seen. The square around here is relatively quiet, though not overly crowded. I wonder if it’s because they’re modeled after a water city, so there are a lot of Wang Xing-type stores? This area resembles that Parisian ghost town in Koshu. The design feels somewhat Chinese. I don’t think a Japanese company would do something like this. Oh, it seems like some of the upper floors have been turned into hotels. People stop by coffee shops. There’s nothing Italian-style, like pizza places or gelato. Right now, there’s sushi, buns, banh mi, and the like. Oh, but it says “pizza” over there. It’s closed. Nano Fus Pizza, a Japanese-owned chain that’s hugely popular in Vietnam and expanding globally, isn’t there either. It seems like it should be around here, but it isn’t. There’s a pizza place, but it’s closed. It’s more like a hamburger than pizza. It says “China.” Chinese hamburgers. This is no good. Right in front of Venice Town, they’re building a huge apartment building, or condominium. They’re trying to attract more and more people. They’ve built four in total, and they’re huge. I wonder if they’ll sell? Will they attract people ? In a place full of oak houses like this. Let’s leave Venice Town behind and head over to Koreatown next door . Um, this side. On the other side of this road is Koreatown. It says KGS, an international school, so I guess it’s the kind of school Koreans probably go to. There are a ton of Vietnamese kids living around here, and Koreans, well, there are a lot of Korean residents. Historically, they outnumber Japanese. This is Italian Town. This is Koreatown. This fork marks the beginning of this road. It’s written there, of course . It says Korea Global School. So it’s called KGS. It’s interesting, isn’t it? This road has a completely different worldview. We’re about to enter hardcore Korean town. Ah, here we are. K-Town. It’s almost lunchtime, so I’d like something to eat. Maybe a solid meal would be okay. It’s not much different from Venturetown. It’s deserted. In fact, there are fewer people here, giving it a gloomy impression. This side is the same. There are a lot of mun-no stores . They’re open here. Oh, this is the first time I’ve seen Japanese this time. It says A’s Store. What kind of store is this? It’s not A’s store. It’s A’s house. Oh, this is also the Golden Korean Mart. There’s a lot more Japanese around when I come to Koreatown. It’s pretty sad. There’s music playing so it still looks Korean, but there’s no one there. There’s also Kotobukiya. It’s not Korean, though. They have ramen. It’s written in Japanese. A bowl of rice is 79,000 dong. Oh, there’s a Japanese-style set meal restaurant. This place is also in Japanese. Delicious chicken. Even though it’s Koreatown. I think this is Koreatown’s main square. It’s nice. I’ve said many times how empty it is, but it’s Sunday afternoon . There are people who look like Korean families taking pictures . K-Town. There’s also a Lotteria. Oh, it’s starting to rain a bit. Oh, is this the Bon [__] chain that’s often found in Korea? That Korean restaurant. They’re commonly found in places like Ta, and I think they might also be in the Vietnamese part of town. Around here, that house is. It’s completely become a small house. So I guess there are people who actually live there. So, this is Akiya. It’s totally Akiya. I wonder if no one will buy it? There are a lot of these houses. This one is Akiya too. They’re probably all Akiya. Some are used as homes and some have been turned into cafes . Ako Cafe is open. On the other side, there are a few ssamfish and pu-sal restaurants and some other hotpot places. There are some Korean restaurants, too. I think this whole area is Akiya too. Places that used to be bakeries and bakeries have now become Akiya, and I thought there were a lot of bakeries, but not a single one is open. This one is a steak restaurant. Ah, they’re all Akiya too. It’s tough. There aren’t many Koreans here either. There’s a Japanese village called J-Town in Bangkok, and it ‘s pretty crowded with people eating things like white cheese. There are Japanese people there, but a lot of them are foreigners, and they go to Don Quijote or eat conveyor belt sushi. But I don’t really think that “something town” type places are formed arbitrarily. I went to Africa Town the other day , and places like Chinatown, which were formed by Chinese people gathering there, are quite crowded, but I don’t think they’re very successful because of the population. This is just my personal opinion. But places like Japantown or J-Town seem to be quite crowded. I think Japan has a strong appeal. The food is delicious, too. If something like this is artificially created, it will quickly become deserted. I’m sure it is. I thought about getting something Korean-style, but oh, it’s so hot I’m starting to feel sick, and I’m not really hungry . I just had coffee. Do you have something cold, like an ice cream or a shake ? The shops are closed. I ‘m out of options. If it keeps going like this, it’ll probably end up like a Lotteria. Well, that’s about it. I felt like I’d just walked around the entire area, but this time was quite a sight to behold. Yes, I’m back. Well, if I went further, there were residential buildings in the back, but Koreatown is a little smaller. It’s Milan, but not Milan. Venetian Town felt more like it. When it started raining, there was no one there. Not a single person . It was all to myself. Well, that’s how it is, I guess . But I still think I saw something great. I wonder if a lot of people don’t know about this kind of thing? I didn’t know either. You can wander around here and do little things. It’s like borrowing traditional Korean or Korean costumes to dress up in this town. Let’s go to a cafe on the Koreatown side one last time. Oh, there ‘s this one open. They have food and jjajangmyeon. Let’s go to a cafe. Is Kong Cafe okay? I thought it might be a Korean cafe, but I was wrong. It’s a stylish Vietnamese cafe with a Vietnamese Asian feel. Also, at cafes like this, and most restaurants, although it might be a bit different for food stalls, it’s really convenient that you can use credit cards in Vietnam. And they also accept AX. I’ve been using AMX exclusively this time, and it works everywhere. Yes. In Vietnam, as you know , except for luxury hotels and big shopping malls, you can only use Visa or MasterCard, but in Vietnam, you can use any card. It’s so convenient. Yes. So, this time I ordered a coconut frappe coffee . I feel like I’ve seen this coffee shop in town before. It’s probably a chain. Yes . I’ll have a quick drink and it’s raining outside, so I’ll head home. Let’s eat. Oh, it’s delicious. Yes. All of this came to 69,000 dong. It’s cheaper than the Highland Coffee I had earlier. Highland Coffee is probably on the pricey side, isn’t it? Yes. This is coconut ice cream. Delicious. Oh, it cools me down instantly, it’s great. So, that’s about it for today. I visited Mega Grand World Hanoi, a ghost town in Hanoi, Vietnam. It’s modeled after a Korean town and the Italian city of Venice, but given its current state, I don’t think many Japanese people visit. It’s a bit far. Yeah. It’s about 30 or 40 kilometers from the city center, so it’s not that easy to get there. On average, it takes a long time , and if there weren’t many things to see, I wouldn’t choose it . I ‘ve written quite a bit about ghost towns in China, and I found one in Vietnam, too. So, I visited this time, and it was like this. It’s interesting for casual strolling, so if you’re interested, please check it out. Also, if you’d like, please leave a comment about your impressions of this video, and also give it a high rating. Well, if you have any other information about this kind of ghost town, I’d be happy if you could write it in the comments. Well, I’d like to wrap it up for now. Thank you for watching.

  4. MegaGrandWorldHanoi…
