Hokkaido Winter Trip | Christmas in Sapporo | side trip to Noboribetsu

It’s our first time visiting Hokkaido Winter in Hokkaido has always been on our bucket list. The easiest way to reach Noboribetsu Onsen from Chitose airport is by express bus Let’s get some soup curry before exploring Jigokudani We ordered the Noboribetsu pork and roasted lamb It’s a light, flavorful broth-based curry—perfect for winter! A wild sika deer spotted Most of Noboribetsu’s hot spring water flows down from Jigokudani The mineral-rich waters, especially sulfur, are said to be good for the skin and have healing benefits. It’s a bit windy and all we can think about is soaking in an onsen. Onsen resorts often serve manju to guests at check-in. It’s a traditional Japanese steamed bun,
filled with sweet azuki bean paste. After a healing onsen, it’s time for dinner. free flowing ikura = pure happiness Woke up at 4am without an alarm clock Going for one last onsen before checking out Breakfast is served from 7am He’d be a happy boy with a bowl of Ikura Off to Sapporo for our next food adventure Soup curry again, since this restaurant is closed to our hotel Their signature crispy Shiretoko chicken is a winner. Added a slice of cheese on rice to pair with the green curry soup Someone please open a soup curry restaurant in Sydney Parfait Sato is a specialty parfait bar with a minimalist, contemporary ambiance for a refined dessert experience. We ordered the seasonal special – matcha and pumpkin and their signature – Salted Caramel and Pistachio The quest for the perfect parfait ends here. Time for another dose of self-care. Reservation was made 3 months in advance It was so relaxing we ditched filming to fully enjoy the head spa. We went for the Luxury package – 16,500 yen for 2 hours Before After. Let’s explore the Christmas market with us at Odori Park. Loving the peaceful morning vibe in Sapporo. A trip to Sapporo isn’t complete without trying Yubari melon. Grilled scallops in soy sauce, sake and butter. This ramen alley is only an 11-minute walk from Nijo Fish Market. People were lining up even before the 11am opening. Butter, corn, and a miso base The classic Sapporo ramen. A delicate broth that’s light but layered with flavor. The noodles were cooked just right—firm and springy. On the hunt for our next sweet treat Stumbled upon a confectionery shop that instantly caught our eyes Couldn’t resist this fluffy pancake with Hokkaido cream & red bean filling So goooodddd!!! Pet shops hit us just like desserts — instant weakness. Sapporo is also known for Genghis Khan, a local BBQ lamb specialty. Sheep tataki Potato with butter Assorted farm vegetables grown in Hokkaido Grass-fed Hokkaido lamb Never thought lamb BBQ could taste this amazing! Strolling through Susukino to burn off all that delicious food Our final day here, and we’re spending it shopping. No filming, just full-on shopping mode until we crashed with some Hokkaido cheese tarts and ice-cream. Do I even need to explain? We booked a Robata izakaya tonight It is owned by the same dining group as the BBQ we had last night. Ordered a glass of mikan (tangerine) highball to start with. Otoshi came as a collagen jelly appetizer – 10/10 So creamy it tastes just like tofu Next: ShinShin’s famous straw-grilled bonito Incredibly juicy and flavorful with that perfect fattiness. It came with two varieties of Hokkaido oysters. when the oyster’s bigger than your bite [mind blowing]
How is it even possible for fried chicken to be this light? Almost full… but claypot rice was calling our name. 🤌 Pacing ourselves, because dessert is non-negotiable! Dessert was the perfect way to finish.
So glad we made it! If you’ve made it this far, thank you for watching! Hope you enjoyed the vlog as much as that background laugh cracked us up 🤭✨
