Hotel Resol Kyoto Kawaramachi Sanjo. I took a commemorative photo with a maiko at a hotel event. The fourth night of my 4-night, 5-day Kyoto trip was at Hotel Resol Kyoto Kawaramachi Sanjo. This time, I used a shareholder discount coupon to stay at three Resol Group hotels in Kyoto City. To keep the price within the same range, I added options at the other hotels, so all the rooms, including breakfast, were in the 14,000 yen range. Also, for the September event, all three hotels held maiko events. After watching the maiko dance, I participated in a photo session. For hotel events, I will provide links to their official websites in the description section. However, the Sanjo hotel did have a maiko event, although it was not listed on its website . I recommend checking with the hotel about event details before your stay . Arriving at the hotel. Please also refer to the chapter list in the description section . Access: The hotel is conveniently located near three stations on three lines. It is a 6-minute walk from Kyoto City Hall Station on the Tozai Subway Line and a 5-minute walk from Sanjo Station on the Keihan Main Line. The hotel is a 6-minute walk from Kyoto Kawaramachi Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line. From Kyoto Station, it’s convenient to take the Karasuma Subway Line and the Tozai Subway Line and get off at Kyoto City Hall Station. Transferring from Kyoto Station to Karasuma-Oike Station takes 17 minutes. The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring on foot. Pontocho and the Kamo River Promenade are just a few minutes’ walk away. The Gion area, home to Chion-in Temple and Yasaka Shrine, is also within walking distance. Nishiki Market, popular with foreign visitors, is also within walking distance. Of course, buses and trains are also easily accessible. Facing a major street, the hotel is surrounded by restaurants, drugstores, and a Uniqlo store. The shopping district is nearby, making it easy to find what you need. The hotel is 10 stories tall. While the surrounding area is quite lively, I expected it would be noisy at night, but the room was quiet. I checked in at the Resol Hotel Kyoto, leaving Shijo Muromachi and arriving at Kawaramachi Sanjo around 11:00 AM. The hotel entrance is located at the end of a side street. Hotel Resol Kawaramachi Sanjo stands on the former site of the Tsuboya soy sauce wholesaler. The first floor features a gallery dedicated to Goto Shojiro, a prominent figure of the late Edo and Meiji periods who regularly stayed at Tsuboya when visiting Kyoto. There ‘s even a soy sauce barrel on display. I took a quick walk around the gallery, then took a more leisurely look around later. It wasn’t really a lobby, more like a long, narrow hallway. Rows of suitcases belonging to tourists were lined up. I left my luggage there. Due to Typhoon Faxai, it rained from the night before until the morning. By the time I arrived at the hotel, the rain had stopped, so I set off on foot from the hotel to the Gion area. The walk took about three and a half hours, including breaks. Chion-in Temple is large, so I only saw the Sanmon Gate and the main hall, but being able to see so much on foot is truly convenient. If you plan to spend the whole day exploring, including lunch, you can also walk to Yasaka Pagoda, Sanneizaka Hill, and Kiyomizu-dera Temple. After my walk, I returned and checked in around 3:00 PM. You can bring your own amenities from the shelf in front of the elevator. When I looked at it in the evening, it was empty. I think they’ll refill it if you ask the front desk. Some of the amenities I found useful were hair bands, bath salts, toe clippers, and cooling sheets. They also had hair lotions and other items, as well as hair milk. There’s a rest area in the back, a drinks corner, and a microwave. The coin laundry is on the first basement floor. This time, I stayed in a room on the “Concept Floor – Nagomi” (Nagomi) floor. A Refa beauty shower and a hair dryer are standard equipment. This was exactly the room I was looking for. My room is on the fifth floor. This is a concept room popular with women. You take your shoes off before entering. I’m staying alone, but it’s a double bed. There’s a small table and one chair. There’s no chair under the desk, so this is the only chair in the room . It’s a compact room. Opening the pink and white striped shoji screen gives you a glimpse of Uniqlo. There’s a stylish light and power outlet by the bedside. It’s completely visible, so I keep it closed. There’s a mirror, phone, clock, etc. on the desk. In the drawer below, there’s a travel magazine, which I’ve also seen in other Risol hotels. Three types of ReFa hair dryers. Pajamas. Separate types. A jewelry tray, only found in concept rooms. Losing them while traveling would be a huge shock, so I only wear permanent earrings. I used the power outlet on the desk as a charging station. This hotel also had a matcha set. I wonder if matcha is standard equipment at Risol Group hotels in Kyoto? Below was a kettle and refrigerator. There were two bottles of water, which I put in the fridge. Air purifier. I immediately enjoyed my matcha. It would be nice to have matcha available all the time. I’ll come back to Kyoto next year when I receive my complimentary coupon. I can hear birds chirping from somewhere. Enjoy your tea set and savor the flavor. The hangers are next to the TV. There’s also deodorizing spray. Slippers. Bathroom shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and hand soap are available. I set the ReFa shower to a low water flow, but there were three levels. It seemed the typhoon had already passed through the Kanto region. It was almost time for the maiko event. Maiko Event : In September, Hotel Resol Kyoto Kawaramachi Sanjo held a maiko event in front of the elevators on Tuesdays and Fridays, starting at 4:50 PM. The maiko danced two songs to the Gion Kouta song “Darari no Obi no” (Darari Obi no ). Afterward, you could take photos with the maiko. The hairpins, obi, kimono, and obi-dome (sash clips) were all gorgeous. Breakfast Buffet: I went to Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine early in the morning. I arrived at the shrine at 6:30 AM, but there were already a lot of people there. I returned to the hotel from Fushimi Inari and had breakfast at 9:00 AM. The breakfast venue was Il Chianti, an Italian restaurant on the first basement floor of the hotel. Breakfast was served from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, but reception was open until 9:30 AM. The Risor Hotel Kyoto Shijo Muromachi was also located at the same restaurant, Il Chianti. However, the choice of sandwiches available at the Shijo location were not available at the Sanjo location. If they had offered sandwiches, I was planning to order something other than the banh mi I had at Shijo, so I was a little disappointed. GO! Various breads , sausage, bacon, French fries, scrambled eggs. Chianti dressing and corn dressing. Lettuce, croutes, fried onions. Short pasta salad, simmered eggplant. Various salads. Chicken salad. Sautéed mushrooms, potatoes, wakame seaweed, and horse mackerel escapéche. Prosciutto. Mortadella ham marinated salmon soup. Mixed grain rice and white rice. Mixed grain rice is good for health and beauty. Miso soup. Natto and pickles. All-you -can-drink wine in the morning. Grilled fish. Maybe mackerel. Rolled omelet with dashi broth and stir-fried burdock. Freshly boiled spaghetti. Detox water and various juices. Smoothies. Milk, mandarin orange, apple, grapefruit, iced coffee. Various hot drinks. Polpettini stewed in tomato sauce. Orange, grapefruit, blueberries, mango. Pound cake, yogurt, cereal. Crème brûlée. I took a bite and poured everything into my mouth. Oh, I forgot to bring spaghetti. The wine glasses were small. Breakfast was at 9:00, but I also had a lunch reservation at the Kamogawa Noryo-yuka at 12:00. Today was my last day in Kyoto. After lunch, I headed to Osaka and then back to Tokyo. Check-out was sunny. It looked like it would be hot again today. Thank you for your hospitality. As a Risor member, check-out was at 12:00. I left my room around 11:40. I stayed at three Risor hotels in Kyoto, and all were great. I liked Trinity’s large public bath. Shijo’s quiet and calm atmosphere was wonderful. Sanjo’s location was simply outstanding. The small path leading out to the street was reserved for the hotels. I headed to Shinkyogoku Shopping Street, close to the hotel, to buy souvenirs. It’s one street back from the street in front of the hotel. Uniqlo is right in front, with a drugstore next door. Nike shop. Cross the traffic light. Kura Sushi on the right. Shinkyogoku Shopping Arcade. Arrived at a handmade Yatsuhashi shop. Yatsuhashiya Nishio Tametada Shoten. I wonder if they make it here. I came to buy fresh Yatsuhashi. It’s Yatsuhashi handmade by a traditional artisan. I was also given a sample. Next time I come, I’ll buy some on the first day and eat it every day. If there’s matcha at the Risor Hotel again, I’ll make this Yatsuhashi my main dessert. All that’s left is to have lunch at Kani Samurai before leaving Kyoto. The end . Thank you for watching until the end . Please come and watch again. Until next time! Traveling Snow Leopard
