【ホテルザ三井京都ラグジュアリーコレクション】2025年最新宿泊レビュー!ルームツアー&貸切温泉&フレンチ都季まで全て見せます

Hello, everyone! Forbes Travel Guide
has awarded us its highest rating, five stars, for four consecutive years. Japan’s highest-ranked luxury hotel
Hotel The Mitsui Kyoto. Since opening in November 2020, it has received excellent reviews
and has been a hotel I’ve long wished to stay at.

At TOKI, helmed by Chef Tetsuya Asano, who was selected as Japan’s representative for the 2027 “Bocuse d’Or International Culinary Competition,”
we enjoyed a course meal. Please look forward to it. In the latter half of the video,
・A popular izakaya near Nijo Castle
・A bar inside Hotel The Mitsui
・Private hot springs and matcha experiences
Art tours and more will be featured. By the way, how much did this stay cost?
We’ll reveal the price at the end,
so watch while imagining the cost! Plus, as an overall review, we’ll share our honest, unfiltered impressions
after staying there, so please watch until the very end! We’ve arrived The first thing you see is the Kaji-no-miya Gate.
It’s a registered tangible cultural property built in 1703. This historic gate, passed down by the Mitsui family,
has been restored as the hotel’s main entrance. Passing through the gate feels like entering another world. The entrance has a relatively low ceiling,
but stepping into the lobby creates an immediate sense of openness. This space was designed by
André Fu. A beautiful courtyard spreads out before you,
with trees reflected in the water basin creating a fantastical scene. A meticulously crafted space
involving eight designers. The hotel is designed
with the garden as its focal point. We’re in the middle of the video,
but here’s an announcement! In three weeks, on Saturday at 6 PM, I’ll release a video of my stay at a ryokan in Kurokawa, Kumamoto, which boasts 12 different types of hot springs! Plus, using the hot spring pass,
I also visited 6 other hot springs, so be sure to watch! If you’re interested, don’t miss out!
Please subscribe and give us a thumbs up! As our subscriber count grows,
negotiations like
“Can we film other rooms too?” or
“Could you offer exclusive deals for viewers?” I believe we’ll be able to give back more to everyone
so thank you for your support! Alright, let’s get back to the main show and start the room tour
A staff member dressed in a kimono guided us Let’s go inside.
Today’s room is the “Nijo Room.” The moment you open the guest room door, you’re greeted by sunlight and the warmth of wood. Upon entering the room, the view outside the window… is none other than the World Heritage site, Nijo Castle. The large king-size bed
has even more presence in person than in photos. It feels like sleeping on a cloud The intercom beside the bed
has a lovely modern feel
31
00:03:30,936 –> 00:03:35,896
The light switches feature a stylish design. BOSE Bluetooth speaker.
It also has a convenient accessory tray. Light switches are conveniently located on both ends. A matcha-scented lip balm sits by the bedside
adding a playful Japanese touch These little gifts really make you happy. The living space features a large LCD TV You can check restaurant and spa information on the TV
I thought it would be even more convenient if you could make reservations via the TV The interior features a unified color scheme. Incidentally, they deliberately left gaps here
to make the room feel more spacious. The indirect lighting on the ceiling also creates
a calm atmosphere. The light streaming in through the window is pleasant. There are three types of hangers,
and plenty of them, so it’s reassuring even for family stays. The bathroom features my favorite double sinks.
The stone finish gives it a luxurious feel. The body lotion had a very pleasant scent. Amenities were plentiful too.
The wood-grain finish fits the hotel’s atmosphere. The spacious bathtub
is so large that two people can comfortably fit inside. It even comes with a bath pillow for a comfortable soaking experience. Above your head is a large rain shower head with a diameter of 30 centimeters. The bath amenities are a special line created exclusively for the hotel
through a collaboration between Parfums Satori and La Bottega.
50
00:08:31,000 –> 00:08:34,843
Even bath salts in small jars are provided
for a luxurious bathing experience. You can switch the shower settings with a button. Ceramic art is also displayed in the bathroom. The table is made from a single piece of wood, giving it a warm feel. Power outlets are also provided.
You can work on your computer. There was also a letter set.
The pencils were carefully sharpened with uniform length and tips. Three types of welcome sweets.
It was a nice touch to have Kyoto sweets available. The matcha flavor was rich and delicious. This is the minibar. The mineral water has no unnecessary decoration
and comes in lovely packaging. There was also a teapot set. Green tea and roasted green tea
I love tea, so I was happy to see two kinds TWG tea and coffee
It was a luxury to be able to choose whichever cup I wanted depending on my mood The top drawer held glasses and
mini bottles of liquor. Kyoto sweets were here too.
65
00:11:11,233 –> 00:11:20,666
The Kyoto-style packaging is adorable. Please note that these are chargeable. Stirrers and wine openers are also available. In the bottom drawer, there’s a DeLonghi kettle The adjacent drawer is a refrigerator Drinks include champagne, wine, beer,
and a wide selection of soft drinks. In the entranceway, there is a shoe rack
designed with a traditional Japanese carrying basket motif. The large windows and lack of obstructions to sunlight
make the room incredibly bright and pleasant. The brush also has a substantial feel
and is very elegant. Oh, there’s something here… It seems you can get a free shoe polishing service.
I tried it, so I’ll show you the before and after later. The restrooms feature simple Japanese-style fixtures,
with no unnecessary decorations, emphasizing a clean feel. Now, next we head to the
private hot spring on the basement floor. The private hot spring is a paid facility
available only to guests staying overnight. Its design is completely different from the lobby and guest room corridors,
giving you the feeling of entering a different place. True to its reputation as a hotel designed by eight designers,
it’s nice to be able to enjoy spaces with various designs. As we walked, the atmosphere changed dramatically again.
It evokes the Senbon Torii of Fushimi Inari. The illuminated torii gates are incredibly fantastical. We’re almost there. Passing through the torii of light,
there was a shop. More like an art exhibition than a shop.
It matches the space perfectly and is quite stylish. There are two private hot spring rooms: HARU and IZUMI.
This time, we’ll be visiting HARU. Wow! The lights along the wall reflect off the wood
adding a warm feeling. The card key features a sumi-e ink painting design
and has a lovely Kyoto-esque charm. On the table: a damp towel, mandarin oranges, strawberries,
macarons, and a selection of teas. The tea is TWG, a staple in luxury hotels. The strawberries were so fresh they seemed freshly picked
and shone like jewels. When it’s this beautiful,
it feels like a waste to eat it lol By the way, this HARU
is apparently a whopping 100 square meters. There are three outlets next to the table
One is for international plugs, right? Next, let’s take a look at the refrigerator All of these are free drinks. Peach juice, Pepsi Cola,
yuzu cider, plum cider, and water. These are ciders made with Kyoto yuzu and
Wakayama Kishu plums. Carbonated drinks after the hot springs are the best, right? Between the living room and the hot spring is a rest room
You can relax while looking at the garden Water is also provided here. You can relax wearing a bathrobe.
It’s a luxurious experience, isn’t it? With this switch, you can connect via Bluetooth!
The speakers are built into the room, so the sound was beautiful! The staff thoroughly explained how to operate it. The hot spring is very spacious, so two adults can relax comfortably. The washroom connects directly from the front of the hot spring. You can see the garden from the hot spring and feel the essence of Kyoto. Since we were there, we enjoyed sweets and cider while soaking in the hot spring. This is the shower room and mist sauna. The mist sauna switch is inside.
The staff kindly explained how to operate it. Since it takes time to warm up,
I think it’s better to set up the mist sauna first! There was a washing area at the back of the hot spring.
It’s nice that there’s space for two people to use. The shower was a bit tricky to use… There are plenty of towels provided for everyone. Under the closet, there was a hairdryer and a safe. The powder room has a double sink.
It has a luxurious color scheme. There was even a straightening iron…
A welcome item for both men and women. There were even two hair dryers!
Both were Panasonic models. The airflow was powerful and dried my hair quickly! Amenities are stored in the drawer.
Everything you need is provided. Cleanser, toner, moisturizer
Body lotion, hand soap
The whole set was there. The toilet is at the back of the powder room
It’s a spacious area. After relaxing in the hot springs, we moved on to the tea ceremony experience. First, we had the tea accompaniments.
We were served delicious sakura mochi. The movements are so polite and beautiful.
It’s wonderful to have it demonstrated right in front of us! They also teach you the details of how to prepare the tea,
so it was very educational. Don’t worry if you don’t know tea ceremony etiquette!
The staff will explain everything to you. To the hotel’s main dining room, “TOKI” At the counter seats, you can watch your meal being prepared right before your eyes.
It’s nice to enjoy your meal while looking out at the garden. The table in the left corner has floor-to-ceiling windows
and feels very open and spacious. Looking at the menu, you can see they use
seasonal ingredients from each region. On the right, the chef’s dedication to his craft and
the story behind it are written, making my heart race with anticipation. To start, Bollinger champagne. We were introduced to the seasonal vegetables used today.
You can see they’re vibrant, juicy, and fresh. A snack with radish butter. A spring-like dish using beans and herbs Accompanied by a broth made with Fushimizu water
A clear, beautiful color Next is a firefly squid snack
Just in season as the fishing season has just opened (at the time of filming) Served with a mixture of bamboo shoots and cucumber
Offering a delightful texture Next is the Nanatani duck snack With the three snacks finished,
we’ll enjoy a 2023 vintage wine from Kyoto’s Tanba region. Marinated Kotoura salmon in Saikyo miso Plus marinated turnips, salmon, and salmon roe
This jelly had a perfect thickness and was incredibly delicious. The turnip, salmon, and salmon roe pair perfectly.
The salmon roe pops in your mouth, giving it a delightful texture. A nigori sake called “Ine Mankai,” blended from ancient rice and white rice.
A sake with a purplish hue and a thick texture. To accompany the nigori sake
is a dish of sake lees and foie gras from Mukai Shuzo. The colors of the sake and dishes complement each other
creating a unified harmony. A white wine made with Pinot Gris
Offers a refreshing finish after richer dishes. Kyoto Tamba shiitake mushrooms sautéed in butter
topped with a sauce made from simmering a whole guinea fowl enhances the umami flavor of the shiitake mushrooms. The shiitake mushrooms are thick and juicy,
almost like meat. I had water as a chaser.
It’s called Fushimizu, apparently water well-suited for sake brewing. It had a slightly viscous texture. This is Evian sparkling water.
I was surprised to learn Evian had sparkling water. After rinsing my palate with water,
Beringer white wine. A rich and creamy flavor. A salad featuring new onions
with lily root underneath. The umami of the new onions and the
fluffy texture of the lily root are delightful. Bread served with sake lees butter. After the bread, we’ll have Spanish mackerel. The Spanish mackerel, cooked to 80% doneness,
has a deeply concentrated umami flavor. I’ll have white wine with the Spanish mackerel. A pale golden, long-aged wine
goes well with grilled dishes. Next, a Burgundy wine
My favorite medium-bodied Its wine-red hue, not too deep, is beautiful Next is the long-awaited meat.
I’m glad it’s paired with red wine. Nanatsudani duck with pecorino sauce We’re also indulging in luxurious domestic Japanese Black beef The Nanatani duck is refreshingly mild with no gamey flavor. The meat’s fat isn’t cloying
and doesn’t overpower the sauce. It’s a French dessert called “Rioré”
made with rice. The last item served is a baked dessert.
You can enjoy it freshly baked. A dessert featuring lightly oven-roasted strawberries It was like an adult version of strawberry milk. Tea and baked goods.
It was a thoroughly satisfying course from start to finish. After the meal, we took a stroll through the lounge.
Books and antiques are displayed, offering visual enjoyment as well. The chairs and sofas are not overly flashy
and create a calm atmosphere. The ceiling is very high, creating a sense of openness. The art also shows a different side from daytime. The illuminated monument at the entrance is also beautiful. The atmosphere of Hotel The Mitsui seen from the garden
is truly wonderful. To an izakaya near the hotel
“Satsujisho” – a restaurant with a Tabelog rating of 3.58 Salt-seared yellowtail
The skin was grilled and had a delicious aroma Monkfish liver with ponzu sauce
A perfect balance of richness and lightness. Assorted appetizers and vegetables (4 kinds)
Elegantly seasoned, perfect with sake. Yellowtail and flower wasabi salad
Rich and fatty, it was incredibly delicious. Finally, we headed to “THE GARDEN BAR”. The lighting creates a lovely atmosphere. First, beer.
You can enjoy drinks while looking at the illuminated garden. Next up: Talisker 10 Year Old and Sakurao Limited with tonic.
What a wonderful experience! To the room after turndown service Pajamas were prepared
Soft and incredibly comfortable to wear. Off to the breakfast venue, “FORNI”. The atmosphere is different from the evening.
The warm colors create a calming atmosphere. Breakfast offers four choices. This time, we selected the “Japanese Breakfast” and
the “American Breakfast”. Colorful dishes are arranged in small bowls. Here is the Japanese breakfast lineup. If you choose Western-style, you can pick whatever you like from the buffet.
Let’s go take a look!♪ Now, the main Western dish is French toast. It was the most delicious I’ve ever had in my life. Typical French toast
is made by soaking bread in egg mixture with sugar and then browning it, but this one seems to be dusted with powdered sugar and
seared on the surface with a blowtorch. The eggs soak in deeply, and just looking at it
you can tell it’s going to be chewy. The moment you put it in your mouth, the outside is crispy
and the inside is moist and chewy. Also, it wasn’t captured in the video,
but there’s custard inside the bread. It was amazing. Next up is the thermal spring. But first, let’s check out
the shop we passed on the way. Alright, we’ve arrived at the lockers.
Lock them with a 4-digit number you choose yourself. Security is top-notch, so you can relax. The changing room is spacious enough to stretch out both arms.
It’s a very roomy space. The walls and doors are all made of wood, giving it a clean look
while also providing a warm, woody feel. The Kado air purifier
is stylish and matches the space. Water and chilled towels are always available. This is the changing locker room. Hold the band you received at the Thermal Spring reception
to open the locker. It’s tall and narrow, so it should fit backpacks and other luggage. This is the women’s swimsuit
we received at the reception. There are three shower rooms. Wow!
It’s mystical, like a cave bath. The light flickering within the hot spring
is utterly fantastical. Since no one else was there at that time
my husband and I were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. You can call directly to check the thermal spring’s occupancy level
so it’s recommended for those wanting to avoid crowds. The mist-like hot spring water pours down from the ceiling
and comes out about every 15 minutes. The wall had information about the hot spring’s mineral composition. This is the makeup area, right? Opening the drawer reveals
a Panasonic Nano Care hair dryer The amenities are this well-stocked. Hairbrush, toothbrush,
cotton pads, hairband Modenica Hair Styling Spray
AG Deo24 Deodorant Spray Here we have toner and moisturizer
along with body lotion Hand soap and
cleansing products are also provided. Here we have N Hair Milk Next, we came to the gym
on the same basement floor as the thermal spring. Cold water, room-temperature water, and bananas were always available.
It would be even better if they had protein. To learn more about the hotel’s history and art,
we joined a 45-minute art tour. This peach decoration is also displayed above the Kajii Palace Gate
and is said to ward off evil spirits. This is a lacquer and mother-of-pearl inlay artwork
Personally, I felt the design evoked planets and the universe. What did this piece make you think of?
If you’d like, please share your thoughts in the comments! ♪ During the art tour, we didn’t just explore the building
but also strolled through the garden, the hotel’s main feature. You can see the garden from various places like the lounge, breakfast and dinner areas, The view changes depending on where you look from,
which is also quite interesting. This bridge is interesting. Apparently, it was deliberately
built at an angle. At the back of the garden stands the “Four Seasons Room,” a building constructed of cypress wood.
It was once the place where the former Mitsui family entertained their guests. By the way, have you noticed anything
while watching the video here? Actually, this fusuma painting is paired with the card key.
It’s said to depict the four seasons of the hotel’s garden. Unfortunately, it coincided with a repair period
so I couldn’t capture the entire thing… And here is the logo for Hotel The Mitsui Kyoto.
Actually, the horizontal bar in the middle is the kanji character“一” (ichi). Finally, I’ll share the cost for this stay and my
honest impressions. The defining features of HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO are
its historic location connected to the Mitsui family and utilizing natural hot springs that spring from the ground below.
Thermal Spring SPA Furthermore, it has received
the highest rating of 5 stars from Forbes Travel Guide for four consecutive years. It is a highly regarded hotel. The Nijō Room we stayed in
was a luxurious 50-square-meter space overlooking Nijō Castle.
253
00:56:57,366 –> 00:57:05,350
The innovative Kyoto French cuisine for dinner
features revolutionary dishes where Kyoto water-based dashi broth takes center stage. For breakfast, while gazing at the garden,
I savored the most delicious French toast of my life. At such a top-tier luxury hotel in Japan,
just how much did one night for two people cost? The correct answer is… Approximately 330,000 yen! This time, we used points from the Marriott Bonvoy card,
so the stay itself was free. Now, here are my impressions after actually staying there. What stood out most was
the exceptional thoughtfulness of the staff. At the thermal spring, they laid out a long towel for us to sit on. The elevator buttons were stylish and
positioned so they could be pressed even by wheelchair users. I felt their hospitality
extended to every detail. As for areas for improvement,
I have no complaints about the hotel itself, The 60-minute time limit for the private hot spring
felt quite short. We ended up extending it to 90 minutes,
so I recommend 90 or 120 minutes for those who want to relax. By the way, there’s also a plan that combines breakfast and the private hot spring
into one set. I think 120 minutes for breakfast and the hot spring would be rushed,
so it might be better to use them separately. Regarding the trip as a whole, I had no complaints
and overall enjoyed the highest level of service and experience. If you’re interested in staying at this hotel, I’ve included a link to the booking site in the description,
so please check it out. And as I mentioned during the video,
the video coming out in three weeks a stay at Ikoi Ryokan in Kurokawa Onsen.
Would you believe it? This ryokan has 12 baths inside the building! Plus, using the Onsen Pass,
we also visited 6 different hot springs. Every single one was amazing,
so please check them out! Also, if you’re interested in the next video,
please subscribe and give it a thumbs up! And as our subscriber count grows,
it becomes easier to negotiate with inns and hotels for exclusive access to other rooms, large baths, special subscriber-only deals, We would be truly grateful for your support. This channel features videos centered around the theme of a high-quality stay experience,
high-quality stay experiences surrounded by “spectacular views,” “hot springs,” and “tranquility.” Whether it’s for an anniversary or a milestone birthday celebration,
we carefully explain the good points and areas for improvement during our stays We’ll carefully explain
the positive aspects and areas for improvement during your stay, so thank you in advance! Also, we’d be very happy
to receive your thoughts on the video Feel free to leave comments anytime!
Well then, see you in the next video! The tea is ready~! The bathroom and washroom connect from the entrance. The hotel is about an hour and a half from Namba, Osaka, via the Tozai Subway Line.
It’s a 3-minute walk from Exit 2 of Nijo-jo-mae Station. Considering the bus wait time,
access by train is more convenient.
